Quote:And since I already do... I'm looking foward to grabbing a couple extra stuff I didn't get so I could run like a Ninja... Assault & Maneuvers come to mind, and maybe Physical Perfection to handle the extra endurance these might cost (I already run 8 toggles on my MainDon't you ruin this for me. I'm looking forward to having both Hurdle and Swift for my running around like a ninja.

Quote:Anyone having an issue with 3-4 New Powers they'll be able to get, even if they only get to one slot those new Powers, and they absolutely will not lose any of the slotting they currently have... Sounds pretty whiny to me.I realize the person you are talking about may not agree 100% with your view on this, but that hardly makes him/her a whiner. I realize it may offend your sensibilities to read an opposing viewpoint, but is it really appropriate* to call them a whiner when they make a perfectly calm post expressing a concern?
Your case becomes even weaker when the OP is educated on exactly what this means and he backs off. -
Quote:Anti-Matter doesn't appear in either the old or the new Maria Jenkins story arc, so my first guess is that it's him. He can be found in either the old or the new Tina Macintyre arc, The Praetorian War or The Instant Army in Ouroboros level 40-45 tier. In both of those arcs, he appears twice. The first time, he will teleport out at maybe 1/2 health and not count, the second time, he will stay the whole way through and will count.
Doh... 100% right... I did the MacIntyre arc via oro and got it. I take back all I said -
Completely did New Maria Arc and her follow missions and the old ones thru Oro... No Badge..Sigh... My progress bar shows I'm missing one AV. No idea which one of them it's not registering, and I'm certain I've been them all at least once... some multiple times

Love NRs effect: 60ish mph running and jumping on two 50s (they have combat jump, hurdle, and swift as well). More than good enough
HATE NRs animation. The jumping isn't so bad, but the running, all stiff with one arm sticking backward....Gah! I jump whenever possible so I don't have to see it.
If there were alternate running animations this would be the bestest power evar. -
Scirocco, the Noble Villain... I sooooooo wanted to Help Scirocco with his plans instead of turning on him. Yes, storywise I suppose he needed to fail, but I wish the option to stand with him, even in failure, had been there.

Quote:Was certain I'd done that. Anyway, did it again, then defeated everything inside the room got me a mission exit. *shrug*He's not there. You have to find the disturbance (portal, whatever that thing is), which spawns an ambush. Defeating that should drop a clue (and you have to defeat Black Swan, of course).
Thanks -
I'm playing thru this arc with my newly-heroed Brute, and it is a pretty awesome.
Mild Spoilers...
When I first entered those tunnels full of Resistance and Clockwork. Well, first there's this long dim tunnel I ran down and didn't see anything for a bit, then I see some shapes, and realize they're Clockwork, patrolling toward me. Getting excited cuz I never fought them on my Brute... Then I see this giant lumbering thing slowly emerging from the dark with them. My first encounter with a War Walker...Holy Cow, it was generally freaky!!!
I typically solo at +8 and this arc will be no different, no matter how difficult. Actually, the difficulty of the Praetorian enemies is refreshing. My Brute is sturdy though, and I'm making it thru pretty well - have to change my tactics for some of these foes though...
Okay, now Spoil me... I'm doing the Black Swan mish where she's in her Shadow Dimension Chantry. Beat her once, but then I'm supposed to meet up with Stateman. I've combed the Chantry and those floating rocks back and forth and Cannot.Find.Him. Where is he??? -

Quote:Slippery Slope though... you don't need Super Powers to start doing that :/My "moral code" is fuzzy at best, Marcian. I see absolutely nothing wrong with permanently removing problematic individuals from society.
edit: forgot to answer for myself. I actually agree that the world is probably better off if some people are removed. But could I do the 'removing' if I had the might to back it up...? *shivers*
I guess it's best I don't have that 'might' -
Love the Utility of the Ninja Run Power, and love the fact that so many use it instead of a 'real' travel power. I like a world where most Powered Folk don't fly like Supes, jump like the hulk, or run like Flash, and NR makes COH more like that.
That said, the running animation annoyrs me so I jump when traveling as much as possible. The legs pumping piston-like while leaning forward without the torso moving much is okay (somebody running 90 mph would probably not have a jogging animation - as SS currently does). But I can't stand the right arm sticking backwards. Man I wish there was a more symmetrical alternative... The crouch itself doesn't suck, but I will not stay in it once I stop -
I don't know why the Devs don't look at the best AE Arcs that will fit within CoH Canon and make them real arcs, assigned to real contacts, and requiring travel. They already take the time to look thru them for the best (ie. Dev's Choice), so it sure seems like a grand way to get more content in the game.
IMO, AoE should have had that option from the Beginning. When making an arc, you could choose to assign real contacts to be the the givers of missions, requiring travel to them and around the City/Isles (Mish door intrances could be assigned at random once you picked the zones). It could still be thought of as a simulation, very similiar to how Ouro Flashbacks work (you're traveling around the 'real' world, but also 'in the past'). Even better is they could also easily be seen as 'real missions'... and would be doubly easy for Devs to make 'official' if they thought them good enough.

Quote:When trying to make ATs more in line with each other, You can't ALWAYS buff upward. If you do, then eventually all ATs will be too powerful for the game, and the only way to counter that will be to BUFF all the NPCs.Well I think that puts an end to all the " no reason to roll a tank or scrapper when u can be a brute" threads . Personaly I would rather the Devs buff AT's and content an not take away from the more popular ones.
Its like if your car is better than mine and instead of fixing mine or buying a new car, key your paint job so we can both suck. Brutes have gotten keyd !! Not completely destroyed, but not as " Pretty & Strong " as they were .
That equates to a global Nerf of ALL ATs - why isn't that more obvious? -
-
I soloed 5 tip missions last night at +0/+8 (my typical setting).
I didn't change my playstyle or speed at all and I noticed No Difference in my effectiveness.
Yeah, I know there was a minor difference but if I can't even notice it, how big a deal is it?
I'm fine with these new 'nerfs' -
Weird Rules eh.... Hmmm.
Nothing overrides theme. ex: My Brute is just really tough and strong and subservient to no one. So, even though a Ranged AoE would be really beneficial to her performance, none fit her theme. All those Patron AoEs... Unh Uh... She won't suck up to some idiot Arachnos Pawn just to learn a power...
Minor Weird Rules: never stand around in the Ninja Run crouch. When idle/not fighting, Ninja Run gets turned off.
Almost Never use any Jumping Power on Water. I can suspend most disbelief, but jumping on the surface of water pushes it. I'll Jump around bodies of water if I can, but if I have to cross water, then I will usually just swim. I say *almost* because if I'm in a hurry (like keeping up with team going to a mish) I'll sometimes go ahead and jump on water, but then I try to rationalize it be thinking I'm really swimming and launching out of the water like a porpoise or something...
If playing a higher level toon and traveling thru a lower lever zone, and some lower lever mob that can't hope to defeat me nevertheless dares to attack me, pop of a shot as I go by, I'll stop, turn around and smack them into oblivion for their temerity.
Generally, I'm an immerser, so I'll do lots of little things like the above as the situation calls -
Well, least likely to be changed, but I'd love alternate animations for the Vet Powers. I really wish there was non-Weapon/Item versions for Ghost Axe, Black Wand, and Nemesis Staff. They're so effective I have to use them, but they only fit in with a few power sets thematically. Maybe alternate versions like the 4 Sprint Powers...
And Ninja Run...Love what it does - HATE how the run looks. I jump whenever I can so I don't see the run. Maybe just the ability to use the regular run animation (which sometimes happens via a bug anyway)
Other animation redos I'd really really want is an alternate for Incadescent Strike and Solar Flare for Peacebringers. The alt. Eagle's Claw and Footstomp animations would work quite well IMO. Not that I don't wants alts for just about every power, but those two I really want -
I never got a chance to Team with my Brute in OB, but live I solo a lot at +8 spawns, and I did that several times in Beta. I never had to reduce my Enemy Count lower than +8. True, I had difficulty reaching 90% fury (never did actually), but near 80% seemed quite sufficient.
Yes, I'm wondering what teaming will be like, but really, Scrappers and Tankers are 'fine' as is, but Brutes simply are better across the board (yes, I have a lvl 50 Tanker and Scrapper too). A little better or a lot better is debatable, but they are better, and I'm fine with them being put squarely between the two Offensively and Defensively, via slight Fury Nerf and Tanker buff.
Alas, poor Stalkers... -
Got 3 50 Heroes. My Peacebringer (who was my badger-and-get-all-the accolades-and-6-full-purple-sets Main for so long) will likely stay full hero. I'd considered taking her red-side since she was my 'completist' toon, ya know, get all possible missions & badges on the other, but after more thought, I just won't do it. She's a hero thru and thru.
Ditto for my 50 Tank.
My 50 Scrapper will go Vigilante and stay there
My 50 Brute, who has morphed into my new main, will go full blue, do everything possible blueside, then drift to one of the Neutral alignments, Vigilante or back around to Rogue. It'll be one or the other...just not sure which right now. -
I'd go for that look...if it didn't cost me an arm and a leg
-
Nothing to add, really, but based on the thread title, I thought this subject was to be about new 'Lost' costume pieces, as in Abominations, Scoungers, TV-Headed Hulks...
and was perhaps the beginning of NPC packs...oh well -
I used to not care about the Market *whatsoever*... All Salvage, Recipes, etcs, were just burdens, good only for selling, and sold they were, to the nearest Vendor as soon as possible so I could fund SOs...
On my first 2 50s, I sold a few Purples recipes to some nameless Vendor for a measely 5,000 each... I do remember wondering what those different colored names on the recipes meant, and I recalled hearing people talk about the value of purples. No Matter. I sold them. Finally, one day I gave marketing a try... and I nearly cried when I saw how much Purples went for (and sold far).
I learned quickly, and put 6 Purple Sets on my PB in fairly short order, but to think of those I sold (alond with several LotGs, Miracles, etc...)... Ugh...best not remember... -
I really hope all this comes to light someday. And while wishing, I want there to be a 'random or cycle' option for certain powers, like SS, that causes all the potential animations to playout, similiar to how certain Dual Pistol animations does right now.

A Wolverine Clone down to the last detail, called, "The Original Mr. Slice & Dice"

Yeah, really hope Incarnate Powers are not tied to a particular being (Cosmic or otherwise). I don't like the Patron Power Pools for the same reason. Yeah, we can RP it away, but still...
