I'm such a square. I drink ice cold water, and if I'm having something sweet I like to wash it down with a glass of chocolate soy milk.
I gave up carbonated beverages and caffeinated beverages years ago, except for the rare root beer or orange soda as a treat, and I might have something alcoholic once a month. -

I think the phrase he used was "first wave beta" but the point stands. People who have never been in an early closed beta wave before don't realize how unfinished the Issues are for the first few patches after beta starts. -

I can at least back up the defender half of this anecdotally, as whenever I was team building defenders in any particular level range would have the smallest number of players in the search window. -

Generally (though not always), the people who dislike a change in an MMO are people who got used to it the old way. As new people come along and don't have the chance to experience the old way, the overall feeling usually moves towards the new setup. Ask some people with less than 6 months vet how they feel about PVP to get an idea. If they've tried it, they may just surprise you and say they liked it.

I started in May of 05, less than 6 months before ED hit, and when it was announced, I rejoiced because it let me get rid of the power I needed to take to be considered a "good player" (hint: Hasten) and let me pick up powers that actually made sense for my concept! -

See, I'm totally willing to accept that the event happened. I accept it just like I accept interdimensional travel, teleportation and cars that never need to stop for gas. It doesn't really matter to me whether it was a natural volcano or a pissed off demon.
The issue I'm trying to get at is that as far as I can tell not a single NPC ever mentions this. At it's best it would have been catastrophic, and at it's worst it would have been cataclysmic, and yet there are no written records to find, no oral histories to hear, and not a single one of the gods, spirits, demons and genies that were around when this happened care to tell us about it - which is exceptionally interesting if it WAS a demon, and not a natural volcano. -

Well, considering the pipes are part of the PTS (spoilers) I never really considered them volcanic/geothermal... There's "lava" under seemingly every cave in Paragon City but no surface volcanic activity.
My biggest surprise is that the eruption was big enough to split an island into 4 pieces, but yet there's no story about it, as far as I can tell. -
What's the deal with volcano in Grandville, and is it still considered canon? How come it's never referenced?
