    Deflected

It's whichever one caused the attack to miss. How it determines that, I have no idea.

    Tuck and roll.

In addition to tuck and roll, I'd also like to be able to dive off buildings. I'm tired of falling feet first.

    Help?

    We don't know.

    Ice stalkers.

yeah hibernate could be a problem, i wouldn't know what to put instead though...ice version of elude lol?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think the oft mentioned "Black Ice" would be a great power name for an ice version of elude: +Speed +Recharge +Def +Stealth

    Deflected

    I think you can get:

    "Deflected"
    "Dodged"
    "Absorbed"
    "Avoided"

    in addition to a normal

    "Miss"
  8. I'll be remaking my Malta Gunslinger into a dual pistols corruptor, but I'm not worried about saving a name, since there are pretty much an infinite number of Malta names you can come up with:

(Interesting noun) (Color) <-> (Greek letter or military letter code)

    Dreadnought Red Alpha
    Paradox Blue Gamma
    Scorpion Ocher Tango

    etc.

Okay, there you guys go, updated spreadsheet with level range limiters in groups of 10. Should be sufficient enough.

    (And also I'm a chick)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Out of curiosity, how did you handle critters with multiple sources of resistance and/or toggles (Toggles being notorious for only one critter in a spawn being allowed to use a toggle at once, and then, only for 15 seconds at a time...)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Castle, if this is the case, then the Possessed Scientists are either broken or just not obeying the rules. I fought a group of Earth Melee/FF Possessed Scientists in the Portal Corp parking lot yesterday, and despite having 2 level 30 Acc IOs in my attacks, I ended up with less than 9% chance to-hit, apparently due to their overlapping dispersion bubbles.

    Ice stalkers.

I've edited my original suggestion, since you seem to be focusing on the two holds even though I said:

    [ QUOTE ]
Easiest solution would be to remove the hold from Bitter Freezing Touch and rename it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have the feeling they would remove Chilling Embrace - unlike Cloak of Fear and Oppressive Gloom, they don't take the enemy out of the fight (fear and stun, respectively) - it only slows them down. CE is basically the quintessential taunt aura, which would flat out break the stalker playstyle. No stalker armor set has a non-damaging taunt aura or a damage aura, so I don't think they'd start with Ice Armor.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree about the amount of AoE, but I'm sure if it does get proliferated, the devs will do something that makes us both go "Wha?"
  11. SpaceNut

    Ice stalkers.

Since I was treating this as power proliferation, not as a new set, I tried to keep my changes minimal.

    [ QUOTE ]
If it's proliferated at all, fully expect Ice Melee to be similar to it's current form, with the exception that AoE and controls may be removed in favor of ST damage, and Taunt will almost universally be replaced with Assassin Strike, and losing an AoE for Placate (Frost, most likely).

    [/ QUOTE ]

From Ice Melee, I removed Taunt, Ice Patch (a control) and Frozen Aura (an AoE), all of which seemed a little too aggro-happy for a stalker and added in an Assassin's Strike, Placate, and a superior damage single target attack, which Ice Melee otherwise lacks. There's plenty of precedent for leaving in a damaging cone attack (Shadow Maul, Sweeping Strike, 1kC, Shockwave, Flashing Steel).

(In other words, I did almost exactly what you suggested.)

From Ice Armor, I only removed Chilling Embrace and Icicles, and replaced them with Hide and Icetrops (precedent: Ninjitsu -> Caltrops). It looks really different because I rearranged some powers to make it a little more viable as a secondary set.

Considering I had to add AS, Placate and Hide and some damage (Have you ever tried to solo with Ice Melee? It's SLOOOOW.) while removing Taunt, Chilling Embrace and Icicles, I tried to make the changes as unobtrusive as possible. Any set that gets proliferated get mangled, though. It's just inherent in the powers stalkers need.

(If you want Frost out while keeping Frozen Aura, I could see that working, but I think Frozen Aura would just generate too much aggro.)

    Ice stalkers.

    [ QUOTE ]
Hm i don't think devs would allow stalkers have 2 holds in 1 set but maybe still keep that patch or add confuse instead idk...the rest looks pretty sweet...>_<

Easiest solution would be to remove the hold from Bitter Freezing Touch and rename it. I used the power Bitter Freeze Ray as a template.
  13. I've posted my Ice Melee and Ice Armor sets for Stalkers in the OP's thread in the S+I forum. Check it out!

  15. I'll almost always stop and help a newbie, but it's contingent on two things:

    1. I'm not involved with something else. If I'm teaming or powergaming or whatever else, I'm not gonna stop and teach. I'll remember your name and try to find you later, but no promises.

    2. The newbies knows now to type coherently. If I get a headache just trying to understand what you're saying, you're on your own.
  16. I don't know what I could do in terms of helping with development (any coding experience I have is several years old by now), but I do know a fair amount of HTML, and I'm willing to repeatedly play stuff until it breaks - and I know enough coding to cause an error and then find it in code. Toss me a PM and I'll see what I can do! I've always been a fan of steampunk. I'm drawing up plans for a Fake Nemesis costume to make over the summer...
  17. The best way to find "Hall of Fame" worthy arcs is to play arcs with 4 stars and 999+ ratings. Most of these would likely be HoF arcs if not for the 1-star cartels.
  18. I was always curious about transdimensional travel, but it all makes sense, once you know it's powered by the Retro Encabulator from Rockwell Automation!
  19. There are plenty of ledges that are exactly the height intended for this emote - that's why there are lots of different sit emotes...

I've done the Praetorian arcs on several characters. Beating Shadowhunter solo on Unyielding was a test of strength for my tank and scrapper, a challenge. I didn't try to solo him on any of my other characters.

Shadowhunter can be very annoying to fight. The mission accept doesn't tell you it's a timed mission, and it should. That to me is even more annoying.

    [/ QUOTE ]

See, that's the beauty of it. Since it's timed, if you don't want to fight him, you can just let the mission expire!
  21. I'm so glad it can be changed. I'm set up for 50 threads per page, and have changed my text input box to something like 600x400 pixels instead of the standard tiny one.

    As to the actual topic...

I've not noticed much honestly; but to be fair, I play AE almost entirely these days, and I solo, so I'm kind of away from most folks most of the time.

Is that an axe with a chainsaw blade or a chainsaw with lots of little axes for teeth?
