But there are other restaurants with lesser crowds and great service. Over the past year, you were giving coupons to join them with a free ride to their door. But, you chose to stay in the overcrowded restaurant. Enjoy your free hamburger there!
I can definitely go to different servers. I get that.

And the one-man SG base that I spent years creating on the one server... what becomes of that?

    Start over?
  2. Just so I'm clear... during a time when people are seeing RED (figuratively and literally) servers, and the lag is horrendous, this announcement confirms that there will be a weekend urging MORE people?

Is this not akin to an owner of a restaurant filled to capacity making an announcement that "for the next four hours, everybody can come in and get a free hamburger!"?

    On a weekend, no less.

If I'm misunderstanding the announcement, I offer my apology now.
  3. Ah yes! The beloved Basilisk's Gaze. Thank you, Energy Aura and Gypsy of Paradox, for offering that advice!
  4. Thanks for the advice, Carnifax. It's greatly appreciated.

I can see how the more recharges, the better. I just hadn't thought about using some combination IOs (with hold)...

    Again... my thanks!
  5. Hello all,

Well, I got my elec/elec dominator to level 20 and I have to say that Paralyzing Blast has left me a bit underwhelmed.

I did a search on here but found nothing really addressing the usefulness/uselessness of the power... except that I think one person said it could be skippable in the "What powers should I skip in elec" thread.

Just wondering how many of you took/use PB and is there a "best" way to slot it?

I've used it a few times, particularly when I have domination and I can definitely see it as a "Oh no!" power to get myself out of there... provided it hits... but other than that, the long recharge makes me wonder if it's really worth the "oh no" times..

Thanks for any advice you're willing to offer.
  6. Thanks for the message, Mandu.

I did check and the driver needed to be updated, so I did that.

I also now close all other programs before running CoH. For example, I was running a program that always checks Farmville for items... along with my browsers, I closed that.

I have a few fans in my system (I think two small ones and two large ones) so I'll take a look to see how dirty those are getting.

    Thanks again.
  7. First off, thank you all for taking time to reply. I know you don't have to, so I appreciate your efforts to helping me out.

Zombie Man, I'm at work, so not at the home computer. Not exactly sure where I'll find the NVidia control panel. I'll look for it when I get home.

Mandu, next time I get the glitch, I'll definitely take a screenshot and include it.

Would it help if I close all other programs (browsers, etc.) before running GR? Would that help any heat problem? Is there a more accurate way to test if the card is failing than what I've already done? I don't want my computer ruined by playing a game.

Regarding the drivers, how could I best see if they need to be updated/replaced?

I'm quite computer illiterate in some cases, so I apologize if these are simple questions.

I'll also check the link Zombie Man posted above regarding guidelines.

I apologize for taking up your time but truly appreciate the help.
  8. Okay, hopefully this is the information you requested:

    And a screenshot of Speedfan:

I should note with the SpeedFan... there were times where the little flame icons where green checkmarks...they would change of course.
  9. Thank you all for responding. I'll use Zombie Man's suggestions and report back.

    Again, your help is appreciated.
  10. Hello all,

Twice now, when I've played in Praetoria, my screen will turn into some type of satanic kaleidoscope... it's hard to describe.

The graphics become "shard-like" and "crystal-like" and the shards move and fluctuate... usually the colors of the environment (eg. if I'm in a room that's mostly blue, the shards will be blue).

Just wondering if anybody else has noticed this?

How would I go about checking to see if my graphic card driver needs to be updated?

    Thanks for your help.

    Imagine that.

Being gracious and appreciative of something free.

    What a concept.

While I'm about 14 or 15 months away from this badge, I appreciate the developers thinking about their members who have stuck by them.
  12. Thank you for the communication, Avatea.

As others have stated, it's very frustrating want to play and almost completing a mission or task force or Hami raid only to go "POOF!".

Folks, it's not like we don't get communication about such things... I mean it would be a LOT worse if the developers or some Red Names didn't at least come and address the issue, right? Or let us know what's going on. Thank goodness they're always open to us.

Perhaps Australia's government? They're never in the news.

Not the U.S. because, well, you know...they're perfect.

    Hmm....does Antarctica have a government?

Why is everybody so quick to blame the hamsters?!

Have you ever stopped to consider that perhaps the wheel on which they're spinning could be faulty?
  22. Hi all,

The first I heard about "Electricity Control" was this morning while perusing the forums.

What information do we know about it (and/or is there a link to where I can be referred)?

    Thanks very much.

Doesn't matter if it is an hour or a week or month until they get it fixed....it's just not acceptable that due to no fault of our own, we have full recipe inventories that can't be crafted because we don't have access to salvage from the AH. Not only are we losing access to the crafted enhancements, badge credit for those crafted enhancements, but also the other recipe's that we should be getting dropped as we play, but can't because our inventory is full. And no, "sell your inventory" is simply not an acceptable answer.
I'd love to have recipe storage in the base. I'm sure it's been discussed and there are reasons we do NOT have it... but wondering what those reasons are (not asking in a derogatory manner... authentically curious).
  24. I see the recipes now in my email but can't "claim" them...does this mean they are "lost" forever, or just unobtainable at this time?

If they are, indeed, lost...then I find this frustrating that we can't:

    a) store/sell recipes in Wentworth's.
    b) buy salvage to MAKE the recipes so we can store the enhancements.
    c) store them in email

I'm guessing since this is the weekend, nobody will be attempting to fix this until tomorrow?
