I think anything with a self heal (not enemy targetted) is solid for pvp.

There are others that will work but will be more difficult.

Ok Felecia let me tell you something.

You think getting owned in pvp is bad in i13? It was way worse before i13, if you go out on any squishy you get held, if you root yourself for 2 seconds you WILL get AS'd, and ET'd and killed instantly, You can be held for 20 minutes by a dom or controller, but you die in 3 seconds so who cares. In i12 you die about 20 times faster, with no "free resist" and more unresistable damage with way more people spiking you. Now in i13 you have way more resist, reaction times, and WAY less people to manage , besides weakened AS, less stalkers, ET nerf, and plenty more.

EVERY MAJOR PVP"r learned pvp the HARD way. Going to RV, getting wrecked OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Till you want to quit. But then you want to get better and be one of the "elite". You want to have the fun they do. So you go back the next day. GET WRECKED OVER AND OVER. But maybe you got a kill and you enjoyed it. Maybe your friends got interested. Maybe you learned a new tactic. And you come back, and get wrecked less, and less, and maybe IO your toon and accolade it. And the more time you put into pvp the more fun you will get out of it.

Now, since all the other pvp'rs went to RV and GOT WRECKED until they wanted to practically quit, why cant you? They all did it and now they have fun and get kills and DONT COMPLAIN. What do you do? whine about how they should go easy on newbies and have different pvp leagues. Well guess what, if you dont get wrecked you will never be as good as pvp as them because you can't learn from them. What you are encouraging is just going to create bad pvp'rs and when they do pvp with the so called "elites" they will be wrecked because they didn't learn the ropes.

Now, maybe if you stick to RV and kickballs with a decent toon, stop complaining, and learn by partici[pating instead of pvp'ing within your own groups, you will get better.

Oh, and dont EVEN bring up this IO purples accoladed w/e **** to the convo.

Yes IO's are good, but I pvp'd with my sonic/em SO'd for 4 months, common IO for 3 months, and right now he has THREE sets (yellow/orange, NOT PURPLE OR PVP IO), and a numi uniqe and perception IO. Now, i did KB, i did RV, i did pvp events. I got practice and got better because i spent time and learned.

I played my mind/elec the same way...and its my fav. pvp toon yet. So...quit complaining and start pvp'ing, or if you think getting owned in pvp will hurt your ego too bad then go back to PvE!
  3. Well ****...

let me guess....combat attributes doesn't show DR'd values of damage...
  4. I'm not sure as to which is overall better, but IMO sonic takes a little more skill seeing as you have to know when to use what attacks (shout and screech), and managing -res debuffs to their full potential, instead of just spamming damage (flares)

note: when i used to run mine, i had it to where heatloss only had like 8 seconds downtime, something like that. CP for was if i lost a match and HL wasnt up yet.
colds aren't easy to run stamina-less....
with arctic fog SS/SJ/acro etc it gets pretty end heavy plus on a dark/cold you are constantly throwing attacks because you need to be pretty aggressive for it to work well.
    '

was your before DR? I dont see how you can have 8 sec. downtime on HL in i13 setting
  6. assault > maneuvers if you have the KB protection...still stand by it seeing how little dmg gets DRd when its just assault and bonuses, I will admit with aim and buildup on assault wont make much of a difference but otherwise I dont see why you would take maneuvers over it

Plus its better to have alot of HP BEFORE you have to use your big heal, its not like your going to use your heal before a spike to ensure you have capped hp, i use DP when I'm at like 70 percent health because 1. I can afford to wait that long because i have 50 away form capped HP and 2. DP is a beastly heal

This is all just from my PvE understand of regeneration but PvP and PvE are two different ball games so I'm still learning lol
Who builds for recovery in pvp....you have stamina, QR, and LOTS of room for numi unique and miracle unique. I would work on getting hella HP, moderate recharge (50-80 percent depending on how much HP you want), and then maybe if you have no room for HP and recharge go for some regen...but honestly IMO HP and recharge are your main priorities.

misread post, thought you said screech alone did -40.

Anyways, on most arena events I do (mostly KB) theres plenty of stalkers waiting for you to root yourself. Same goes for zone, so I rarely use shout unless I'm making sure to get someone before phase/hibernate or if I have alot of -res builtup and I think its worth it.

    Corrupters.

Well most corrs that do well in 1v1 at least have a self heal, sonic/cold is all offense with hardly any defense, which is why most heal-less secondary corruptors go dark for a self heal. (mainly cold but i've seen storms and sonics do the same).

1v1 what will do well is

    sonic/therm
    dark/cold
    fire, sonic, dark blast/radiation emmision
dark/storm vs melee's, but nowadays they have ALOT of -tohit resist so i'm iffy on this one
elec/kins can do ok like elec/therms but lack of self heal hurts unless fighting melee toons
and pains do well, tradeoff debuff for regen boost, personally i'd rather have more debuffs
  11. yea ....damage dont get DR'd. If you have 41 points of KB protection, take assault. If you dont have 41 points but CAN get it by moving slots, take assault. Assault is good, and damage bonuses don't get DR until they get way higher up, yes the 11 percent does help.

I didn't even look at the build but if you can get 41 points of KB protection without taking maneuvers, (which most builds are able to do, especially if you use kinetic crash in power thrust), assault is sexy.

    Elf'er did PvE? Who knew?

Met with EXILES for a pvp match the other day and had to cancel it. You guys never learn, you dont challenge a 2 WEEK old pvp sg then show up with 7-8 Uber-Purple lvl 50's with no intention of making the teams fair and expect others to compete.
PvP never became popular because of this attitude. You are bullies and PvP is not dead, it never was alive to begin with.

I talked with Pingu the other day and he said they had challenged Stryke-Force to Base Raids and PvP but Stryker always said not interested. I asked Stryker 2 yrs ago why we did not PvP or Base Raid, he said "There is no point to it". Hate to say it but Stryker is right! There are no benefits, it is boring, and the players who do it are way to often juvenile.
NOW you think pvp is boring? after ranting about how pvp is going to grow because your 2 YEAR old sg is starting to pvp and everything will be awesome and you will have awesome builds and teach those dirty pvprs to be nice....

Yea Felecia, if you think its boring then dont do it and stop bugging us. If you like it then feel free to stop in RV sometime..or maybe make your little pvp sg
  13. I can't wait until I get to pvp in freedom with my energy/pain! all this talk is gettin me excited..

also hope this thread dont get locked

The biggest thing about sonic (to me) If figuring when and where you can get away with using shout and not get plastered too badly.
its not 40, its between 10 and 20 percent

Oh and you dont use shout in arena unless your target is about to hibernate.

Are you fightclubbing or something? Jeez if you start running out of end hit MoG? Boosts recov and defense so he cant sap you more. And honestly? If you run out of end dont just let them stand there and sap you, unless your an idiot you will move around so he can't sap you until you recover some end. Like I said you will 99 percent of time never lose on a regen, and if you cant kill a enemy the LEAST you can do is tie them dont just let them kill you cause you can't outdamage them.

Oh, and thats what you get for fighting a FIRE brute with FIRE MELEE! Go FC someone that doesn't have 999999999 resist to your attacks maybe?
  16. if you have good HP and recharge bonuses you shouldn't be getting wrecked by much brutes unless you FC them with full fury, even then...dying is pretty iffy.

Only thing that should kill a regen is a debuffer.
  17. i agreed with the first 3 sentences then you completely lost me.

First 3 sentences: stop being dicks about pvp and give pvp a positive image

Other crap: some pvp match vs a OP psi blaster?
  18. [QUOTE=Adeon Hawkwood;2430755]The problem is that Power Blast fulfills a very different role in Energy Assault than it does in Energy Blast. With two exceptions (Fire Blast and Radiation Blast) the Blast sets have a single control power that does minor damage and Power Blast fulfills that role in Energy Blast by being a guaranteed knockback rather than the chance for knockback in the other powers.

I also have something to say to this which was brought up in the Cobra Strike thread, about a power taking a NPC out of a fight for over 10 seconds easily should not have a damage component because it is a pure control. Well, Power Push takes an NPC out of a fight for about 4 seconds before you have to reapply it again and again. Just sayin', doesn't exactly have the same amount of "control" but I understand Power Push was designed as a utility power.
  19. I wasn't implying that energy blast was lacking damage, but energy blast seems unpopular because of "scattering" to most people I talk to, thought a 4th single target blast would make it popular?

Oh well, thought I'd give it a shot.
  20. Just recently (I believe it was i15?) Power Push from the Energy Assault set on dominaters was given a damage component to it. It does 86 damage in pve (about half way between Power Bolt and Power Blast) and 110 damage in pvp (once again, between Power Bolt and Power Blast). Now, this was a welcomed change which increased the usefulness of this Knockback power. It was once a pure utility power and they turned it into a fourth blast, increasing the appeal of energy assault because it now had 4 blasts.

Now, this change was implemented to increase Energy Assaults damage...which makes it more appealing especially since it has that nasty label of "that mob scattering set" (not as bad on doms as it is blasters/corruptors). So, why shouldn't this change be applied to blasters and corruptors? It only seems fair. Giving energy blast a 4th blast like the dominaters got will make energy blast more popular, and with its high learning curve of controlling knockback, this will be welcomed by everyone.

    Numbers are looking like this:

    Blaster:

Power Push: 82 damage in PvE
Power Push: 120 damage in PvP

    Corruptor:

Power Push: 55 damage in PvE
Power Push: 90 damage in PvP

*numbers taken from the middle of Power Bolt and Power Blast in their pvp and pve modes, just like how Dominater power push is between the damage of Power Bolt and Power Blast.

So? What do you think? Should Power Push be changed across the board for damage instead of ONLY for dominators? I think this idea will be appreciated by everyone and falls in line of the cottage rule.

Not good with clicks? Or is it because he's not IO'd and accoladed? I play an SO/common IO BS/Regen and I have to agree its underperforminig to WP and most other sets in survivability by a pretty big margin. The only reason I can see to make a Regen is in pvp, otherwise any other secondary is better in pve.

ok all yall talking about heal decay, you know that only applies to heals within TEN seconds of eachother? How the hell do you plan to get Healing flames to recharge in 10 seconds in pvp with DR on? If its possible please correct me otherwise stfu about HD.
