You are very lucky.
/gignore has been extensively player tested and it only blocks global tells. Tells sent directly to a character from a character on a /ginored account still get through. -
[ QUOTE ]
the problem also is they are using the free 14 day trial accounts to do this. Hasn't anyone ever tried the /gignore one on them and noticed it's also a giberish ignore name. The other problem is these are PL farmers that have no problem getting a toon to lvl 50 in a few hours. So if your gonna do it by can't send emails till a certain lvl or stuff like that it's just not gonna work.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not so fun fact:
Using the /gignore on them has zero effect. There is a break down in the system so that /gignore only blocks global tells, not emails or tells from characters on that account. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, not everyone knows your global to send you an email. Some players have friends they want to keep non-global friends. Plus, many DJs use the email to keep track of requests, with 100 people sending them tells of requests, there's no way they could keep track of that! The email allows them to. So, no... removing email would be a bad idea. Removing it from TRIAL accounts would be fine, I know most of the DJs if you tell them "hey, i'm on a trial so no email, but can you play this song for me" that's a few tells compared to the 100's they'd be getting with no emails

Have you actually -used- the in-game email? They have to be directed to specific characters, not a global names. -

Please use this thread to discuss the below announcement.
Unfortunately, you may be sent an unwanted in-game e-mail advertisements. Should you receive one there are several things you can do that will alert us to the problem and allow us to address it:
First, make use of the /ignore_spammer command on the sender of the unwanted e-mail. This will fast track the process of identifying the account doing the sending as a spammer and also add the user to your ignore list to prevent you from receiving further tells from them.
Second, make use of the /petition command to let us know what happened. This can be as simple as "/petition I received a spam e-mail from <name> that was advertising buying influence." You can also enter or manage your support tickets via the web at http://www.plaync.com/us/support/ask.html.

Lighthouse, can you pass along to the programmers the need for a button in the in-game email interface that:
* Deletes the spam email.
* Activates the /ignore_spammer on the sender
* Starts the /petition against the spammer for the user.
The reason is that the typeface (in this case mont_demibold.TTF) used by the game has a [u]known problem[u] of allowing people to tell the difference between "l", "I" will naturally produce false positives that the spammers will use (and have been using) to protect themselves. -
To let everyone know:
We are currently working on the submission guidelines and will be including them with all future Scoops after completed.
Having said that, We have a two week lead time except for NCNC articles. That would mean anything submitted after April 14th-17th would appear in May 2nd's Scoop. A few exceptions may be made, but only on a case per case basis. -
PM sent.
Edit: If anyone has any questions about why their article hasn't appeared in the Scoop, they might consider sending a PM instead of posting questions of this nature in the public forums. -
While the helm is called the Blood Widows, it is frequently seen on the Fortunatas as well as the Blood Widows. They are not exclusive to the BW though.
Some Wolf Spider helms were buggy and gave access to both the Wolf and Crab Spiders. -
Actually it is the issue before last (the April 4th issue).
-
Lighthouse has said it is a few week out yet.
-
Send me a pm. Also except for NCNC announcements, we have a 1-2 week lead time for outside stuff.
-
You're welcome.
I am still amazed at his Damen painting. I mean print-quality 40 inches by 120 inches?!? 1.7 GB flattened file?!? Yikes! Scrolling down that page and seeing some of the detail shots.
That he discusses some of the techniques used to make that painting in the podcasts is pure win. -
Huh? 32x32 pixels are not larger than the on-screen images, and would look like <censored> when blown up to 300 dpi. Did I miss something?
-
Edit:
I seriously over estimated the size, the icons from the kits are 32x32 pixels, not 80x80.

You KNOW that just means bunnies everywhere!

Isn't that what just happens anyways? Bunnies are naturally prolific after all. -
At a guess, you'd have to make your own.

I've been using a mouse, nothing wrong with that. Though tablets do open more options.

My top sites for Photoshop tutorials:
Pixel Perfect with Bert Monroy.
http://revision3.com/pixelperfect/
Bert is one of the leading photoshop gurus, makes photo-realistic digital paintings with Photoshop/Illustrator. This is a weekly video podcast (all back videos still available, streaming, quicktime, avi) deals with Adobe products, mainly Photoshop. I've been following this one since the beginning, and the amount of techniques given in plain language is amazing. Also check out his website for a few non-video tutorials.
A couple of the Pixel Perfect episodes deal with perspective (which might help getting a more dynamic composition):

The Russel Brown Show.
http://www.russellbrown.com/
Sr. Creative Director at Adobe Systems, if he doesn't know tricks with Adobe products he shouldn't be employed in that position. Fun to watch video tutorials.
For more Photoshop tutorials I use, see my del.icio.us page:

Heh, I was actually really tired when I posted the link. Thanks for reposting what I wanted them to see Globe.

Pssst! You're a moderator! You can edit posts and make it look like you never made a mistake and everyone else is crazy!

Sure, ruin my fun. -
[ QUOTE ]
Could I also re-submit all my above submissions???????
[/ QUOTE ]
Heh, no need. StormyOne has them and the permissions. Having them posted multiple times will not improve their chances of being in the Scoop.
StormyOne is also going through this thread and past issues of the Scoop to find any images we've missed and compiling a list for the current/future staff. -

I don't mean to sound negative, but when's the last time Lady_Athyna or LiquidX actually appeared in the City Scoop?
[/ QUOTE ]
Requests have appeared in nearly every scoop discussion thread, but there seems to be no interest from the readers to actually submit any questions. We have been asking for reader participation, without which the articles dry up.
Athy has continued to do Horoscopes (the last was a few weeks ago before the program she was using started to have problems). LiquidX's last was a couple of months, but like I said, he needs people to ask the questions before he can answer them.
One of the staff position requests I see a lot in PMs is to do an advice column. We have two already gathering dust, I don't want to add 3-4 more. If people want to read advice columns, people should start submitting questions to Liquid and Athyna. -
Correction Notice:
It has come to my attention that the Most whimsical hero winner "Sparkacho" should, in fact, be "Sparkachu".
We apologize for getting the name wrong. -
