Feel free to continue without me, I'm going to bed now before I post something somewhere on these forums that will get me banned

I think we've derailed Anyweth's thread enough.

As to Juggy's series, I have no idea A. why you're bringing it up and B. what the parallel is...
[/ QUOTE ]
A later edition Marvel Handbook page.
Another newer example.
An older Marvel handbook page.
Go take a look at Juggertha's deviant page.
See something familiar?
The reason I bring it up is that you seem to have a double standard, and I felt like pointing out that your standards go well beyond what I feel is reasonable.
[ QUOTE ]
Anyweth needs to remove the older works that are in question (or Devianart will) and move on. That's all.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you the copyright holder? Or are you just butting your nose in where it doesn't belong?
[ QUOTE ]
I have no witty parting thoughts or quotes, I don't find them necessary to bolster my post.
[/ QUOTE ]
Apparently you didn't actually read or understand the comment, or you just want to show how much of a <self censored> you can be. I'm not sure which.
Edit:
My point is that nobody's artwork, even yours, is original. This is why I actually despise copyright, even though I have to live with it and will more than likely have to use it. -
In Anwyeth's defence, it isn't stolen. It is her interpertation on the other work. Most pop art Lichenstein and Warhol (Campbell's soup can) in particular, is derived from someone else's ideas.
I notice that you are not complaining about Juggertha's Handbook series.
While the poses and themes are identical, the artwork is Anwyeth's own.
I close with the following quote:
"Originality is the fine art of remembering what you hear but forgetting where you heard it."

Please stick to creating original artwork. Thanks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, you mean like Roy Lichtenstein did? -
Back off! Without him we wouldn't have a steady supply of artwork in the Scoop.
Not that any of you are slackers in giving us some fine art to display in the newsletter.
Well, maybe The_Foo, but that can be corrected if he could submit something that we can get past Lighthouse.

In my efforts to learn Illustrator, another vector, a Blue Shield Version of the PPD logo:
Avatar at 80x80, transparent background
Avatar at 600x600, forum blue background
I might do something else later this week as well. -

Congrats to Aerones, War Face and Anwyeth on getting there art in this edition!

It isn't a contest. People are more than welcome to submit artwork they create.
After that it is what we can get approved from the Community Reps (we don't want another uproar about decency like we had late last year). -
My teachers are always saying to get a foundation in real life drawing, then you'll not have such a hard time "getting it right" while drawing the human form in different styles.

I really need to dig up the larger version of my current forum avatar and "spiff it up"

It's a nice revamp, but I am not sure if I am happy about Coralax and Legacy Chain appearing hero side, when they are still pretty vacant villain side. I will withhold my judgment for now though. I still think these revamps should be for both sides, some how though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, heroes might not be able to attack the Legacy Chain... -

I think Dirtwolf basically said "It's just easier for me to find it in this here thread, plus, if you put it here it tells me that you have given your permission to have it publicly posted in the Scoop and I don't have to ask you for it."
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, this still is the best method, especially for the layout people (currently Mantid and myself) when they have to do a last minute replacement. -
[ QUOTE ]
ok! Feel free to grab any of mine!
Also I propose that when new art is posted, if the poster wants to include it for submission they make a note of it in their post?
Like,
Here's a new Rowr pic!
LINK
P.S. You have permission to include in City Scoop !
Ya?
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey, that is a wonderful idea too! -
Hi all, we have a new correspondent for this section replacing Dirtwolf who is currently away from the game.
I now introduce StormyOne, please welcome warmly.
Thanks!

Well, it is a bit more complicated than that, especially with Flash
.
I've already taken 1 flash course, and I start taking my 2nd Flash course in a couple of weeks. Sometime in the next year I'll get a 3rd Flash course to round things out.
The paper doll programs are easy to somewhat complicated if you have everything pre-baked in the file, and get a bit moreso if you want to start calling them from external sources. -

If they cover as much as the in-game versions do, sure!

...well I have something that Sorah did a LONG time ago that is Roman themed.
Sadly it is far far too risque to feature in the scoop. You know... roman themes and all...
[/ QUOTE ]
You have my curiosity, but you are probably right about the level of acceptance we'd get from the community reps. -
I thought I would try a different approach to getting some artwork for the Scoop.
We all know that Issue 12 will feature new roman themed zones and costume pieces, so I'd love to be able to have some roman themed art (any art style you choose) to go with the articles that will inevitably happen.
Given that Issue 12 hasn't started closed beta yet, everyone should have a bit of time to come up with something. So think some of you would be interested?

Shy for this costume, if she was more lethal looking maybe the first one...

I'll agree with this. -

That's cool, Globe. I'll send Anwyeth up in here, she's the one that did that.
Or, alternatively, I could post up the "this was a commission, it's yours to do with as you please" docs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually I'd already checked Anwyeth's original DA posting, and seen the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 License before including it in this week's Scoop (The original picture in that spot on the front page was deemed "over the top" by Lighthouse).
Like I said, I just don't want any trouble from the art community. I am working my way through school to professionally join the ranks of "web / graphics designers". The last thing I need or want personally is to deal with someone upset that we included a piece of their art (likely close-cropped thumbnail, with link to the original) without their permission.
Most artists here are naturally wanting more exposure, which the Scoop is more than happy to provide, but I'm sure someone might eventually show up when the art "isn't ready", even though the person who commissioned the piece is ecstatic about the great work done. -
Hi all, I have a request for everyone submitting artwork to the Scoop. Please have the artist's permission to do so before submitting here. While I love to look at the art, I am (thanks to being in a post secondary art school), very mindful of artist's rights to control their work.
Of course this doesn't apply to anyone submitting their own artwork.
I would also ask that art be "not mature" as I am frequently having to replace submissions at the last minute because they are either too gory or too risqué (as determined by NCsoft community reps).
Thanks for your continued support of the Scoop, and allowing us to showcase all your wonderful works. -
