Right well this next one was a confusing one to try to pull off. I wanted something that said 'technology' but also that showed something clean and futuristic. I'm not sure if that intent was lost somewhere along the way but I like the way it turned out in the end.

Inspired by this thread on the US boards, I was wondering if anyone over here has ever found their one perfect character?
Personally I was extremely lucky. I went round to a friend's house and he let me play with the character creator and a bit of the tutorial. I was stuck for names and I called the character Rike, prompted by my friend as a mixture of 'red' and 'spike'... yeah... Later that weekend I got the game running via his buddy code and made my Rike again - only this time it was a Dark Dark scrapper, where before it was a spines/da. I was always a few levels behind my friends and that drove me to try to get to 50 first. By the time I was mid thirties (levelling was slower and debt was a real threat back then) my friends were starting to lose interest and some of them left the game. I carried on and before the last of my friends left the game (they still come back from time to time) and I hit 50 (took me 4 months which was average pace back then). That was the only character I have been able to just play and build as I go... I can never seem to just ride it through nowadays and sometimes characters are planned even before they start patrolling Paragon City!
So I immediately made my namesake, Soul Storm; my peacebringer and I continued in the same way building and playing it as I went all the way up to the early 40s and then I lost interest and my altoholism started. I've never recovered since.
But my favourite and 'one special character' personally has and always will be Rike, my very first character. He's the one I log on when I have nothing to do etc.
So, have you found your special character?
EDIT: link fixed -
Right well here I am with another new Poster to show you!
This one was a good challenge to work with because it meant I had to find lots of new resources and brushes etc to pull it off how I wanted. I went with a much more grungy feel than I would normally to try to show off the effect the events in the arc would take on the normal populace and living conditions etc.

I don't have a clue how to play the market, nor have I ever had more than 100 million inf at any one time so... these enhancements are not for me lol

Thanks for the interest guys, I'm currently working on Ace of Heart's one.. it was broken (so I couldn't run through it) but apparently its fixed so i'll crack on with that. Keep em' comin'!

Any of the MA missions will automatically put you up or down to the level of the enemies in the mission. So if you want everyone to be lvl 50 in your mission you need to fill the mission with enemies that are only lvl 50+.

Welcome back to the game! I think you'll like some of the changes a lot!

ElectroKitty I've played through the arc I'm working on a proof for you -
I had finished this poster at the beginning of last week and I was all set to post in this thread but to my dismay I found my sub had ran out. So I used the small break between now and then to sort a few things out and take a little relax. But now I'm in a position to start up again!
I managed to get some time on my hands and I played around until I came up with a poster. Then I scrapped that and realised that pink really isn't a remotely nice colour to work with and that solidified my hatred of it.Then I played around more and came up with: (Click below for bigger version)

A while ago there was talk of an update or new forums or some such. I was wondering if there's any official news on whats happening with them, or whether they've gone the way of the CoX Vault - a pipe dream?

Hey all had a really really busy couple of weeks but now i'm back in the position where I should be able to carry on with the arc posters!
Gunbunny: Still work in progress - what can I say pink isn't my colour but I had an idea I think might work for this today so expect a proof very soon! -
Sorry to keep spoiling you like this but Mercury got back to me very quickly and I have been allowed to share the latest poster with you.

The arc tells the story of technologically advanced enemies from an organisation called FANG. I took on board the author's suggestion of a sepia vintage feeling poster with photo's as you got in the old style bond film poster's, and thought a vintage oldey worldey mid-western prospector wanted sign would be almost ironic and would accent the technology of this new threat.
I experimented a bit with textures in this one, and complete with smoking gunshot holes too!
Next up is *ahem* Gunbunny - i'll try to play through the arc tomorrow and come up with a proof soon.
Enjoy those 2 for now -
Right well Emperor Lol hasn't replied to my proof PM so I'll just assume the poster is fine and I can post it here.

Just to keep you all updated:
Walter Steamworth poster: being proofed by author
Mercury poster: Played through arc, working on it. -
Okay I'm no out and out professional but I know my way around Photoshop a bit.
It goes without saying we all want people to play our arcs - we put time and effort into them and what with all the farming that's going on the good story-telling arcs are getting lost in the hay.
So what I'm proposing is to make posters that advertise your arc for you. Then after you have your poster, make a thread for your arc (requesting feedback or whatever) and put the poster for your arc in there with it.
If you want an example of my posters I made for myself, check the 2 links in my sig. Alternatively, click the thumbnails below for a bigger preview:
If you want me to make you a poster (for the time being I'd like to do posters for serious arcs please) then I'll need the following:
ID:
Author name:
Main features of the arc (like a description)
Basic idea of how you'd like the poster to look (if possible a little drawing would help here).
I can't say I'll do one a day or anything, but I'll make as many as time would permit and anyone else is welcome to make them too; I'm not trying to make a monopoly here! After I'm done with your poster I will PM it to you and any changes will be made. After that, it will be posted in this thread!
So please, let the advertising begin! -
Well I agree in that my i've experienced the same problem. I create serious arcs that I'd love to see dev choice or HoF some day and part of me dies a little inside when I see a 20+ 5 star go to a 21+ 4 star arc for example. But I'm not sure making feedback compulsory would alleviate the problem.
The people that currently don't leave feedback, if they were forced to, would probably put something like "was alright" or "add bunnies or ninja's ... or BOTH".
So while I agree I don't know what the best way to solve the problem would be... -
I'd like to submit either of my arcs for the consideration of Master Zaprobo. Details below.

This thread was posted in Beta so there shouldn't be any others. Where are these other threads?

I'd like to submit my new one for full review. I know you've played it once but I've heavily revised it in that time.
Duplicity - 85847
Suggested range: 45+ (level range of AV, otherwise all levels) -
Yeah I was going to do this, but then I found a program you can download - It's very handy - was about to post about it and here it is! Excellent tool!
