There was someone that decided they were going to level a toon from 1-50 without dieing once. Last I heard they got to around lvl 20ish and i've not heard since.

This isn't what I was talking about and judging by later posts by the OP I don't think its what he was either. As is stated in the OP reply and I think mine too, If your status is set to LFT then generally you should expect to recieve blind invites. If you are sending out in broadcast LFT you should expect blind invites.

However, if your search comment/search status is grey/not looking for teams I would definitely say I personally never blind invite these people (90% of the time /sea brings up grey ppl). I also don't blind invite people because gaming culture says its rude and as others have said "lvl 50 wanna team?" isn't hard to type.

However, having said all that, when you are leader on a team you normally aren't participating in the mission as much because you're sending out multiple tells to people trying to get more onto your team. It's understandable a lot of people don't want to be leaders on a team anymore.

The fact that it is so hard to get a team and requires a lot of effort these days is a depressing thing when you've experienced the opposite first hand previously.

But again the attitude a lot of people have responded with in this thread and others, definitely doesn't help to bring out the kindness and respect CoX players are known to treat each other with.

Admittedly I haven't read the entire thread here but I'm shocked at the attitude and non-welcoming tone to this thread even in the first pages. People that have replied have done so without even trying to consider the OP's point of view and talking down to the OP like they don't have a clue what they're saying and don't deserve to speak to you.

Personally I can identify with the OP and I even took a break from the game for a bit last year because of the exact same reason. I remember when I first joined the game straight out of EU Beta that you had only to log in and you would get blind invites galore.

Admittedly I don't like the idea of a blind invite when my status is flagged as "not looking for team" but if I deliberately put my search comment or search status to Looking for Team I definitely EXPECT to see blind invites coming my way.

I totally agree with the OP that there is almost a level of rudeness in the players that has been accepted and become as standard and as a result no one in the team wants to be a leader anymore if only because they are standing there all day sending out tells.

At the moment you generally either have 2 options.. you make your own team or you spend 20 minutes sending out tells to other people and wait for an invite.

One aspect of the game I wish would change, and unfortunately it's only us players that can change it...

Massively.com post an article justifying why they think CoH2 is on the cards...

I've had a close look at the building edges etc and it does look remarkably like a pc game screenshot because the edges aren't rounded... they're jutted like they are in the actual game.

So instead of it being a round circle its more like a hexagon...

Random thought here, but have you taken the time to look at the background of the new main site? Thinking of the bit under the main logo you have a view of the paragon skyline complete with building rooftops etc.

What with there being rumours of either an engine upgrade graphically or a sequel being announced, could this be a normal rendered picture to make the game look good, or could this be the dev's showing us subtly what the new graphics/game environment could look like?

Just a thought...

I've just updated to the most recent graphics drivers its the s3 chrome9 HC IGP 128MB.

However, I've just gone on overclockers.co.uk and found a ATI 3450 HD 512MB card for 25 quid so i'll see how that goes.

Main thing is its not my normal system.. only using it over christmas so its not critical that coh works, just would be nice.

Corrupted Image this is what I see every time I start up City of Heroes.

It's not my computer, its my family's at home and this is the first time i've used it, as its basic and fairly new but I can't figure out what the problem is here. I've tried updating the Mobo drivers and also the graphics drivers too to no avail.

Any help?

Well this is Off-Topic of CoX but me and 2 friends of mine are going to the good ol' USA for just under 4 weeks to travel along Route 66.

Way back at the beginning of October we were told that there would be new EU forums for City of Heroes by Kerensky in an Announcement. More recently with the release of the new US Site Kerensky then said we'd be getting access to the new Beta Forums very soon.

I was wondering if there was any updates or Estimated times of when this would happen?

Best MMO out there for me, thats for sure. I'd have thought it would have beaten the football managers etc that scored in the 60's though... :s

Personally I love the new look of Pain domination (red is my fav. colour) but I think it would be cool to have new casting animations rather than just recycling the storm and other set poses.. even though it means we get the sets quicker.

Rather than start a new topic to ask about more names I was wondering what names people have up their sleeves for the new Pain and Shields sets?

Currently mine are:

Ethereal Knight - A ghostly visage of the past with a shield!

Sever Pain - Originally Severe Pain, Saphi helped me in-game and suggested this as more of a play on name.
