  1. thanks to all the freespecs since the nerf, my em/elec brute is now completely unslotted. i only dont delete it because i used to play the crap out of it and cant bring myself to.

on the other hand, i just finished grinding all t3 on my fire/energy dom using bonesmasher and total focus regularly on trials. robots are pretty weak to the damage types iirc so if you plan your attacks differently its not so bad.
  2. the whole system reminds me of the arena que when i used to pvp except that in that case there were a ton of empty matches that noone was joining whereas here everyone joins one pool but there is no instance open for them to join.

they should have just repurposed all the unused arena kiosks(thanks i13 :/ ) or info terminals and gave this raiding system a real UI. this LFG button makes no sense in the lore of the game(so we just magically teleport?) and having to sit idle waiting for a timed green button is the least fun possible solution.

i've stopped doing raids unless a friend asks for help. ive got t3 on most and t4 on a few but its just not worth dealing with the unfunness to get the latest shiny on more than a couple favorite toons.

Evil is defined by Good as what Good is not. So, to Good, Evil is it's opposite but to Evil, Good is not the opposite of Evil.

A true villain might be seen in the recent Thor movie with Loki, for example. Villains are usually the cooler characters and I always end up rooting for them.
  4. easy. drop all that psionic mastery nonsense.

the buffs provided would be redundant with domination and/or are too weak to make a difference. pick up grant invisibility and invisibility instead of link minds and indominable will in those exact spots and just leave the lotg +7.5% rech in them. use their spare slots in charged brawl and havoc punch and slot 5 crushing impacts each there for 10% more recharge to push you over the threshold for permadom without hasten.

then drop hasten. pick up build up directly in its place.

pick up charged armor in place of mind over body. it has no prerequisite powers and serves basically the same purpose.

    done.

I ask this because a fellow player I know plays an Ice/Psi Dominator, that on occasion is capable of 'Double Domination'.
your friend must be an old dom player from before the last change to domination. back then domination granted a damage bonus so when it stacked you had a brief window of even more damage. nowadays we get roughly the same damage as we used to get from a single domination buff, but all the time.

i regularly get double stacked domination on my permadoms but its meaningless now.

it normally doesnt matter, but on like an rsf if you are trying to keep the phalanx slept(who have linked agro) you risk them all turning on you.

and its not just them, regular longbow do this too but the threat is alot less significant.
  8. i wonder, does anyone know if fiery embrace buffs the fire damage from reactive? i know fiery embrace was changed but i dont play my /fire doms much and never bothered to try this.

slotting the fortunata proc in a non-agro sleep will cause anything it fires on to be agro'd when they wake up. so, bad idea.

I had a mind/psi/ice build i made for a friend lying around i modified to use mace mastery for the OP, try this:

i have no idea if that is the case, if it is you could also turn off sending of buff numbers by right clicking your buff icons. that may also help.
  12. Solo_One

    For Soundwave

tactics is probably a waste of a power and endurance with rage and all your accuracy bonuses. you could give that extra slot to something else like fiery embrace or put a damage proc somewhere and take assault or temperature protection for slow resistance and to cap out your fire res.

if i didnt hate playing melee ATs i'd probably have one of these.
  13. reason I looked at ice is because it has a debuff aura that causes the run away reflex in mob ai adding some damage mitigation on top of the defense and minor mezz.

I do agree ice is generally kinda iffy, I have an ice/psi, now retired that i used to have for pvp but it wasnt the best in pve. i prefer not to go earth/earth because i have an earth/fire in the mid 30s already and find it kind of boring and asthetically ugly to look at.
  14. I havent rolled a new dom in a while and I was looking at earth assault but couldnt decide on what to pair it with. I havent played elec/ yet but it looks too controller-y for me, maybe ice/earth? arctic air/glacier should go well with a primarily melee set and fissure might be nice with ice slick. I dunno for sure but I threw this build together and it looks ok:

one question though for anyone who has earth assault experience: does fissure have reliable stun with permadom? even without the extra mezz it looks like a sturdy brute-ish build. softcapped s/l defense, almost perma hasten and hoarfrost and powerboosted aid self just tossed in for filler.

i recently built my fire/energy/ice as a similar type of build and really enjoy it, this seems to be able to do the same things safer and with quicker animations.

    Perma-Dom

basic permadom is relatively easy to acheive if youre willing to spend some inf, no matter what powersets you chose. like someone said earlier mind/energy is pretty easy to do it with, technically you could reach a basic permadom by level 25 if you had the right loot:

true but agro is spread out over alot more people and, because there are more people, there is more likely to be stacking buffs/debuffs flying around that make up for the difference.

the fact that there exists a defensive softcap that you can reach with IOs/self powers alone is enough of a reason not to go with nerve. how often do you hear of people being at the recharge cap or damage cap or even recovery cap? all those alphas are worth the grind, i dont think nerve is ever worth it.
  17. building for defense on a plant dom seems silly to me tbh. seeds of confusion is a quick activating 100% mitigation tool with permadom. my dom has recently picked up(since the advent of purples/basilisk gaze) spore burst for emergency add/ambush situations along with vines but seeds is your bread and butter every spawn control. i threw together a cheaper build than yours using weave instead of all that kinetic combat expensiveness, but my thorns experience is limited since i only took one to the mid 30s before deleting it. permahasten, not quite enough rech for permadom w/o hasten(15-20% shy) and 45+% s/l def. for incarnate i would take musculature core t4, whichever reactive thats 75% dmg proc, and rebirth as an oshiii- button.

redraw. long animations. imo the set peaks with fling thorns. but mostly redraw.
  21. seeds needs a lv50 common range IO, and not having roots is like willingly handicapping yourself. i cant speak about thorns without showing my dislike for the set so i will leave that for someone else.

edit: also, people over-exaggerate the usefulness of proc'ing carrion creepers. double proc'd roots is better.
  22. cold domination has alot of high recharge time powers, spiritual gets you closer to having them permanently active. the only thing nerve could help is if you didnt want to slot for defense but still wanted some defense. imo, this is silly since with minimal cheap IOs you could softcap s/l def and get decent def to others. on my cold defender i have the mace mastery pet almost perma and heatloss is always ready when i want it.

gee i wonder why it deals smashing damage....

seriously, stop posting about things you dont understand.
  24. the best mez protection in the game, full endurance, and instant reliable boss level lockdown is as good as inherents get aside from scrapper criticals. even earth control has plenty of powers that domination affects, people just love to *****. imo you lost the right to complain about it ever since they removed the damage bonus to improve the appeal to new players. if you want random procs go buy them, dont complain to the devs and get another set changed because you suck at playing it.
