  1. Rike – My main and first character. First MMO. I was playing around in the character creator in a friend's copy of the game and chose spines/dark scrapper. I made the character look how I wanted it too and then came to the name screen, and was stuck. Asked my friend what he thought was a hero name and he said “Rike!” I said “...what?” he explained it was a mixture of “Red” and “Spike” he had thought off the top of his head. Since then I have got the game for myself, and re-made Rike to be a Dark Dark Scrapper. Nothing beats your first character imo.

    Soul Storm – Half the allure of getting Rike to 50 was to create my very own (and quite rare to be seen at the time) Peacebringer. This is my Global and Forum handle. Possibly the only character I have come up with a description of in the character creation screens. I spent literally hours coming up with the name of the character and when I got it I was over the moon! Later on to my surprise they made it quite possibly the best hold in the game and Ghost Widow's signature move! To this day I claim it was inspired by my peacebringer

    Spirit Blade – Rike was AoE carnage and I wanted a toon to solo with when I was bored of teams so thus Spirit Blade the BS/Regen was born. Able to Solo AV's and break-even against GM's he was great fun!

    Solvent Abuse – Along came CoV and so I created my Mastermind – Thugs/Poison. I had tried a Ninja/Dark MM beforehand but didn't like it, so Solvent Abuse was born. From 1-50 this character was a delight to play and was a pleasant surprise to pick this name first time. I had been in B&Q the day before and saw the sign in the paint section for Solvent Abuse and how it can kill...

    Soul Incendia – My Fire/SS tanker is a more recent creation, and since my global handle was Soul Storm and thats what most people know me as, I thought I'd play along the same lines and combine it with Soul Fire (fire = incendia in latin). Created as a counter character to my MM, Solvent Abuse, I experimented with the idea of the villain creating the hero – Soul Incendia was created through a chance encounter with Solvent Abuse, ever since Soul Incendia has sought to find and imprison Solvent Abuse.

    Dark Aier – This is the first ever duo toon I made, with Gohan661. It was inspired by the character's powers – Dark/Storm. Tried to get Dark Air but it wasn't available so we both stuck an E in the word Air in different places. Recently got this to 50 after about 1-2 years. Still great fun to play in teams.

  4. Well, after a good 2 years plus of playing the game with little breaks I decided I needed to stop playing for a bit and just try my hand at other things. So I cancelled my sub to CoX and searched around for a good 2/3 days pretty much constantly, checking out the other MMO's to see what took my fancy.

    In the past I had tried WoW and that seemed way too involved for me, being quite a casual gamer, so I looked to another couple involving a chance to behead someone in every fight (which really didn't appeal to me) or hobbits. I took the free trial and set off to make a new start and enjoy a fresh experience only... I didn't enjoy it at all!

    Little did I realise that all the other MMO's seem to basically do just about the same thing all in subtly varied ways. The creation system at the very beginning of said game is what can only be described as being pathetic, when compared to the customisation of CoX!

    I logged into said MMO and proceeded to play - but when I took a quest it didn't tell me where to go to (I was used to it being marked on the map in CoX) and now I had to worry about all sorts of pointless things like the durability of my weapons and going to buy food!

    So I have now re-subscribed to the one MMO that really IS DIFFERENT! As far as I can tell this is the only truly casual MMO out there and that should be marketed a lot more imo. Even if you only have an hour to spare, you can log in, run a couple of missions, log out and feel that you have accomplished something - it's genius and it makes you feel like the game was built for you, not like you're just another pawn with no individuality.

    So basically I wanted to say, 'Hey I'm back' and with a new appreciation for all that CoX is simply because the other MMO's are too complex for their own good and lack the simplicity of being just ... fun!

    Oh and btw, CoX community is by far the best - other's simply dont care at all

  5. Well I demand that you increase the cost of items on the Auction House!

    The EU Server Population is 99% fire/kin farmers, as we all know by running around in IP Portal Corps. As such every player in existence has upwards of 100 million influence easy, and so could buy everything on the Auction House!!11!

    We need the Prices to go UP and UP so that we have a reason to mindless grind more behemoth's and family nd other enemies for salvage and influence and drops.

    Got Cold/Sonic Defender from 8-32

    Had a blast with my 50's.

    Got a Spines/Fire Scrapper from 25-26

    Got Sonic / Sonic Def up from 40-41

    Created a WS - currently lvl 1

    Good weekend, bring on more Dbl XP!

    I know who you mean im 99% sure and I was talking to my friend about this person. I haven't petitioned him yet but I do think the name is in bad taste.

    The guy in question says his name is named after something else, but the fact that it reminds me of something extremely different makes me want to have him renamed.

  11. I have personally gone a very different route than you have, as you will see by reading back a few pags, but here's what i would recommend.

    I'd get Foresight asap, then lunge at 35, smoke grenade at 38 and psi scream maybe 41 then going with your patron 44 onwards?

  13. How should I slot it then? I haven't personally had it before, I thought it'd be a good idea to get it for those EB/AV fights, for survivability. As you say I already have defenses with Night Widow anyway, so I thought maximise the defense to make it worth getting the power in the first place.
  14. Small update: Now mid's builder is updated today I have gone through the build again, it's pretty much the same but no travel and vengeance added.

    I mixed up some of the slotting, double slotted swift and mental training, so I can get around at a reasonable rate. Re-enhanced mind link and elude, moved placate forward, took out TT Leadership to put in Combat training: Offensive early. Pushed SS back to 44.

    I'm pretty happy with it, anything I need to change before I respec this live?

    It's a pve build thats hopefully quite capable of soloing, but will probably spend most of its life in teams.

  18. I know that the whole point of the game is creativity and all that, and i do like to go through off the top of my head. But I dont like wasting my time putting in slots in the worst places possible in powers i've never had before. I'm just the kind of person that likes to be a little prepared for whats to come rather than wing it 100% all of the time.

  19. I am in exactly the same boat as you are! I've been looking around for absolutely weeks for a good reliable Night Widow build or at least some kind of hint towards one, but no one seems to know its so annoying.

    At the moment I'm 22 and I really need to make my mind up for 24 when I go Night Widow.

    I could post my build so far, but I dont know how useful it'd be as its likely to change at 24...

  23. Well I went on tonight and even on a Thurs there was regular raiding all night and a good turnout too. Hope this continues - could become the new Hami
