I would say that if you love shotgun, that you should continue with it. Hammer has a cone effect that matches shotgun's, or blades will provide a lot of AoE to protect you. I would say that if you focus on only 2 weapons, by the time you get to Transylvania you'll be able to finish the inner ring in a night or two (as well as get the skill points for the other weapons).

Approximate roles each weapon plays (note, there is some cross-over, but these are the main roles):

    Tank:
    Hammer, Blade, Chaos.

    Support
    Pistol, Shotgun, Elementalist.

    Heal:
    Assault Rifle, Blood, Fist.

A good place to start research for weapons is here:

IE: a QL1 weapon is SP 1 in either of the shotgun slots. and you also need some of the shotgun PA's unlocked so you have the powers to use it.
You equip a weapon at 1 SP less than the weapon quality. However, you'll glance (miss) a lot more.

Also note that you can increase a weapon skill by only pumping up one of the two skills in the weapon. It takes 55 skill points to max out a weapon skill, 110 skill points to max out both aspects of a weapon. The Rocket Launcher takes 35 skill points to purchase/max.

The USPO is a world-wide joke.

    Edit:
The patent, as presented, is overly broad and could apply from paper-doll programs to web pages to MMOs.

I've watched other players make the jumps, but I can't seem to match the distance. If there's a skill I have to buy I don't mind saving up to get it.
Turn on sprint get a couple steps running jump. It helps to have one or two sprint speed increases (you can buy them in your faction's HQ after certain ranks). There might be another extremely late game option that you'll eventually have: there is a rocket jump called "death from above".

None of that applies to the original poster. He is making a copy to his hard drive as an image. He is then using that file from his hard drive instead of using the CD/DVD.

Make a "Scripts" folder in the main game folder and put the new files in it. Like Forbin said:

If it doesn't say that you've joined the channels when you log into the game, make sure the two files don't have a ".txt" extension.

That is the thing about me, and my "discussions" on the forums. I never hated anyone. Sure, I'd get mad and blow up sometimes, but I tried not to hold grudges for very long. Though there is one player that is on my permanent "get lost" list, but that was their both in and out of game actions that caused that to happen (and that took a couple month's effort on their part).

Black, to my understanding, is good and profitable. Unlike going into the red...

  12. Oh, and if anyone hasn't yet bought the game and aren't opposed to Steam:

Steam has The Secret World for 50% off ($24.99 USD) until 4 pm Pacific Thursday.

If you buy it through Steam, you get (for all your characters):
    • A Black Steam Hoodie
    • A Black Steam T-Shirt
    • A White Steam T-Shirt

    Hello Triumph,

On October 7, 2012, I will be running the 6th week of Really Hard Way badge attempts for Triumph server in a row. I would like to start the trial at 4pm Pacific/6pm Central, although given the last few weeks, we'll likely start 30 minutes later. I would appreciate it if all participants would please arrive a few minutes early for invites and pre-run instructions.

I am looking for Volunteers for this now, asking that you sign up for a space in the run early if possible. Cross server participants are more than welcome. Extra damage, corruptors, and kinetics will be definitely welcomed. Please keep in mind, that even if you do not care about this badge for yourself, major damage or -resistance abilities are still useful to those who do care about gaining it and a filled team will have a better chance of victory.

The requirements for the badge are as follows:

Defeat Tyrant in the last phase/fight of Magisterium without defeating any of the Lights of the Well.

The lights of the Well can only be defeated by using the temp power: Quills of Jocas. They are one shot by this power, so I must be VERY clear to not use this power in your attack chain.

In order to win this trial, I am seeking several small things from my players. As I am very lenient, do not expect me to enforce all of them, but I do expect you to make an attempt to be ready. Remember, if for some reason, you cannot manage the recommend Incarnate Slots on time, having something is still better than having nothing.
    1. During the trial, play, don't chat. Chatting will get you killed. Chatting will confuse other players and make people less likely to see any instructions I might give. Chatting makes my job leading that much harder.[/COLOR]
    2. Realizing that the above will likely not be completely respected, I will do my best to also send my instructions to the Request channel.
    3. Be a +3 lvl incarnate
    4. Have a t4 Core branch Lore pet
    5. Have either Assault or Support Hybrid
    6. Have Ultimate Inspirations ready to use. The more the better.
    7. Be prepared to listen and follow procedures outlined before and during the trial. I will be checking.
    8. Expect the Tyrant fight to take the whole 20 minutes. Do not get nervous and jump the gun.

If you wish to Volunteer for this trial, now is the time. As said above, I plan to form this run at 4pm Pacific/6pm Central time on Sunday, October 7. Remember that space is limited, so it is on a first come, first served basis.

This is regarding the two custom channels, #OOC, and #IC.

#ooc is quickly becoming the VirtueUnited of TSW, so even if you aren't a roleplayer, I highly recommend joining it. the thread details how to do so, and automate the process.

Custom channels are still a little buggy, but I recommend trying anyway every time you log in.

I wish you'd quit posting these two, as hardly anyone is on them.

For a broader reach there is two general replacements:
    /chat join OOC
    /chat join IC

    Edit:
At the very least, include those two channels as well as the CoH-centric ones.

You have to sign up to the forums from your account page, not the forums itself. Also you need to wait around 30 minutes for the change to take.

Yes, you can upgrade your account (after it becomes active) to the Initiate, Master, or Grand Master pack (Master is included in the Grand Master, but Initiate isn't). The button is on your Secret World account page, and that is also where you would buy additional character slots.

Titles for a character range from $1-2 bucks up to $17 bucks for a SINGLE character
Pets cost $5 bucks dog, cat, or bird for a SINGLE character
Server transfers are, apparently, meaningless unless you PVP (apparently that is server and faction specific).
I agree that the titles are stupidly priced, but vanity items...
    Same with pets.

There is a lot of clothing that can be unlocked in game for in game cash and achievements. But the per-character unlocks annoy me as well. So do the multi-slot only costumes.

This is wrong. You can change costumes to whatever you've unlocked for the character (Pangea's, achievements, or item store) whenever you want.

Plastic Surgeon... either through the item store OR PAX. Admittedly, it is a large amount of PAX, but it is an option.
