I think most DO get it - we just don't think your 'fix' is necessary. I've been on dozens of BAFs with my brute. I've had an AV give me the warning, immediately followed by the other AV doing the same more than once. I just consider it part of the challenge of this trial.

When the AVs are grouped and i get one warning, I usually just play as normal, but I have moved to the opposite side of one AV to avoid getting the other's attention for a bit (especially on leagues where no one is really helping get the aggro off me). If I get two warnings, I get away from 'both' of them.

You're not gonna shortchange your team. I've never been on failing BAF using these simple tactics.

Letting a secondary tank grab the agro of the other AV will easily solve your problem.

Also saying Held after you do get sequestered will let the rest of the League know what happened so they can act accordingly.
He isn't "actively" doing so - you don't have to actively 'tank' both at once. You just have to be near both at once and have AoEs and/or a Taunt Aura. I've had both AVs pop me one after the other on my Brute and I wasn't even trying to be the Taunt Bot for one of them, much less both...

Still, it's really not that big a problem - something that's actually challenging in an already easy game.

  5. Well, even though I don't really love the look of Gloom, I respecced into it on my SS Brute. Basically, kept build almost exactly the same, saved I swapped Jab for Gloom. Lost a bit of S/L defense from losing a kinetic combat set, but loaded Gloom with 5 Apocalypses and...

Holy Carp!.. I swear it feels like my DPS has doubled! Probably really hasn't, but wow is it a noticeable difference. Is Gloom really that badazz? Is it supposed to be?

So they're 'Dark' colored then? I though I read somewhere they're whitish looking but guess I read wrong. If they're dark I'll be skipping them - at least until PPP customization comes.

    Thanks
  8. I'm considering respeccing into Soul Mastery for my Brute because I could use some ranged attacks but would really like to see how the Powers look before I do. I've had, at one time, tried Mace, Mu, & Pyre Mastery and didn't like the look of any of them, so 'specced out of them.

Can anyone post pics or vids of Soul Mastery (or point me to links that do)? I needz a vizual What can I say - I hate powers that don't look right...
  9. When soloing, I used to run at +0/+8 on my Brute, as that was the optimal setting for drops. It was challenging enough, even thought I could run higher. With Incarnate Powers, though, +0/+8 was trivially easy, so now I run a +4/+8 as a matter of course. Even at that level, mobs like Counsel, Rikti, and Nemesis are still pretty easy. Rularuu, PPDs, and Arachnos, on the other hand, I have to plan a bit before jumping those mobs. Inspiration chugging and retreating are still used aplenty...
  10. Heh, funny stuff. When I first started...
    1) Thought once you slotted a training enchancement that it was like that 'Forever'!!! Didn't know that higher or different enhancements could replace them, so around level 3 I accidently slotted the wrong enchancment in a power. I wailed and complained in team chat (about how I was going to have to 'start all over') for a good fifteen minutes before my teammates figured out what I was thinking and corrected me.

    2) Wanted to fly so badly. Took 'hover' on a my MA/SR scrapper at level 6, then fly at 14. For several more levels I never knew you could use the mouse for maneuvering while flying (or running for that matter). Used only w/a/s/d/x/space for moving. One day saw a flying toon zooming along a train track and she was spiraling around it as she flew. I marveled at the skill she must have using the keys to fly so acrobatically and smoothly.

    3) Probably a year into the game before I venture into that daunting territory known as market/inventions. Baby steps at first, crafting basic IOs and always very small prices. One day I decided to finally craft and sell one of these IOs that go for millions. Put it on the market for 30 million. Didn't sell immediatley so I yanked it back out, and posted it for 20 million, then 10 million...and suddenly realized I was broke. I knew the market charged a 10% fee but I thought that only became permanent if you actually sold the item; that if you took it off the market you got your 10% back. I screamed in broadcast for 10 minutes or so how the Market robbed me of a couple millions inf until someone finally explained how the market really worked

Ahhh to be a newb all over again... good times
  11. Yup, it's really easy now. I hope they...

    1) come up with new Incarnate missions and TFs outside of the trials soon
    2) (re)Make a zone that is pretty much built for Incarnates (looking at you Shadow Shard)
    3) Make it so you can flag current 45-50 content as Incarnate (All foes automatically lvl 54, threads drop, and an Incarnate component reward at the end of TFs and Story Arcs
  12. Which pack has the the Prestige Power Slide power? Is that available? Make it half price

    Rogue Magazine

Very well done! And a Splendid Spoof of 'Vogue'. I look thru that mag on occasion to see what the latest 'heroin addicts' fashion is - you did a good job of catching that same sort of vibe ('heroine addicts') . I can tell this took some time and creativity. Kudos!

    i20 Questions

Interesting arguments. I find myself leaning in flux vector's direction. I too had a PB so purpled/accoladed that she 'shined from orbit'. Then, when the new scaling difficulties came out, she had trouble soloing at +3/+4 while all my other 50s could do +8 (some easier than others, but they all could do it). That's when 'relative efficienciency' became glaringly obvious.

Yeah, PBs are really supposed to be a team AT... I dunno, my Jack-of-all-Trades schtick sure doesn't feel special when Melee ATs can also do Ranged damage or when Blasters can softcap and Tank AVs. And again while teaming, there's nothing I do better than other ATs: a Tanker's Footstomp Damage is close to (or even exceeds) my Solar Flare (and doesn't KB to boot), my Ranged damage doesn't begin to compare to other ranged ATs. And put me on a team with a VEAT or Warshade and I get depressed seeing what other Epics can do.

My PB isn't touching the trials (and probably little else) until they see some AT love. Until then, my other 50s are making better use of all her purples.

    A Few Ideas

First, a grappling hook needs to attach to something (skyhooks are just silly); this would require making significant modifications to every single map in order to allow attachment points for your hook. Second, what about areas with little overhead to attach your grapple to? The Hollows, Independence Port, Croatoa, and Nerva Archipelago -- to name a few -- all have wide open areas that a grappling hook simply wouldn't work.
Way too complex and none of that is necessary. Yeah, swinging everywhere can be silly, but not really much sillier than superjumping on water, pulling a chunk of cement out of metal grating or swords out of your butt. If you don't like such a 'silly' power, simply don't take it, but let the player that do want it handwave the 'silliness' however they want to

(ex: like I do with jumping; I think jumping on water is so stupid that I'll try to go around water if I can, or imagine it as 'porpoising' out of of the water if I have to. I'd probably consciously limit my swinging to not be much higher than any nearby structures...)

As for as the mechanics. I think something comparable tothe VIP Jumppack mechanic, where you constantly go foward and up when space & W is pressed, with different line/web holding animations, would work fine.
  16. I don't follow the story closely. I'll read the text (if it's a new arc) but then I put my own immersive spin on it. See, my characters aren't really playing in the CoH universe, but one my own mind has created. Any CoH story elements that don't fit in with mine are handwaved away - that easy

    Vehicles
    Auto-leveling

So, the number of times a subject comes up in different threads has no impact on the Devs? One thread on the matter will always suffice? The same subject brought up at different times can't mean, 'Hey Devs, we have players that wanted this then, and want this now!'.

Maybe it would it have been better if the OP had searched for my or another poster's similiar thread and Necro'd that? 'Course, I've noted that people that do that tend to get lit up. *shrug*

So that means a GM won't curb-stomp a single or group of lowbies? And what about the lvl50s that can ambush? I've had lvl50 Malta (incl a sapper) Spawn in many zones besided paragon. And regardless the chance for ambush on radios is so rare - that alone nearly makes it a non-issue

Dude this just really isn't a good and common enough reason for the idea to not see the light of day - I've requested this very thing in suggestion threads long since buried

I've had 50 lvl ambushes from reg. missions in lower level zones, incl. the Chronos Titan (not to mention other GMs that appear during events, etc.) - the world didn't end

    Empyrean Merits

I got an Empyrean on 2 BAFs in a Row last night, and I know we didn't complete the badge list on either. I thought there's was a 20 hr cooldown as well, but there they are in my incarnate salvage box. So did a few others on the league. Maybe it was a bug in action... *shrug*
  21. A Queue funtionality for other things in the game besides Trials... Has this been suggested? I searched but no thread titles are obvious and I'm not digging thru all the subject matter.

Basically, the idea you could join a queue for a particular TF/SF, Hami or Mothership, or maybe even just a regular PuG, with a checkbox option similiar to the trials.

Then, someone could start a TF or mish team, but in an alternate 'Open for queue' way. Say, I wanted to run an ITF - I could start it, but with an option to flag as open for queued folks. Then, players that were queued for ITF would essentially start auto-joining my team. Once I had the minimum, I could start the TF for real.

PuGs just to run missions: I set a flag as leader of a queue PuG, then players that were queued for, say, *Any Mission*, would start auto-joining. I could lock it at any point and start the missions.

Is this anything that would be worthwhile? Have dev time spent on?

I'm not really sure, but I do know I pretty much *hate* getting teams together myself: the searching, sending tells, etc., that and I don't like the 'pressure' to get certain ATs. The rare times I do start teams, for whatever reason, it's first come, first server, not matter what we're doing. We'll succeed or fail with what we've got. Sometimes, the randomness is part of the fun. Some don't like this randomness (and have let me know in so many words). Others seem to like it a lot. In any case, with queue teams, you know what you're signing up for, so no griping.

Overall, it does seem with a queue system like this that maybe lots of other players (like me) would be much more willing to start teams.

Maybe it's a non-issue - there are enough players out there, it seems, that relish (or at least don't mind) starting teams/leagues. But I've seen enought tells in broadcast to know that sometimes people don't find teams very quickly. Maybe queued teaming would help.

    Lambda Sabatoge!

I'm starting to wonder if I was in this league last night (my toon was Kimber Lee Luster, a Brute)

See, after clearing the courtyard, I completely forgot about the turrets (this, despite having run Lambda a couple dozens times). I entered the door to fight security team (1 other toon followed me in). We were both fighting the EB (and actually denting his HT a bit), and I was starting to get pissed wondering where the heck the rest of the League is.

Finally, it dawned on me that I wasn't up there bashing turrets *sigh*. I figured it didn't matter by now, so I kept fight the EB and eventually the rest of the league showed up and joined in - I'm not sure anyone even missed me (and maybe I was in Brute-lock because I didn't notice any tells like in the OP, assuming I was indeed in this league)

I know there was some issues with the teams and grenade/acid gathering but I was too busy running through the halls and smashing crates and perhaps didn't catch a lot of the league chatter. (I normally do, and again this may have not been the same league...but the similiarities are eerie)

Outside, Indeed, someone made Marauder come over to the Acid container, but I can swear I at least didn't do that one haha...

So, if that was me in your league going to fight security team in too early...uhm...sorry, just a total brain furt. If not your league, then whoever's it was...sorry again |)
  23. You think you have problems - my PB's Photon Seekers die as soon as a mob touches them...
  24. Nope, however all my Normal Attacks are sped up with Alpha Spiritual, and those attacks all do extra Damage because of Interface Reactive... I ain't complainin'
  25. I wonder if, code-wise, it'd just be easier to make Ouroboros full coop zone for this purpose. Theme-wise, it's already the perfect place and is already set up as an Incarnate kicking off point with Mender Ramiel & Prometheus.

    The code hurdles:
    1) Limiting Heroes/Villains from accessing the other side's flashbacks, but it seems like, once you click on a crystal, the system checking your alignment and giving you the appropriate lists wouldn't be insurmountable (I know, Std. Code Rant...)

    2) Limiting Heroes/Villains from accessing other side's zones when exiting (see above). Personally, I think Rogues/Vigilantes should be able to exit to both sides, but hey...

Ouroboros really is perfect for the staging area.
