  1. Well, I've not really had a formal complaint after all these years, but now it's really pissing me off. Why does adding color codes to your beginchat bind not allow you to type? This minor inconvenience of having to click on the chat box each time if you do use color code becomes major when you are in combat. This of course forces me to use 2 chat binds, one for combat, one for relaxed typing. The chat bubble customization in the options menu doesn't allow border color changes or transparency.

The point is: I WANT THOSE THINGS, how ever trivial and small they are. Which of course, they are, so it wouldn't be a big deal to allow them in the options menu or to at least fix that small bug I mentioned.
  2. MM is so tempting. So much power and its attacks fit so well with the concept. I also always use CJ/SJ if my character is going to melee and/or line up for cone attacks. In this case, though, I'm willing to gimp myself a bit for concept. I hadn't even thought of taking Phase Shift! That's like a poor man's PFF. I suppose with all the other mitigation (including killing stuff faster), the AoESleep isn't as necessary.

I believe my choice is Sonic/MM, thanks for the info.
  3. I've taken all your advice. Wail is now in Bone Crusher's place and Screech is now @ 32, I never intended to use Wail, but I reslotted it with damage, 3x Eradication & 3x Obliteration. Siren's Song is now @ 24. The only things I'm left wondering are: just how bad is Shockwave even if soloing, because it's either Screech or Wail at this point; am I going to be doing respectable damage.

Also yes, I do intend to hover at all times.

    Thanks!

    fire/mm feedback

After a quick skim, it definitely seems like the 2nd build has far more survivability due to of course PFF and the extra overall defense. Both a potent mix with Drain Psyche, if you get in trouble you can turn that situation right around. S/L resistance is a bit over the top imo because your other mitigations can more than make up for it damage taken. One thing I really suggest is to replace Doctored Wounds with 4 Numina's and 2 nictus. The bonuses and quicker recharge/heal really beat out the 5% recharge which is DW's only real advantage. Take the slot from the PVP IO or the recharge in concentration. Other superior mitigations the 2nd build brings: TK Thrust

Now about the damage, with Hasten, the 2nd build may break even with the 1st because of superior dps, but the lack of Fire Breath is going to hurt a bit. When Hasten is down, I believe it will fall much further behind. Lastly, the lack of flares(!) is mind boggling and combined with my other points I'd definitely go with the 2nd build even if it has less damage.

    Cheers
  5. I've got a fun concept I'd like to put together here, a *banshee*. My secondary is EM because I really like boost range, and I'd like to know if power boost effects sonic's resist debuff. If not, I'll be a bit more inclined to go with MM as my secondary. Beyond that, I'd like some criticism. Like, am I crazy slotting Wail like I did (I'm not terribly fond of nukes of its nature)? Should I just go MM?

    Thanks .

  6. I IO'ed my Spines/Dark/Dark scrapper into a farmer about 4 years ago, no purples and the only really expensive items were: Recovery/Regeneration; Recovery uniques. I spent at most 250 million and he falls only slightly behind a fire/kin of equivlent stature... it's only his recharge that's suffering.

Granted I've only seen 2 Fire/Kins do a farm, but if the rest were are only slightly faster, I feel I could easily surpass them in efficiency with a few IO updates and still be a cheap alternative. That said, I'm hoping to retire my Spines/Dark from farming once I've gotten my /ELA fully slotted. I wonder how it's going to work out, /ELA doesn't have nearly as powerful a heal and has a much longer recharge.
  7. This looks like fun . I already have a 50 Spines/Dark, but I may roll with a new Spines/Elec. Count me in!
