Quickguide to AR: RATATATATAT! Boom! FWoooosh! Bthbthbthbthbthbthb! POW! Bwahahahaha!
The last is optional. -
Massive amounts of damage makes for a good solo secondary too, depending on your style.
-
Combustion and Short Circuit is a tedious and dangerous combination. One or the other will be fine.
Luckily, you don't need them both. Ball Lightning, Short Circuit, Fire Sword Circle all while Blazing Aura and Hot Feet are running is enough AoE damage to fry the ears off a gundar. -
I remember seeing those results, and it struck me that the order in which tied buy orders were fulfilled looked like it was an artifact of the type of container they use to store the buy orders, I assume it's some sort of unstable heap.
-
I'm tempted to discard the padded solo farmer as a case that's interesting, but not significant. The salvage and recipes a farmer earns end up on the market generally, and that's good for everybody. The players who act as padding do it to help the farmer. Finally, the farmer has to do annoying crap to set things up. I think it all balances out.
The disincentives to team due to garnering significantly fewer drops on teams versus normal solo play is a more significant problem.
If the designers deem padded solo farming to be a serious issue, they have the means to put a stop to it. -
I think it's years of conditioning that makes me prefer PVE. I've been "playing against the computer" for many years. It feels comfortable in a way that playing against another player with the computer as "mediator" never will, at least to me.
Moreover, I don't think the reward system enters into it. I believe that mowing down huge numbers of BP in DA is intrinsically fun, even without rewards. As a thought experiment, make DA more like an arena farm. Imagine that, instead of huge, varied groups, it's just one Shaman who makes no attempt to fight back or escape while you kill him over and over. -
My avatar wants to take a bite of your avatar. Yum!

I'm posting to second Samuel_Tow's comments concerning Voltaic Sentinel and the Frost Breath + Ice Storm combination.
I think a possible reason FB and IS are underutilized is due to competition within the Ice Blast set. Five or six-slotted FB and IS are awesome, but it's tough to come up with those slots and power selections with so many other great powers to choose from.
Voltaic Sentinel is sadly not a fire and forget power, except in certain situations. Unless I summon it right at the feet of an enemy group, I have to waste time making sure the stupid thing enters within its own aggro range. I wish it used a "defensive" AI rather than "aggressive." -
Your overview makes me want to play my Ice Blaster again. Nice job!
-
My experience as an Elec/Fire led me to similar opinions. Combustion is slow, dangerous, usually the extra damage isn't necessary.
Since she's just level 39, Hot Feet is still shiny, and I like it and won't understand any valid criticism for another couple of weeks. -

In CoH, you can be Bunny.

why be bunnies when we can be GOATS!
[/ QUOTE ]
Now that reminds me of the "Three Bunnygoats Gruff" story I read when I was younger.
[/ QUOTE ]
A bunnygoat sounds like the cutest possible mammal. Especially if they were to wear a little hat. -
I did a "Mids build" once and saved up everything I needed for when I hit level 25. Recipe and enhancement storage space turned out to be much larger problems than salvage storage or market prices.

If you instead come into our back yard that has immaculate landscaping we spent 4 years of careful cultivation and immediately say," Those rose flowers smell funny, I only want periwinkle blue ones, with out thorns, that smell like pancakes and syrup. I don't want to have to use fertilizer, weed, or in other ways dig in the dirt because dirt diggers are second class citizens. Oh and I want all this in 2 days capice?"

There's a childrens' book that my family loves called "Bear and Bunny Grow Tomatoes." In it, Bear and Bunny both decide to grow tomatoes. Bear spends all summer expending massive amounts of effort and attention to his tomato garden. Bunny dumps a packet of seed on the ground, and spends the rest of the summer relaxing and having pool parties.
When harvest time comes, Bear has grown way more tomatoes than he can use, and gives a bunch to Bunny, who of course can't even find his garden. In the end, they both got a lot of ripe, delicious tomatoes.
In CoH, you can be Bunny. The players with a Bearish approach to the game generate more assets than they can reasonably use themselves. It's true that some low amount of effort is usually required to get the benefit of all that surplus, but it's really not hard in my experience. -

Seriously though, regardless of the previous sale prices for an item, you should always start your bidding at 1 and increase in increments of 5 to ensure you don't overpay like the OP did here.
[/ QUOTE ]
You're probably being facetious, but in case you're not, following the advice above can be really, really tedious.
When you really want to buy something now, borrow some standard resource management ideas from computer science: Always increase your bid by some factor. Using a factor of two saves a great deal of fiddly bid posting, and you'll never do worse than pay twice the lowest asking price. -

NOT A BIG FAN OF:
* common salvage costing an arm and a leg, thanks to bleep-heads trying to manipulate the market.
[/ QUOTE ]
No ebil marketeering is necessary to explain the price increase.
AE missions don't generate salvage. AE missions are really popular. Supply of common salvage plummeted, The price of common salvage went up as a result. -

Im guessing we have a psychotic, patriotic vigilante running amok in Mercy. The facial expression says it all. I like the way the white stripes look on the chest with that particular blue, and wait a minute. Theres no white in this palette! Two minutes in the penalty box for you, missy!
[/ QUOTE ]
That's an illusion. the stripes truly are the lightest blue color in the palette; it just appears nearly white against the dark blue.
I might have compounded the problem when I brightened the pic for posting. It's hard to find good light in The Rogue Isles.
[ QUOTE ]
I do like the limited use of the gold on the emblem and the claws. Its not needed on the gloves, though. Theres something about the way the stripe just ends like that on the boots that I dont quite like. Might I suggest the leg stripe pattern that cuts into the inner thigh above the knee, and filling the boots with solid white? Or just choose the stripe that stops above the knee on the outer side of the thigh.

Thanks for the comments! I'm going to try this out. -
I think it's great to have multiple costume contests.
This themed contest is going to be inherently harder to judge than the color palette contest. -
I used most of the palette links on your page, Naz.
They worked. I was happy. I enjoyed seeing the cremesicle page again. -
Thanks for keeping this going, Naz. Another fine round of commentary--I'm assuming you meant "sticking" rather than "stinking" in the Nosehare notes.
The nose piece is supposed to be the excuse for his punny name. Heh.
My last entry (for 4th July etc.) hasn't made it to the gallery yet:

Note the white on the sneakers; that came with them and I couldn't recolor that. He's also shooting electricity from his wrong arm! GAAAAAHHH!!!!

lol i still like it! memorable gimmick!

If he ever dies, he's not allowed to wander around in a ghostly state moaning about his lost arm. That would be too scary. -

I thought of Plasma Cannon kinda as a leader type, but then I didn't want to fall into the "He's wearing stars/stripes with red/white/blue, he must be the leader type" train of thought.
[/ QUOTE ]
I love the look of Plasma Cannon, but I just think you can't lead properly with your face covered up most of the time. Plus, to me, he looks like a Maverick--the kind of guy that Gamma has to keep in line. -
