    Birthday Art!

Hope you have a wonderful birthday!
  2. It is the sequence that the badges appear in the badge window. The badges are not in alphabetical order, they are added by issue. Within the issue sort most are alphabetical, but not all. Some are by category. In some cases newer issue badges are placed above older issues badges.

Gee i wonder if the editor of the scoop will want this toon included?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Just trying to be helpful. Feel free to include or not. Besides, I can find other ways of sneaking in my characters.

I really ought to take a better screen shot of her.
  5. Just an update to Dirtwolf's original post (borrowing heavily from it):

Just to keep it a non-issue, I'll have everyone submit their *FINISHED* artwork here.

I generally collect the links from Friday to Monday mornings. So if you want to have your commissioned piece or own artwork featured somewhere in the paper, post it here. note: please don't resubmit pieces.

I want - at all costs - to avoid any complications by my searching out and submitting the artwork that is in the Scoop. I haven't heard anything negative, and actually get comments of seeing it featured being 'pleasantly surprising'. note: If you are NOT the artist, please get permission for us to publish BEFORE adding your link here.

If you can put the title of the piece and the artist as well as a link to the submission, whether its on DeviantArt, a personal site, etc. so I can access it, it would be greatly appreciated!

Disclaimer! [*] Not all pieces are guaranteed to appear in the Scoop, do not take this personally or offensively[*] Pieces submitted must be family-friendly (I know how naughty people here get )[*] Additional comments attached to the piece probably will not be added[*] If you have an idea for the Scoop, or have an artist you'd like to see interviewed, send me a PM if you'd like to have an article submitted to the Scoop, PM VexXxa or myself

I'm interested in whether it's widely known and just not talked about, or what.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Had you asked that, I would have answered you.

In the early days of Issue 14 the Atlas Park AE building's Studio B was pretty full (even on Triumph and other low-population servers). A bunch of other zone's were similarly full. The difference you might be seeing is that a lot of authors more than likely have the mission creator temp power by now and can build missions away from the buildings entirely.

Clean out your inbox before I kill you again.

K, should have enough room to accept messages until I can spare some time for a complete cleaning of PMs sometime this week.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
If this is what you mean, it needs to be attached to a Supercomputer. It will not work without one.

    [/ QUOTE ]
It should also attach to an AES.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
1)Lets say that after 100 days of not playing an alt,or even one single day,you are swamped by Power-leveling store advertisement messages. If I were these power-leveling store pests,I would be upset if I sent someone advertisements totalling 500 e-mails,and all could be gone if there were a,shall we say a "Delete All" option? It could also be used for other pests who like to plague you as you play the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]
The only people that should be given this option are GMs when they ban an RMT for spamming. Otherwise there are (some) people that keep in game mail for reference (not me).

    [ QUOTE ]
2)I have another idea. What if there was a system worked out where your e-mail could deny an e-mail totally if certain words were typed into a registry list, like the names of the stores which advertise their power-leveling,or even the numbered price which comes with them.Ignore lists get full, and those snake-in-the-grass merchants just come back, even stronger.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Far too easy to get around. If you want an example, all you have to do is find a "Bulk" or "Woolverine" clone.

    [ QUOTE ]
3)There is no doubt that if #2 happened, they would probably check your global handle and start sending advertisements to that. What about a system which only allows you to get global messages, and global chat,by typing names into another registry list. For example, you could type @Samson Sledge for "Global Tell-Message Accepting" and receive global messages only from him,as well as regular tells from any and all of his alts as well by typing the names of all of Samson's alts,or anyone else you type into the list for "Global Tell Message Accepting",and only receive anything from them, whether it be from their global or tells from their alts only.Of course, something would have to be worked out so that other people can send sighted invites to you for teamage

    [/ QUOTE ]
This one is very hard to read. If you are suggesting a white list, we could use the global friends list.

    [ QUOTE ]
4)I do understand that people still do use e-mail to say hello to their friends and such, but most of the e-mail option is being used by those crooked stores I mentioned in Idea #1
You could shut off e-mail all together by adding an option to disable it until you turn it back on again.

    [/ QUOTE ]
An option to globally opt-out of the in game mail system would suit my needs.
  10. From the Badge FAQ (still 90% valid):

Do arch-villains (that have a badge linked to them) that due to difficulty or team size get turned into elite bosses count to the badge?
Yes. If you don't want to believe me, Positron speaks on the matter:
    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Will Elite Boss versions of AVs count towards earning badges like their full-fledged AV versions do?

[/ QUOTE ]Yes (there is no way to do this any differently).

    [/ QUOTE ]
There is your official answer from the Lead Developer.

    [ QUOTE ]
They have made it faster already.

And quite a few people used it before, as it is... because you are *flying.*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wasn't it the most popular travel power chosen, based on the datamining the Devs did a while ago?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes. It is also the safest so for balance it is slow. At any rate, only 1 of the Freebird set IOs increase flight speed. Maybe it is time for the original poster to add another slot (or two) to flight to put in flight speed enhancements.
  12. May you enjoy the "unforgetable" experiences that this real life mission will hand you.

May your wife get some deserved rest.

I also just noticed this at the bottom of your screen..
    toolbar
there shouldn't be that many things running at once, unless you are double-boxing. Certainly, you could shut down WMP and any other unneeded background things.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think you need a refresher course on the taskbar.

    From left to right:
    * Start menu.
    * Quicklaunch toolbar containing: Firefox, Desktop, and WMP. (Anything in this area IS NOT RUNNING).
    * Active programs: Seagate 160(G - open drive folder, City of Heroes - open folder, Firefox, City of heroes.

Not shown in your clipped version:
Notification area: 4 programs running. (I've seen a dozen in that area, so that isn't it).

The two folders are (likely) opened by Windows Explorer and wouldn't degrade anything.

I will point out that even on a Celeron 1.8 with 1 Gig of ram I could run CoH, Firefox, WMP, notepad, and a couple of other programs.

One can make up lots of reasons why or why not that smoking gun clue didn't work. Arcanaville wondered why either of them would be there if the Scoop was done. You wonder just the opposite. The fact of the matter is: she said she was there working late getting the Scoop ready for publication. The Scoop was shown to be already completed earlier in the day. Yes, maybe another clue somewhere else would've made her guilt a bit less ambiguous. At the time, I didn't want to make it *too obvious or too easy. So in the end, I left a gaping hole in her alibi that no one saw or put together. Is the failure truly mine?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Well speaking from experience, the Scoop is never done until the moment it is published. There is often something (it doesn't matter if the community reps object to something or I catch a last minute typo) that prevents it from being "done". I am glad that we give the appearance that there is such a thing as being done a day or two before though.
  15. It is for mentoring anyone while YOU are in SGMode, and both parties are active. It doesn't matter if the sk is of the same group or not.
  16. Hello all. You might have noticed that the masthead/staff pages in the last few issues have been fairly large. The image dimensions are 480x1313 pixels. If you want to have your artwork specifically in this spot feel free to submit in this size.
  17. It isn't being rude to point out the thread that the community reps put their approval seal on (which that thread has, and we've been told that the developers have looked at it).

As to using the search function, it is in the forum guidelines stuck to the top of each an every section for a reason (fourth thread in fact).

We have it on good authority that having multiple similar suggestions actually has the reverse effect than intended. Having the same suggestion multiple times tends to make the suggestion slower to be made.
  18. These suggestions have been suggested multiple times. So often that they are in the Base Issues thread.
  19. This has been suggested multiple times. So often that it is in the Base Issues thread.
  20. I would agree, and I would like to add that it should be fixed to actually stay set rather than be disabled with the next login.
  21. Congratulations @Sayaki.

I knew I should have stuck to my original guess.

    [ QUOTE ]
What I was shocked at however, that while some people guessed correctly, it wasn't for the one clue that I put in to point to the killer.

    [/ QUOTE ]
At a guess, it was too buried in the other, more plausible clues.

Yes. And you can edit the note as well.

    In game note pad

The developers have made the /playernote command in Issue 12.

This command makes a file in the City of Heroes directory that you can edit.

To do what you ask, you can use this: /playernote notepad
