Be glad I wasn't drinking anything. Be very glad.

    Wait... Posi goofed?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I take credit for the mistake, but blame the fact-checker for being sick that day.

I think I can now safely say that I have forgotten more about this game than most will ever know, and I proved it.

    I smell new signatures...

If I didn't have Memphis_Bill in my sig, I'd have Posi there now.
  3. Ah ha! I knew you were both places, just couldn't make the name connection!

(I'm disappointed that my major contribution to that post is "OMG you forgot brawl!!!!1". I do at least TRY to be helpful here.)

The reason you are seeing it in the first place is because of Auto Assault. They calculate their rewards based on paid time.

However - we will be basing ours on played time (beta doesn't count tho yo).

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Let me get this straight...

So, if a Friend and I both had our own accounts since CoH Day 1, never lapsed on a renewal, always had an active account...

I've played... 5000 hours, he's played 1000 (arbitrary numbers), but we've paid for the same amount of time... I would receive more Vet rewards than him?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow, people are dense... Played time = time subscribed, i.e. time when you have been able to play. Not your hours played.

    Geez.

    FAULTLINE!

From the most recent Boomtown interview with Positron:

Can you tell us anything about Issue 9?
Issue 9 will include a rebuild of a couple of City of Heroes zones of which one is getting a major face lift. I can give you a hint though – it’s the one “we never play” (Faultline, -ed).

So, Positron says one zone is getting a major facelift, and the editor (and most other folks) believe he is referring to Faultline. I think I9 would be coming sometime around February.
  7. I defintely read that as "Black helicopters and bakclava"...
  8. [ QUOTE ]
Yes, I was busy adding flavor spawns to Atlas Park, Kings Row, and Galaxy City.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I must say I was highly amused by the level 5 Skull Lt attacking a level 10 car with his shotgun. 3 points of damage from each blast, and when he finally finished off the car, the explosion one-shotted him.

Death Head Buckshot has defeated Car.
Car has defeated Death Head Buckshot.

Potentially stupid question, but do you have any idea on how Prestige Power Slide affects the stacked run speed of swift/quickness/elude etc.?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It affects it exactly as Sprint would, as it is the same power with a different animation.
  10. My dad plays, and he's 52. Whenever people are talking about their ages, it's like he has an automatic 'I win' button.
  11. if you are using /loc, your coordinates should appear in the global window (pink text if I remember right). If you are looking at the global chat tab when you type '/loc' and still don't see it, right click in the chat window and choose 'Edit Tab'. The 'System' channel may have been accidently removed. If you don't see it, add it back to the tab and try again. It works, I swear. :-)

Similarly, when the tank, whom you just watched go safely AFK while auto-taunting Rikti bosses, rounds a corner and immediately starts backpedaling, don't just blindly barrel around that same corner. It's probably worth a moment of your time to stop and find out what's up.

Wow. Can I quote you in my sig?
  13. Heh, it was interesting to find the first post about ED on 10/7.

    DO NOT...
...refer to other teammates by some obscure voice-based nicknames left over from WoW, and then expect everyone to know who that is. Or care who that is.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My SG is guilty of that, myself included. We call our fellow SG members by abbreviated versions of their main's name no matter what character we are currently playing. I'll be playing as Frozen son and they still call me Lux. :-P

They just might be changing things around for temp powers (like the new lowbie ones) to try and have origins be more meaningful.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You know the ironic thing? The lowbie science origin temp power is less useful than the others. Why you ask? Well, in CoH, a science origin fights Vahzilok for the first 5 levels. Zombies are inherently resistant to the Foe Sleep in Tranq Dart. So, most of the time, the Tranq Dart does nothing other than minor damage. It's a bit frustrating...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Could be useful vs. Reapers and Mortys (maybe not the Mortys, don't know what the sleep mag is)?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It worked pretty well on Reapers, but generally didn't work on the Morts. If I hit them with it twice fast, it might have slept them for about a second, but generally no effect. The duration is so short thats its hard to overlap the effect.

It's a gift -- we all did fine from 1-10 for the last year+, you'll manage. Take what you can get and be happy with it. Geez...some people..

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, I'm not complaining, its great for pulling mobs with my scrapper. I just find it amusing that they made the science temp power a sleep while mobs in the 1-5 missions that are given for that origin all have a sleep resistance.

    Questions...

Basically do your broker missions as soon as you can. That way you empty their bar and can start filling it with newspaper missions again. After doing a few newspaper missions you won't be able to do any more until you talk to your broker.

Questions like this would be better posted in the Player Questions section of the forums. But...

    Zonewide.
Newspaper/broker missions work together (you won't be able to do both at once).
The ability to fight higher level mobs and therefore more XP.

I normally don't jump in on these things, but it's so nice to see someone rejecting another player's opinion of their own character.

Oh, and my blaster is doing better than before too.
