I'm updating one of mine, since I released a poster for it yesterday and (I hope) have now managed to correct that one bug (missing clicky) some players had encountered by no longer making that a mission objective.
Thanks for the feedback so far, Protector.
Arc Name: A Voyage Fantastic
Arc ID: 81829
Morality: Neutral
Factions: "Recycled" Hydra, Elementals. High level range.
Difficulty Level: Easy to average. Mission 2 has EB/AV.
Synopsis: (Humoristic hommage) - The Rikti ambassador is sick with an unknown bacterial infection. Your placement agency has just recommended you to Dr. Scott Wachhorst for an experimental technique you'll be perfect for.
Estimated Time to Play: 2 missions, approx. 20 minutes solo.
Other details: Inspired from the movie/book Fantastic Voyage, in case it wasn't obvious already. Intended to be tongue-in-cheek. Re-use of existing critters kept the size under 13%. -
Happy Birthday With Bonus Extra Day, CD!

How can I compete with that? Some of us don't have art departments.
[/ QUOTE ]
I do my own artwork, but I'm sure if you post a request in the Screenshots and Fan Art section people could help you out for a chance to be credited for any work they do.
You might even propose a litle competition where the winner gets a spot in your MArc. Perhaps a mention in a text somewhere - or even an onscreen appearance.
Oh, and thanks. -
Thanks Niviene!
That was posted almost as soon as I sent you the request... Are you using Orobouros portals again?
For those interested, here's a review by Bubbawheat from his Reviews for Short arcs. -

Comments and critiques always appreciated, of course.
Current opinion poll: Should I add a lost NPC in a wetsuit in here, or is that too much? -
I'm not playing a villain, period.
Now, a hero going undercover...
But yeah, here's hoping the "villain only" badges will remain unavailable to "hero" toons.
Seriously.
I have no desire to start from scratch to get another slew of badges. This addiction is already bad enough. -

Here's a short 2-mission arc I dreamt up while bored at work last week:

Creator Global/Forum Name: @Stalemate
Difficulty Level: Easy to average. Mission 2 has EB/AV.

I will review in turn anyone who generously takes the time to review mine, and post back here.

Played as a solo, lvl 40 TA/Psi defender on heroic. The first thing I noticed was the extremely condescending tone of the contact. It's a fine line for this type of contact, and unfortunately, this one felt like he was insulting the hero a bit too much, and to many people that translates to you insulting them. I'd suggest you dial it back a bit. I did like the bit of humor thrown in and the inside joke which I had to look up myself to be sure, though I had my suspicions as to what the drug was for. The map choice and enemy choice was spot on, and the ally was a great addition, though a bit overpowered. The defeat all makes sense here, and it was a small enough map so it wasn't too annoying. It seemed like there were some patrols, so maybe you should add some type of dialog, I'm not sure how intelligible you should make it though. The second mission was another good map and mob choice, though there were many empty rooms. The Lanaruu were a bit tough for me, but I was a solo defender so I wasn't exactly expecting a cake walk. The ending was a bit of a surprise, but I think it worked for this mission. I thought it was funny, even though the joke is a little tired around the forums. And the closing dialog I thought was a much better tone for the contact than the earlier dialogs.
In all, I mostly enjoyed it. Some good humor, nice concept. The contact's dialog could use some work, and you could add a bit more inside the missions. The second one especially, it's a big map, but there's not much to do there. It seemed there were patrols, so you could add in a little dialog for them, even if it's just sound effects. Good luck!

Well thank you for your time and review here Bubbawheat!
All the things mentioned in your critique are things I've been wondering about, and having confirmation truly helps figure out which way to take this.
The dialogue can certainly be worked on, and toned down for the contact. Sound effects... that just might work.
What I'm struggling with is the 2nd and last map. Seems if any glowies are placed on there they can spawn behind/under the geometry, so adding mobs thru defendables/destructibles could be the way to go but will require more testing.
Thanks again! -

...or to just have a Notepad file with a pile of arcs they've been asked to play.

This, exactly. -

... Not sure about the Hess map you mention...

It's the one with the giant robot in the middle of the room. Can't miss it.
If that one is gone as well, I know a SG mate who will be ticked off as that was the premise or her entire MArc. -
Thanks for taking the time to answer guys.
Appreciate it. -
Quick question for the knowledgeable out there.
I received a complaint on a MArc yesterday (81829 - A Voyage Fantastic) about one of the destructible objects not being found. I don't think the complaint was there the day before yesterday so it's new.
Do complaints about a MArc stay in place permanently?
I would hate for people to be glancing over my proposals, seeing the Complaints button visible, and moving away from them because of a glitch / bug I cannot control in any way. -
Thx for that list Cende.
Just a quick follow up from me: I've started playing and reviewing arcs in this thread and I think I received the swap from every single one save from the one I ran today at lunch.
Also received Story Teller badge (my 697th) right as I was logging in to do that quick run.
The system works! -
I'm so getting in on this.
My MArcs are listed in my s ig, if any are interested. -
Darn... need a Yahoo account to access it.
And I'm just not going to do that.
Oh well. -

Anyone got any new event ideas? Or need fundage for events? Or anything?
All I've been doing lately is playing City of Heroes (basically) so sound off if you need me to trade you inf.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup.
Lemme get online tonight and I'll get that event idea I had rolling. I'll even announce it here on the boards later. -
Villains & Vigilantes was what got me into superhero gaming in my teen years. My main character (featured in the FREEM! arc) found its origin there.
As a matter of fact, the FR.E.E.M. acronym I use in this more challenging arc also was invented 20 years ago.
It can be soloed by most mélée fighters, but I had trouble getting through the AV at the end (purpled out inv/em). I toned him back down to EB level after almost every comment received mentioned it.
Good luck. -

I love getting feedback on my MArcs and have always tried to correct bugs quickly when testing didn't reveal them.
Just last night / today I received 4 more reviews, every one of them polite and respectful.
One of them (a server mate) even took the time to point out spelling errors in detail and sent me a list to his ParagonWiki page!
That right there tells me the player cared enough in my arc to see it become even better and took the time to draw up a list of suggestions. Very impressive.
I think that's how critiques should be taken: as players offering ideas for improvement and the creator then weighing in the possibilities to do so when trends / patterns emerge in the comments.
Mission Architect has just officially become my favorite City of Heroes issue. -
Played Oz' published version last night and, as one of the privileged beta testers prior to release, must admit it was one of the better crafted arcs I played so far.
*I received no payment for this comment.

Please take the time to critique / comment if you can. If you've played it before, consider re-doing it since it has been updated. Thanks!
I'm appreciating some of the details people have put into their submissions. There's some geat stuff out there.
On another note, I intend on playing and rating every MArc posted in this list.
EDIT: Well, all the hero-oriented ones at least, for starters.
RE-EDIT: I had to re-publish my MArc, simply because I goofed while tweaking it some more and unpublished it. ID Number has been changed. -
Sounds good.
BTW Kyo, 8M should cover my contest for top 3 spots. 5M to 1st place, 3M for 2nd, 1M for 3rd.
Do I need to fill in any paperwork? -
I have an idea for a simple-yet-different-enough-to-make-people-go-huh? costume contest.
I'll PM you the details since I'd rather keep it more discreet for now. -
