Yeah, moments like that are awesome. Recently my lvl50 soloed the last Pylon in the 'Save the World' arc after the other 7 teammates wiped. I was surrounded by what felt like 50 Rikti, but Light Form, the Cosmic Balance Buffs, and my Heals kept me alive, and my AoEs killed them or kept them away as I took out the Pylon. I'll never forget a teammate's explanation when the mish complete came up.
"YOU ARE A GOD!!!" -

First off, I think I'd like to know more on what does it mean (for my character AT/build specifically) to "Go Rogue"....
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah this matters. If some of the worst speculations are true (You start over at Level 1) then for me it ain't happenin'. I don't think it'll be that dire or massive change in Char Stats, though. -
Sorry, playing off another thread title - this applies to Warshades too.
How many of you Khelds are going rogue if it's allowed for EATs? My lvl 50 PB certainly will, and then will find redemption back to Blueside later -

How are the Patron Powers granted? I assumed that the Patrons more or less just taught you how to use the powers and how to access their source (like a master wizard teaching an apprentice).
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't know that this is actually explained but it makes sense.
[ QUOTE ]
However, if the Patrons just taught you the powers, then I don't see keeping them as a problem if you switch.
[/ QUOTE ]
Keeping them isn't the problem. Getting new ones is. What if you're not 40 yet when you switch? Tough luck? While that would make RP sense, it wouldn't exactly be fair. I can see the devs not wanting it to be too easy to switch sides, but not actually discouraging you from ever trying it. The Patron/APPs aren't a game breaker if you don't have them, but they can also be quite an advantage.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ya, I can see you not losing any Patron Powers you have if switching to Blue, but not being able to gain anymore. If you're pre-40, tough, you don't get any unless you switch back to Red later in your career.
I also don't think switching will be very easy (I think I'll wear Red today...), but not so hard or character stat changing that it's not tempting to do so.
My bet is that some sort of EPPs will be introduced Redside, and PPPs (Statesman, Sis Psyche,...) will be introduced Blueside and you'll be able to choose from more options. I don't think they'll modify any of the existing PPs -

So, heroes and villains will get to change sides in the new expansion.
Villains are going to need some ancillary power pools for when they turn good.

Way, way back, when side switching was first discussed in earnest (when they added names for the same badges on both sides), Statesman, who was still in charge, suggested that you'd lose EPP/PPPs and have ro respec into PPP/EPPs.
That was ages ago now, so who knows, but that makes sense to me.

I've only leveled one Villain past 40, and I skipped the Patrons (that Villain served No One!), so I don't know the backstory behind the PPPs...
How are the Patron Powers granted? I assumed that the Patrons more or less just taught you how to use the powers and how to access their source (like a master wizard teaching an apprentice). I never really thought the Patrons were the source of the Powers themselves (as if they were mini-Gods or something)
If the Patrons are the font from which the Powers flow, then I can see losing them if a Villain switches (like a D&D Paladin losing powers if he switches from Lawful Good). However, if the Patrons just taught you the powers, then I don't see keeping them as a problem if you switch. Like Desdomona doesn't lose her Demon Summoning upon switching...
So which is it? -
I've wondered this too. CoHGO will certainly involve some APP/PPP tweaking

2. The fact that khelds have a chance to spawn Quantums/Crystals. I've been rejected from many taskforces and farms because the people were afraid I'd spawn a crystal and we'd all wipe. Heaven forbid something in this game gives a challenge...
[/ QUOTE ]
That is my #1 complaint but the crystals are easier now (it seems)

It doesn sorta seem that way. We had one spawn in a PuG I joined last night. When we smashed it and killed all the Nikti fairly quickly, everybody seem kinda shocked that there were no deaths -
Yeah Cysts can be taken out by any halfway competent group, but for the life of me I can't believe they still popup in reg. missions
But in lower levels and some PuGs they can be a pretty big danger. I've been on a mish where the Cyst was positioned just the right way near an AV that the 8-man team wiped 3 times before we managed to defeat it.
Moments like that, when all know it's there because of you, the teamchat silence is deafening.
Cysts have no business in regular missions, no matter how easy a competent prepared team can take them out -
Here's something for the 'Bad Wrappers'...
Got out my lvl 50 Human Only PB and joined a PUG doing Dark Watcher's arc. Cosmic Balance was providing me with a good mix of offense and defense, and with Solar Flare and the two AoE ranged attacks, I was laying soe me pretty good damage to large numbers of Mobs, then I'd jump into the mobs to Pound a Boss with Inc. Strike - felt really powerful and effective.
Finally, the Save the World mish, the last room with the four generators. After taking the Rikti Leader and Nemesis AVs (with me right in their face the whole time), we get ready to tackle the pylons.
The piers are crawling with hordes of Rikti, with plenty of Bosses and Lts. Plan: Our Tanker and a Scrapper will stay back to handle ambushes while the rest of us took out the Pylons. I took the point. 1st Generator, absorbed the Alpha, and we took it out pretty quick. Take the second on the same pier - our AoEs are killing the Mobs as we smash the Pylons. I'm pretty much the Tank now, but I'm dishing out big Single and AoE damage too.
Two pylons down, we go back to the middle and help the Tanker clean up the ambushes that have spawned, then tackle the second pier. At this point, I've yet to use Light Form in the room. As we're smashing Pylon #3, we get ambushed from Hell. The Tanker and the whole team wipes, except me.
I bet there was 50+ Rikti on that pier with me. I hit Light Form, charge thru them to the Last Pylon. Using Photon Seekers and my other 3 AoEs, I manage to keep the Mobs off me (killing them and knowking them away - KB ain't always bad) as I attack the Pylon - and I take it down.
Everybody shouts 'Way to Go!', 'Good Job'. One teammate says, in Caps "YOU ARE A GOD!"
We had a 'Kheldian Proudest Moments' thread here once but I can't find it - this would be my Entry there
I don't think those teammates, if they ever did, will give Khelds a Bad Wrap now -

I wouldn't recommend replacing recharge with it. After all, you not only slowed down how often BU comes back, but how often the new proc gets to check for activation. Definitely not worth it in my opinion.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hah, what I figured... Oh well, what's a few million Inf flushed away -
This older thread seems on topic for my issue...
I just slotted this Gaussian BuildUp Proc into my PB's Build-Up click, and I'm wondering if that was a mistake. I replaced a Recharge with it, and so have lost about 5 seconds on my Build-Up's Recharge (went from 45 sec to about 50).
Those lost five seconds seem more valuable to me than the measly 5% chance I might get a little xtra Oomph when I fire it now, and I'm thinking of putting a Recharge IO back in its place.
So, leave Gaussian BuildUP or replace it?
