  1. Purpling out my main: Currently have 5 Hecatombs in Incadescent Strike, but I've read some say that they work better in Radiant Strike, because the Proc will fire more often. Gonna respec soon and not sure if I should move them all to Radiant? I do like the higher values being in Incadescent (bit faster recharge, etc), but if the proc makes that much difference maybe there's something too it.

    What would you guys do?
  2. Pardon my ignorance - how do you find out how much you've actually played a toon?
  3. [ QUOTE ]
...I just hope that even if they don't let us change the colors of the Forms they allow us to do the human only powers. I have a sneaky suspicion Khelds as being a story driven Epic AT we won't even get a choice in the matter.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I too have this fear (I won't grovel, but please allow customization for Khelds too, Devs)
  4. [ QUOTE ]
You are an elitist, but it's ok so many are. *stands up to salute* I am an elitist too!

Can Q/V/C be used as mobs in AE? I'd be sick enough to want to have my Khelds go through a story gauntlet with nothing but them. Heh heh

    [/ QUOTE ]

If it's true, and you make or discover such a story, would you kindly let me know. I don't normally play AE missions but that does sound like sick fun
  5. I generally have no issues with w/skin outfits. My female toons have 1 or 2, but usually of the 'athetic shorts/top' variety. I said generally, cuz I do find maxed-out boob sliders with Eden tops a bit distasteful - sue me. Whatever gets your thrills...

As for the real gender behind the toon, I don't really give it any consideration, but I do find it pleasing to know we have quite a few females playing this game. I never assume a particular toon is a male or female - you simply can't tell (unless using vent, which I don't...)

I discovered the joys of farming the wall in Cimerora - it's fun because I can spend as long or as short as I like doing it, no need to reset between runs, no need to find fillers, etc.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ooooh, I hadn't thought of that. I tried the shard, PI and the RWZ.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah the walls are *easy* for my human PB. I can AoE the minions to death very quickly while hovering just above them. They clamor over each other trying to get to me, but with my shields and heals, I'm in absolutely no danger from their spears and engineer grenades. It's literally like shooting fish in a barrel.

Indeed, it's an isolated moment of Tankmagery and I can see why a real Tankmage should never be in the game. I only do the Wall every once in a while and then only for a few minutes before I get bored to death and leave (or drop down and fight them mano a mano, much more challenging and dangerous, and thus, fun ). Fortunately the rest of the game doesn't have such easy scenarios...

Yea, i only use the market to sell on. I'll never pay 100's of millions for anything. To me, it's simply not worth it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well it is alot of influence, and they're certainly not really worth that, but then, why not? I've already got all the non-purp IOs I can put on my main, so if I get a purple I can use I'll slot it, replacing another IO. If, during the course of playing and selling, I build up a 100 million or so Inf, I buy a purple recipe. Rince and Repeat. What else should I do with it?
  8. [ QUOTE ]
Yes Socorro, 47-50 can drop purps. The often-ess is due to ratio of the rare drop, not mob level.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah I knew they *could* (had it happen) just wondered it was bit rarer for a 48 to drop a purp than a 50. Thanks for clarifying
  9. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Ok thank you and also what is the amount of purples do you think I will get in 10 runs?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I will second the "probably zero" number, but who knows, maybe the RNG likes you. I've played for months without getting purples, but in the week before i14 came out i had 6 drop.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've gotten alot of drops the last fews weeks, but before that I went months without one...since I've been paying attention anyway.

See, the sad thing is, I've only been doing the market thing seriously for maybe the last half year. Before that, my attitude was "I came to play, not screw around playing wallstreet with this market crap", so I'd sell *All* salvage and recipes to regular vendors and contacts. I distinctly remember having purple recipes (hmm those are odd) and shedding myself of them for the street price (just a few thousand inf.), along with untold ammounts of rare salvage, etc.

Then one day I decided to just have a look at some market prices. My jaws dropped when I saw how much Recipes, IOs and rare salvage were going for. Since then, I've learned the market (I'm a quick study). For a few of minutes of gametime each play session, I make millions, and I now have 20 purples on the a 50 I'm purpling out (this is a little over 2 months of just regular playing too)

Even so, I've leveled 3 characters to 50 and one to 48 in the year and and half I've been playing, and I *hate* thinking about all that Influence I literally threw away (probably over a billion) while I was struggling trying to get SOs haha. It'd be sad if it wasn't just a game and so dang funny
  10. addendum question: mobs lower than lvl 50 often drop recipes of their level (say 48 & 49), since all Purps are lvl 50, does that mean non-50 mobs, even though they *can* drop 50s (thus also purps), don't do so as often as a lvl 50 mob?
  11. [ QUOTE ]
I know, I want to change the color of my MA/SR scrapper to... aw crap!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, I'm hoping I'll be able to change my MA/SR Scrapper's Hasten Pompoms to Transparent
  12. Weird... a part of me doesn't want this so. I like being a part of The Few, The Proud, The M...Kheldians.

Because of the qualifications of having to have a 50, Khelds will always be rarer. That, and they're simply harder to play, so higher lvl Khelds will still be somewhat rare. Even so, My 50 PB was in Went's the other day and I saw two other 50's in there shopping with me, which felt...I dunno...Odd.

    Am I elitist?
  13. My 2nd Build (Tri-Form) doesn't have it, and doesn't miss it
  14. Lately, I've been trying to Purple my 50 PB (got 18 purps so far) and let me tell you that is expensive in today's market. Even so, it doesn't feel grindy cuz I love playing her so much. So much beauty and on large teams so much power. Can't wait till GR so she can turn 'Ebil' for a while and ransack the Rogue Isles in all her glowing glory...

    Yeah, I like 'er...
  15. As LX said, Khelds are late bloomers - Human Onlies more so. They have they're own style, which takes a bit of patience to figure out, but there's no AT I feel that overshadows me.

My Human Only PB can solo any arc or story that doesn't have an AV. Even Crimson's Malta arc and Harvey Maylor's Carnie arc was just a higher challenge - I soloed 90% of both without undue difficulty.

Just always make sure you take out Mezzers and Sappers first - l go for them even before I do Qs and Vs. Doing this should keep you from having to carry a busload of Breakfrees. I carry 5 at most, and always try to have at least 5. Use the 3-1 Insp trade if you have to.

On teams, I usually feel like the most powerful member on the team. Often I'm doing near scrapper-level damage with near-capped Resistance, but I also have a lot of AoEs and Ranged attacks. Oh yeah, and Nukes and Heals.

If you're playing a PB, small hint - get a -KB IO. I recommend putting it in Combat Flight (which you shouldn't use that much, as a PB). You'll be in Melee alot and you don't want to get smacked on your butt constantly.

Hope you enjoy Human Only as much as I do...
  16. Socorro

    Plusar

I gave Pulsar an honest try for months, but eventually respecced out of it. Solar Flare gives you almost as much breathing space (via KBing the minions on their butts) as Pulsar does, and activates faster and damages them to boot.

I guess for teaming (and there's no Controllers) Pulsar can be useful for locking down the minions for the other players without the KB that so irritates Melee types. Still, it needs more...something...to make it more useful than another power pick, IMO.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
    By not taking it.

Seriously, it's one of those powers I just hate, hate, HATE. It's so downright lazy. It replaces my character with a brace of white particle emitters orbiting the point where her navel was a moment ago. Oooooh, that must have taken some GFX designer all of a minute and a half to slap together!

And then there's the crash. So, I just don't bother. Even my humanform PB just carries a breakfree or two and builds for defense. Otherwise, try simply popping into lobsterform.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, honestly, I strongly dislike the *look* of Lightform too. I guess it's supposed to be your 'natural' kheldian form, but I like the Human form's animations. I don't know why it can't be just a Humanoid body of Light...

I'll always keep Lightform cuz it's so Uber when it's used. The crash has never been much of a problem. It's heavy, sure, but that's the price for the power.
  18. As the OP, I'll also go with a goldish coloration on my powers and auras.
  19. Glowing Touch is the only current power I've picked that I don't use regularly. Thinking about 'speccing out of it...but it sure is simply cool to have, and looks awesome, and it does help on 'rare' occasions... Maybe I'll keep it
  20. If I'm soloing, I usually just run away when the icon starts blinking. I survive alot more than not, then I'm back in the fight shortly.

On teams I'll just back away from the crowd, then when crash occurs, pop 1 blue, then hit heals, then turn shields back on, then conserve energy (maybe). I'm out of the fight less than 10 seconds, and again I hardly ever die when the crash comes.

And since I leveled without ever having Dwarf - I used Light Form alot.

At 50 and stronger IOs, my Human form is strong enough that I don't really need LF so much anymore. I can solo the two dueling Death Mage bosses in PI, or Nemesis and Warhulk bosses, and never even think about hitting Light Form.

I usually save LF now for EBs (but only soloing). On teams, Cosmic Balance often gives me enough extra resistance I still don't need it.

Pretty much the only time I'll *always* use it now is when I see a Giant Mob with a Boss in it (such as those giant cave rooms with 5 or 6 groups in it). I'll switch to LF, charge the boss, beat him down while firing off AoEs to whittle minions down, then I'll finish off the minions. Nearly always clear the room before the crash...
  21. [ QUOTE ]
In regular missions, at least the "responsible" Kheldian can warn their team-mates... when I was in PI and finally noticed the Cyst that spawned in my "hunting-ground", I had already seen several lowbie toons (a Lv25 tank I believe, and some others) who were probably just waiting idely for their PL team to gather around for their next mission.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In gameplay, that's true, but I was speaking thematically. Cysts are supposed to be the homes and transportation centers of unbound nicti - safe places to keep them from dying. So they're supposed to be, like, semi-precious and worthy of security.

But no, those brilliant nicti put them in the middle of swamps with Hydra, or in wartorn alternate dimensions with Praetori, so why not downtown Peregrine Island - seems like a perfectly safe place as well (note sarcasm)
  22. Sure why now?. Makes about as much in game sense to spawn right in downtown PI as they do in regular missions
  23. Socorro

    Some PB Io's?

Human PB's have to spend alot of time in Melee. One of the -KB IOs, such as in Blessing of the Zephyr, to keep you from constantly getting knocked on you A$$, will work wonders
  24. I'm often not the first to mission on my flying characters, but usually not *that* far behind. They never have to wait long. It's a non-Issue.

However, I do wish the 4th tier flight power was changed from group flight to some sort of Super-sonic flight that *was* really fast (maybe balanced by using alot of endurance but then it's already costing an extra slot)
