Didn't know you still played squid, nice to hear from yeah again. I should be on and off during this month. But this closed beta might take up my time now =)
After el nerfo grande I rolled a Huntsman for PvP. I suspect the Paragonians dislike him even more than they do Dominique. Ask Xad which one he'd rather deal with.

I also made a Fort build for Dominique. She does fine, still, but I really have to run run run when I get in trouble. She's very squishy. Your Fort's enhancements would be an upgrade over most of mine; I only spent about 300 million. Which beta did you get into?

No wonder they ALL hate you =)

and Squidlington ALL of PT's haters are in ur VG, so what r u gonna kill ur friends lol & then rub PT's name in there face...I smell auto-kick for that one.
My VG? No no no no. My VG is just me. "Fatalists," not "Fortified." Dominique is the Night Widow wrecking everyone in PT's "Zone PvP 02" vids. Last time the leader of Fortified said anything to me (as far as I know), he "accused" me of playing like you and PT. (I guess he's still carrying a torch for you, PT. )

I agree that Combat Training: Offensive is overrated, but Combat Training: Defensive is a must-have.

If it would go into my attack chain (and consequently get 6-slotted), I'd take Slice. Otherwise, I'd take CT:O.

Because they tend to focus on AoE damage and avoid melee. That being said, one Crab friend of mine is designed to tank and does it very, very well. Personal preference should be your guide. I might also add that the Crab melee attacks look and sound cool -- not Executioner Strike-cool, but still pretty damn cool.

It can be avoided. Slot some end reduction in each attack.

Take something there that you wouldn't need to slot to be effective, like Combat Training or Mental Training. What good is Boxing or Kick with no extra slots?
  4. All my villains are lonely, so they'd adopt the kitten. Then when the next Longbow Flamethrower called, "Halt, villain!" and burned the kitten to a crisp, they would use it to fuel their rage and hatred of Longbow and Paragon City.
  5. Give some to me. I'll buy and slot purple and PvP enhancements. Then every time I kill one of your numerous PvP enemies, I'll hit the following macro: "/b PT's money bought the enhancements that killed $target. Thanks, PT!"

That ought to be good for a bunch of rage-induced cerebral hemorrhages.

    Best Solo SoA

The body-slamming, bone-crunching sound of an Executioner's Strike is so satisfying that it is reason enough by itself to go with a Bane. Take a stroll around the Fab some time if you'd like to experience it first-hand. The slicing sounds of Night Widow claws seem almost mundane by comparison.

And My Bane is my current lvl 50 that rocks in RV. In SC, as long as I'm with a Huntsman (Virtue PvP knows us well...) I'm great as well. SoAs don't "Suck" in PvP, they got nerfed, so what, slot them a bit better, it might cost a bit more, but I thought it was a good trade for the fun I have with him.

Of course, I think my new MM will blow my bane out of the water with how fun he's been in SC so far...

He even named a bot after me.
  8. Dahjee does PvP a lot and has for a long time. I'm not really interested in this argument, but I can confirm that at least.
  9. Come to Virtue and you can fight my VEATs all you want. They're all I play.

    TP FOE!!!

    [ QUOTE ]
The problem is that people--no matter how smart they might be--behave as though they're idiots in zone pvp. As though they are locked into a bugs vs bug-zapper dance on both ends of it.

The ones being camped rush the campers, die, rinse, repeat. They behave as though alternate exits and the rest of the zone don't exist. Bugs... to bug zapper. It takes two sides for camping to happen, if you deny them targets at the base and force them to move to find a fight then you break the camp. But this seldom happens because... bugs, bug-zapper.

On the camper side of it, it's the same thing. Sit outside the enemy base and get droned, complain in broadcast, run back from hosp, get droned again, rinse, repeat. Bugs... bug zapper. Everything about the base camp situation--drones, npcs, easy escape for targets--works against them but still they sit there because that bug zapper is so mesmerizing.

Not that I have an answer to the problem. Trying to convince a team to break the cycle is like talking to a wall. Nine times out of ten the response is dead silence in team chat because they're too busy rushing back to get droned or killed by campers.

    [/ QUOTE ]
This is a fundamental truth about not just CoX, but all MMOGs. In every game I've played, the vast majority of PvPers would rather lose promptly than wait for an uncertain amount of time for a good chance to win.

    [ QUOTE ]
Funny Story: on Virtue PvP, in RV, there is a stoner who stands in granite armor, and drones any orange name he sees fly past. MONOLITH is hilarious... until he gets really mad when he's wormholed, Blackholed then killed by 5 stalkers in phase >.>

    [/ QUOTE ]
In SC a week or two back, he switched to red and wanted an invitation. I told him I don't invite droners. He said that it was his brother who was doing all the droning, not him. I told him no again and that he needs to supervise what his brother does with his character. Then he got all upset and went back to blue side to resume droning.

I admit that I did enjoy his efforts. He'd crow over broadcast when successful, and his victims would wail and curse at him. It gave me something amusing to read while standing by myself beyond teleport range.

    PvP Set Bonuses

    [ QUOTE ]
Maybe my searchfoo isn't very good, but I can't find anything about what I'm looking for. I have HEARD that PvP set bonuses and regular set bonuses will not count toward that 5 same set bonus cap. I'm not sure if that's clear...If I have 5 2.5% end recovery set bonuses from regular sets and 2 more in the PvP sets (the PvP part only, not the regular bonuses) do I still get the bonuses when in a zone or the arena or not? Thanks for any help!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes. Check the name of the bonus under the powers tab on your personal info. Anything with the same name counts towards the limit. Since the PvP-only bonuses have different names from the regular ones, you get both.
  13. They owe me for a few hundred kills before the patch. It was only a Gladiator's Javelin; teammate got a Shield Wall unique not too long after that.
  14. One dropped on my first kill after the patch. Looks like they're back.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Could be a /bug or somebody who hasn't used their /EA in a few patches. It used to be this way but that has been changed.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Well that's good. True, I haven't used him in a while.
  16. Not really. I mean there are a few SG/VGs who will PvP in groups of 2 or 3 every so often, but I don't really call that a PvP SG/VG. I've seen a good number from Dawn of Devastation on blue side lately. (I only see that one tough scrapper from Shinsengumi.)
  17. Squidlington

    Brutes....

Yes, Fury is still hosed. The two things I liked best about electric armor, the capped energy damage resistance and the teleportation protection, were taken away. Nowadays the only thing that really differentiates the brute secondaries in PvP is some form of Dull Pain and/or how much self-healing it provides. Electric armor strikes out on both accounts, so my SS/electric just PvE's (at which he is still very, very good).
  18. I love mine and used to PvP with him all the time. Now...meh. His defense isn't any more worthless than it always was, but all this travel suppression now ensures that it gets him killed.

The one thing that annoys me most is that they took away the teleportation protection, like Energy Aura needed another kick in the groin.

I need to get something PL'd on Freedom. Killing the same four people over and over on Virtue is getting tedious.

I hear ya. Almost all the decent blue side folks seem to be absent lately, even the ones who stuck it out past i13 & i14. Whom do you play on Virtue?

    Is RV Safe?!!

Hey, who was that mentally-unbalanced Tanker who kept screaming at us, right before the main zerg arrived, to stop killing him or else he was going to "report" us? Talk about hanging a "Kick Me" sign on yourself. Please tell me he wasn't affiliated with you. He wasn't an Unknown Hero, but he acted like he was with you. (Can't remember his name. I remember making an off-color jest about it in local, which I shall not repeat. )

    Is RV Safe?!!

My goodness that was awesome. Awesomeness unparalleled. I salute your zerg, Unknown Heroes. Please return soon. Please please please.

    Is RV Safe?!!

Huge zerg. Very impressive. If only every day could be like this.

Looks like they are finally ready to show.
