  1. Well, the actions of one random blind inviter aren't much of a representation of the community itself. I wouldn't read anything into this. I simply take this anecdote as further confirmation my auto-declines of blind invites is the justified course of action.

Heh. Thanks again for allowing my "foreign" toon to join the fun. I enjoyed the experience immensely, and would happily run with you Victory folks anytime.

Heh. I wish. What gave you this impression? Apart from Avid Reader (gained by talking with Promethius in Ouro), I don't have, and never had had, any of the other Praetorian-only badges. Such vicious rumors...

Yes, very interesting. I don't reach 8 years until early July, so I can at least still hope I'll be one of the lucky few. But still an untenable situation that deserves attention.

    Point well taken.
  6. Do I understand correctly, that some few lucky folks have actually had their eight year badge award? If so, that's really an untenable situation that deserves attention one way or another. Several suggestions have already been made on this thread, but ignoring the problem shouldn't be one of them. Bug Hunter and Passport are already significant badge irritants, I'd prefer a third not get added to that list.

I'm representing for Champion, since Madame Pistacio and the crew over on Victory graciously allowed this server tourist to join their RHW league. Great folks, and I'd gladly run with them anytime

Althogh a 30% chance for -500% regen every 4 seconds is still decent odds with that many Longbow.

Now what I really don't understand is everyone equipping diamagnetic. To my understanding an interface debuff can only stack a total of 4 times total. One person could readily keep 4 stacks on Tyrant. Honestly you'd want as broad of a spectrum of interfaces to have a broad spectrum of debuffs placed on him. Reactive for -res so you're hitting harder and fire dot, diamagnetic for -regen, degenerative to lower his HP cap which also lowers his regen and adds on some toxic dot.
I'm pretty sure we had varied interface abilities active, just diamagnetic was what I had slotted. I thought it to be a pretty significant debuff on Tyrant, but I'm probably overstating the case. You're quite right other interface debuffs are as important.

We also practiced good tactics, most people moving clear for the Air Crackles phase, but I think it was the strict entrance requirements that really won the day for us.
I'd have to second this. The league was put together with strict entrance requirements, and therefore had people seriously invested in the ultimate goal. Folks (myself included) happily burned salvage to build Longbow Core pets, and burned astrals to purchase super inspirations. I can't see this badge being attainable by a run-of-the-mill PuG.
  11. Did a little server tourism this week, getting onto some leagues over on Victory in attempts at The Really Hard Way badge. Third time lucky:

The league was fairly varied (as can be seen here http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=290958). We threw everything but the kitchen sink at Tyrant:

    1. Diamagnetic interface (-regen, -hp)
    2. Ultimate Super inspirations
    3. Furious Rage super inspirations
    4. Team inspirations
    5. Use of T3 or T4 Longbow Core (-regen I believe)
    6. Everyone was either T3 or T4 in all incarnate abilities

Things didn't start off well, as everybody got booted shortly after beginning the first attempt. Starting over, things got a bit strange as a 54+3 Tyrant AV joined the fray during the initial defeat 250 phase. After that, things progressed normally. It was quite the button mashing session, and we had some serious see-sawing of Tyrant's health in the 20-30% range. But seeing that badge message appear at the end was pretty sweet.
  12. Thanks Madame Pistacio for great leadership, and thanks all for a great league. Gratz to all on the badges.

  13. I ran a RHW attempt on Victory yesterday. We were swimming in Ultimates, and Super Reds, Longbow pets, uber -regen and -hp, and we still couldn't get Tyrant under 29-30%. This is going to be a very difficult badge to get, but it is attainable, as I understand a league on Union has been successful.

I'll be joining another Victory league tomorrow night, and can report back on any best practices.
  14. I'd like to join, details as follows:

    Toon: Cinnamon Red 2
    AT: Peacebringer
    Global: @Spatch

Cinn is built for pure damage output, and is slotted with multiple purples.

I meet all the requirements, with T4 everything, including Musculature, Diamagnetic, Hybrid Assault, Rebirth, and T3 Longbow Core.

I'm swimming in astral merits, so will bring an ample supply of Ultimates and Furious Rages.
  15. Where do these usually form on Victory?

Oh, and I'm on with Cinnamon Red 2. I had to change my name since somebody already had Cinnamon Red on Victory. Is there a global Victory channel I should be checking into?
  16. I'm interested in this event, and will endeavor to join. My badger is a 50+3 Peacebringer, with multiple purple sets, and T4s in all incarnate trees.

I'm currently parked on another server, but my cup floweth over with transfer tokens, so I'll be burning one to do a little server tourism.

I would like to attend with my badger, a 50+3 Peacebringer (obviously, non-debuff, excepting the inherent -def in each attack). She is slotted with multiple purple sets, and has T4 on all incarnate trees, including hybrid assault.

    Details:

    Toon: Cinnamon Red
    Global: @Spatch

I'm currently parked on another server, but will burn a token to transfer over for the event. A little server tourism sounds like fun!

This seems like such good news - and something I didn't know until just now, I figured I'd share it with folks who may also have been in the dark.

Apparently, we can grab this badge and not have to do that crazy midnighter's arc.
Yes, I was in the dark about this change. Thanks for pointing it out.

I had been hoping they'd sell Cimerora unlock in the PM for, say, 400 points (similar to the cape and aura unlocks). This is even better.

It helped for the trial, less death and it became much easier to complete (with also some good debuff resist and regen on Tyrant).
    Clever.

Quite right, I'm itching to get the new Mag badges, although my enthusiasm is somewhat dampened by the buggy final fight with Tyrant.

I don't play Masterminds so Beast Mastery was vey "meh" to me. I generally prefer ranged characters myself, but I found Staff Fighting extremely fun to play. If you can swing the points, I'd highly recommend it.

I'm in the same boat. Beast Mastery, Staff Fighting and Dark Control have been keeping me playing CoH pretty consistently over the past few months, but now all those toons are 50 and incarnated to some degree or other. I got Skyrim for the PS3 for Christmas I've only peripherally played around with it...think I might delve into that for awhile.

No knock against CoH: my subscription is annual for a reason, I love this game. I think we all need to take a break from time to time, though.

That said, I'll be dusting off my badger (see sig) tomorrow and diving into the new content pretty aggressively over the next few days.
  23. I've never run into problems of Vault storage, as I use it only to store rares. But, I'm frequently running up against my auction house storage limit, so this sale is nice. I've bought one expansion so far, but can see myself buying more before the end of the week. I don't mind burning points on these types of global unlocks.

I'm glad to see my decision to wait for storage sales is paying off. A couple weeks ago I upped my enhancement inventory. This week, the auction inventory. Thanks devs, these types of sales make me a happy consumer in the Paragon Market.
