I agree, they could easily decrease the damage of Spectral Wounds and add an Immobilise effect to it. Et voila! An extra power that benefits from Domination whilst not breaking the cottage rule, just for those naysayers who think Illusion doesn't benefit enough.
-
Quote:Except there are other sets like Ice Control or Electric Control where Domination does little. For example, Ice Slick, Arctic Air, Shiver, Static Field, Jolting Chain, Conductive Aura and Synaptic Overload (only affects the first target). The only thing that skews the number of powers that are affected by Domination are the arguably pointless Immobilisation powers (I say they're pointless because they are easy enough to perma without the need of Domination, they don't actually help with survival that much unless you're purely ranged, and they can get you killed very quickly if you're on a team because the best thing they do is steal aggro).Illussion control, last time I heard, has big issues with Dominators. Mainly: domination does next to nothing for the set, since active pets are not affected by it. They would have to design (argue over, fight eachoter, settle for) some form of new mechanic that will take special advantage of Domination.
So I'd say there's no problem with Illusion Control and Domination. Maybe replace the Group Invisibility power because, unlike Spirit Tree, it does nothing for the user, but that's it.
You may as well say Illusion Control should be removed from Controllers because they don't benefit from Containment as much as other sets do. -
Quote:Except there's already precedence for so-called "low hanging fruit" to have new powers with Electric Control. There were already some electric control powers in game prior to its release but a lot of them didn't make it. Instead we got a new and interesting set. That's why it's a "low hanging fruit". If you want the most likely thing to happen, that would be it. If you want a new set, it's more likely they would spend the time making a new set instead, something like Radiation Control or a gadget based control set.
What I'm hoping is the case is that they're using melee set sales to generate money to do more niche things like Control and Summon sets. -

What I would like to see for Doms:
Dark Control
Trick Arrow (modified and maybe just for Doms)
Illusion Control
Kinetic Control
Weather Control
Gadget... Control
Dark Assault
Street Assault (Dual Pistols and Martial Arts with alternate animation options for Super Strength and Steet Justice)
Rifle Assault
Weapons Assault (Sword, Axe or Mace and Bow)
Kinetic Assault
Radiation Assault
A lot of them are pretty unlikely though. -
Quote:I'm not alone in North Wales! There's a spider above our bed, and it's really clumsy looking. It keeps falling from the ceiling, but luckily it hasn't fallen on my bed (manages to hang from a web). I want to get rid of it by killing it or capturing it and throwing it outside, but my girlfriend is in bed asleep and she doesn't like spiders. Do I wake her up and tell her to get out of the room, or do I leave the spider and hope it doesn't fall on our bed and wake her itself?

If I had to hazard a guess at some of the missing pieces:
1) The hat is connected to the cowl. This would make it clip with every chest detail.
2) The gloves are actually a chest detail. This would make them clip with nearly all of the glove options.
I still want the collar/cape and long skirt though. -
-
Quote:Would have been nice to have the cape mantle and the hat. I don't see how those would clip more than existing options do.Hey everyone,
I know there is some disappointment in a few of the COT pieces that didn't make it into the package, and I want to dispel some of the rumors that we do this to keep unique pieces in the NPC's hands.
What is more likely the case is that the pieces in question clash with over 20% of the other pieces in that area (cutting through geometry, in general looks really bad). In these cases we reserve the right to withhold these pieces in order to maintain the good looking characters you guys are capable of.
Not an answer that will make everyone happy, but we do our best to ensure that a vast majority of our costumes, current, past, and future, work with everything else. Not everything will fit the bill, and just work with one or two other pieces, but that is a situation we work hard to avoid in the first place. Sometimes a look just has to win out though, and the piece gets made anyway. It's just that we work under slightly different guidelines when concepting and making parts for an NPC group than we do for PC costumes.
EDIT:
Quote:So you spent all this time redesigning the CoT group so you could release Player cossie pieces for it, attracted a vast thread criticizing many of the changes (as well as some hilarious new memes), redesigned it again and then when it comes to release many of the things people were looking forward to aren't included because of "clipping issues".
Time well spent. Kudos to the art team. -
Quote:Just to nitpick: Dominators don't have melee in their APPs or PPPs; they get debuffs, self-buffs, toggle armours, PBAoEs and a pet.Controllers, defenders, and dominators also have melee attacks in their APP/EPP. I know scrappers and tanks that gear towards ranged attacks.
-
I do think that the Playstyle tab should have Dominators under at least Ranged damage and maybe Melee damage as well. You have Electric Control, Ice Control and Fire Control that benefit from being in melee, the rest can be either ranged or melee; then most of the Assault sets can be taken into melee or stay ranged. Dominators can also be found under Pets (along with Controllers) despite only having access to 0-3 pets at a time towards the end of their life.
As for the proposed forum changes - I'm not a fan. The only way Dominators Support (outside Control) is through -HP debuffs, much like Scrappers, Blasters, Brutes, Corruptors, VEATs, EATs, Stalkers, etc. -
Would also like to add that if a "simplification" needs an explanation then it's really not much of a simplification.
-
Quote:It's already simple as it is.While I certainly appreciate your viewpoint:
What if we provided guidelines so that posts were easily identifiable within each forum?
I don't particularly view it as pigeonholing, simply as...well...simplifying. There's a rather large amount of forums to sift through here on our boards, and to a new, or even veteran player who hasn't spent time on the forums, it's a bit confusing.
Forums should be easy to understand at a glance.
Got a question about Blasters? Go to the Blaster forums. What's complicated about that? The proposals are just change for change's sake. -
The finale looks to be quite packed. Hope it doesn't suffer through being crammed into one episode.
-
Why play? Concept. Not everything has to be min/max.
-
Quote:This. Seriously. I personally don't mind if melee becomes the focus (because AT-wise it already is), but at least break the melee releases up with other things like an Armour, a Buff/Debuff, a Control, an Assault, a Summon, a Ranged, or a Manipulation.Enough with the melee gosh darn it.
Give me a new control set?
Give me a new Assault set?
Give me a new ranged set?
Please?
*Cries*
I know that there's probably a lot of stuff they have on the go (I believe Tunnel Rat and someone else said on a Ustream that they only have a small amount of time to make FX and animations, so I imagine it's the same for the numbers side too), but only talking about melee sets is a bit disheartening for those of us among the player-base who don't get much of a kick out of melee. -
I had a Thugs/Poison MM that had magenta/lilac poison to look like perfume. She was one of those sales-reps you find in the perfume section of a store. The kind that just goes up to you and sprays you. The Thugs were basically store security and customers.
I don't player her any more but I've kept her because I loved the concept. -
I found parts of this to be quite terrifying, what with my fear of ventriloquist dummies and clowns.
Though I did enjoy it. I hope Amy and Rory come back. -
Quote:There are a number of fallacies here:She did keep all the cake to herself that's why she was hung the people of France were starving
lol
1) Marie-Antoinette didn't say it anyway. It's likely that Rousseau made the anecdote up. She was actually quite charitable towards the poor.
2) There were no famines during the period of King Louis XVI.
3) She was executed because the French population at the time were xenophobic (she was Austrian), chauvinistic and thought that she had toiled away the country's money on frivolity and extravagance.
4) Oh, and she was guillotined, not hung. -
To answer your criteria:
Good holds: Any of the Control sets will do really, I'd give the edge to Earth Control for Volcanic Gasses though. Earth Assault has Seismic Smash which holds.
Healing: Irrelevant... Well, there's Spirit Tree but that's a bit poopy.
DPS: Fiery Assault, Plant Control... Others are more for subjective, like Energy Assault is good for single target damage.
Support: Most of the Control sets. Thorny Assault, Icy Assault and Psionic Assault have decent debuffs in their attacks.
So there isn't really anything that can do all of it. -
Also been stuck on the "Retrieving character list" screen for the past 50 minutes.
-
Probably not for a long time. It's obvious that priorities lie with Melee sets.
-
I made a few characters since the headstart launched and, as always, I match the UI to the colour of the powers.
So one has an orange colour scheme, I log out into the blue colour scheme and the UI is now orange. I make it blue, select apply and switch back to orange - orange is now blue. I make that orange again, apply, save options/window/chat, exit the game and log back in. He's now back to the standard hero blue. I switch over to the blue one and he's back to standard villain red. -
Would like to add female Barbarian chest details seem to be arbitrarily missing from Jackets, Sleeveless Jackets and Trench Coats even though they fill similar purposes as the Steampunk corset. They are available for the Magic Bolero though.
