Perhaps you would like to put up a list of art themes, you'd like us to draw... say for future issues? Oh and welcome...

    [/ QUOTE ]
I remember trying that approach for Issue 12 (roman theme) and getting no usable art... I did appreciate the one from Soul_Train (who acknowledged that it would be out of bounds for the Scoop) that could not be used though.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
There is, no doubt, a link posted in an obvious location that I simply missed, but, where can I find all of the "back issues?" I am doing some research for when the MA goes into open Beta and would like to get my facts straight (on various topics) in the prep phase, rather than have to redesign later when I should be crafting missions.

    [/ QUOTE ]
For the City Scoop, there is a sticky at the top of this forum:
The City Scoop Back Issues Index!

somebody needs to tell the GM's to update their links to Paragonwiki.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That IS the link to Paragonwiki.

Don't believe me? Then read this post from TonyV:
    [ QUOTE ]
    Explanation in a nutshell.

The two valid domains by which you may access the Paragon Wiki are:

    - paragonwiki.com
    - wiki.cohtitan.com

Both are official, neither is better than the other, both go to exactly the same place.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I wish people would get this idea that paragonwiki.com is not valid out of their system.

For future reference, the bad version is http://cityofheroes.wikia.com , NOT http://paragonwiki.com .
  4. [ QUOTE ]
All these pages and no actual information to discuss.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    You expected something else?
  5. Heh, yes. I do appreciate those, but we do have to follow the forum guidelines .
  6. Hi all, I like to say that even though I'm not able to post much in this section lately (senior project is taking all my creative juices at the moment) I am still looking in when able.

We'll be having a new art correspondent shortly (hopefully by early next week). This brings me to my point, I would seriously like to expand the amount of people's art we showcase in the Scoop. I know you are all as busy as I am (if not more so). I was just hoping that we could get more submissions to the Scoop.

I'll be collating the existing thread soon and I will provide the links to everyone and get a new thread started.

Thank you all for your continued contributions to the Scoop and your fellow gamers.

    -Snow Globe.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Hehe, a short but very good issue!

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would expect that for at least the next month that the Scoop will be smaller due to several reasons.

Mantid is away due to real life, I'm swamped with school work (senior project), and Charlie is getting up to speed on formatting. Add to that the diminishing staff (dropping out without telling the rest that they are leaving ) and you get what we have.

Despite all of this we are still doing our best to keep up the quality for everyone and we really do appreciate the compliments!

I can't wait to see all of SGs that create a mission and force players to run it before they can be initiated into the SG.

I imagine a good portion of these will be the same ones that blind SG invite people in Atlas.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Well maybe not. I could see the potential for SG recruitment as a standardized aptitude test. As in how well the potential member plays and if that play style matches the group.

It could also provide a fairly useful gauge if the recruit could get along with the existing members.

That or catch Positron in an incriminating position. Like cheating with his DM dice.

So, I guess you are going back to stalking Positron? I've heard that there are a couple of fashion reporters on the Scoop that would love it if you can catch any photos of Jay while you are at that...

    7. Extra Arrow from FBZ to Cascade via Mole Key can be added, if you want to denote multiple ways of accessing a zone.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Nah, too much info. Plus, you have to do the mission first. I've TP'd several people into the mole base to use the shortcut to Sarah and they couldn't use it because they didn't do the mission. Very few have.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Erm, this is not entirely accurate. You have to get the key to enter, yes. However you only have to do it once and you don't have to do any mission to get it. The key to getting the key is that you have to enter from the Cascade side the first time.

These steps are needed to get the key. Go to FWZ, go to Cascades, go to mole point base, talk to tech in base to get the key, profit.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
If your in you'd see the extra "closed beta" forums magicly appear anyways.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Likely not. More likely those invited will get a link to the new forum software to test that out as well.

I hope that for the Mission Architect, one of the datamining tools they use to determine who gets in is a spelling checker.

Given my feelings about that badge, I don't expect to ever have that either.

If you would like to do a feature article, have an event covered, or join "The City Scoop" team please PM Snow_Globe

One thing about this: If you send me a PM asking for a reply, please make sure that I can. I just got a PM from someone that has disabled receiving PMs, and did not include an email address or other means of contact.
  17. Right. I meant the second point of that post, not the first which was the one quoted:

    [ QUOTE ]
    Base building flaws:
The Mainframe/Magic Axis can attach 9 aux items.
The Supercomputer/Orbits of Control can attach 9 aux items. <-Flaw #1 it should be greater than the previous.
AES/Mystic Orrey can attach one Mission Computer/Oracle. <-Flaw #2 it should be greater than the previous.

    [/ QUOTE ]
All three levels of control items are now the exact same in terms of how many aux items.

That, to me, is a flaw. Each level up should do three things: generate more control, provide more aux connections, and allow superior items to be connected.

We have the first, the second has a problem, and the third is only partially done.

Admittedly it was worse pre-issue 13, but having the Mainframe, Supercomputer, and AES (and the arcane equals) have the same amount of connections seems a bit silly.

As to the last, the crafted auxes are still not a better option at the lower end, and there is no need for the higher end items other than decoration.

We need a large influx of functional items.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
The Supercomputer/Orbits of Control can attach 9 aux items. <-Flaw #1 it should be greater than the previous.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Why? The items it can take produce 10 times the Control of the Mainframe-only items. *That* is the advantage.

Besides, does anyone really attach 9 items to either? 9 on the Mainframe in a room that can hold them is way more expensive than getting the same control fom the Supercomputer. 9 on the Supercomputer is such overkill I don't know of anyone who's done it. I have a suspicion they gave each Main a number pretty high (assuming code required some number and wouldn't just take "Unlimited") figuring the real limit is by the room you're using. With Lord Recluse gone from the dev team we may never know.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would like to point out that apparently I was right in it being a flaw. Of course we only got half a solution (old versions still have the 1 connection limit, while "new" versions go up to 9).
  19. I just finished up the final fixes, I'm sure that either Ex Libris or Niviene will be posting it when they can.

  22. [ QUOTE ]
One, the clear-cut case, is where there's a bug that allows people to do things that clearly were not intended to work that way.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I found one of those in December (not a map hole). I did report it via /bug and by PM to Ex Libris. While someone did try a couple of times, they couldn't reproduce it and I was asked for a bit more info. I gave it, but I think it might have gotten lost in the shuffle again.

I can reproduce the situation at will now (on both live and test), and I know for a fact that using this would be considered an exploit. Which is why I have only did this on the test server after the first time (accident the first time, but after I knew what was happening I kept it to the test server).
  23. Considering how often it was requested that paypal be allowed, I don't see why people have a problem with it.

However to the above poster, guess what? No matter what form of credit card/debit card/banking you do, it is open to abuse. If you are that fearful/paranoid get a Visa or Master Card gift card or try to track down NCsoft time cards and pay with cash. Don't think that will totally protect you though, your job might be doing electronic transfer or you might be robbed the old fashioned way.

There are bad people out there, you do what you can to protect yourself.

    Reformed Badge

    [ QUOTE ]
I wonder what the response would have been if Positron spelled out all of the history behind this decision, but elected NOT to reinstate the Reformed badge for heroes?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would have been annoyed and asked to have the badge removed from heroes that had the badge. Yes, it would mean that I would lose two badges as well.
