These level pacts will be on Virtue. These level pacts will be villainside. I will start my characters in January. All the bids are in "Freedom/Virtue Influence Equivalent." I converted everyone's bid to what I deem that bid to be worth as "Freedom or Virtue Influence." Remember, the top 5 pay the 5th place bid amount. In the case of ties I will not be holding a bid off nor flipping a coin. Such ties can only be decided by tests of skill and awesome. A suitable challenge will be found to determine the winner. Obviously, you could just bid more in advance and break the tie. Currently, the top 5 would all be paying 150M, assuming everyone is still interested in January.

Haven't had any new bids.
Everyone who has sent me PMs has been outbid. One person said 120M x 3 . One of the 120Ms is barely hanging in there. Everything is still a go for January.
Come on, I've got kids to feed. I'm like TO doing situps outside of the mall asking for a raise. -
It's not really all that impressive. I have friends and family who play and don't log in all the time. Sometimes I boot up their guys, call up some troops, and set them on follow. I can put one power on autofire like Thunderstorm/World of Pain and use one or two powers occasionally like Freezing Rain, Painbringer and Anguishing Cry.
Playing 1 Fire/Kin Corruptor is more intensive than 5 Thug/Storms. Playing 2 Emp/Sonics is more intense than 1 Fire/Kin. The 2 Emps got too intense for me to be fun. I do it all manually, no key copying etc.
Real players and friends are far more fun and powerful than scrubs on follow. But 5 Thug/Storms sure is cool to see! -

I received a PM back from a moderator. The current thought is as long as real world stuff stays out of the picture its ok. I'll update you guys if anything changes.
I'd like to remind everyone that I wouldn't start my guys nor collect the money until sometime in early January. It is possible that at that time some bidders may no longer be interested etc. Also, remember the top 5 bidders would all pay the 5th place bid amount. I'll be converting all the bids to "Freedom Influence" for the sake of easy comparisons. Multiply Infamy by 1.35 (I might change rates later) and multiply money coming from non-Freedom/non-Virtue servers by .9 (the 10% market fee). Looks like lots of people want this done on Virtue. I want some cool zombies on Virtue.
Virtue it shall be.
Right now here is where the definite bids seem to be:
1) 90M - Via PM
2) 67.5M - Iridium (unknown server)
3) 50M - Via PM (unknown server)
4) 13.5M - Dr. Robert
A few people have said "a couple million" or so. Right now these 4 listed and whoever that 5th person may be would all pay "a couple million." Feel free to save up your monies and bid later. -
-
That's close to the idea. I don't really need the money. I do want to slow down their leveling. I didn't feel like figuring out what 5 people to choose. I figured this would be fun. I'll let you guys decide what a level 50 with no effort is worth.
... and I'm an attention oar. -
I figure the slope ends at "in game" for "in game". But I can see it coming out the other way. If so I'll just have to pick 5 "friends" to level pact
-
I plan on making a sort of "super-team" of a X/Kin and 4 Necro/Pain MMs. I similarly made a team of 5 Thug/Storms. They leveled really really fast. I realized I could level pact my new team of MMs to slow down their leveling and prolong the funnitude. I further realized I could sell those level pact slots. So here I am
Here's the scoop. I'll have 5 characters. Starting in January they will probably get to 50 within 1 or 2 months level pacted to other characters who don't even play. I will be auctioning each of those level pact slots for Influence/Infamy. The top 5 bidders will each pay the amount of the 5th place bidder. I'm unsure if I will start them on Virtue or Justice. You'd make a villain, level pact to one of my 5, then just sit back and wait 'till you have a 50. I'd prefer you not to play your guy, but its not a big deal if you do. If three of my 5 are within 2 levels I can Sidekick/exemp into a fine team. I'm going to consider Infamy worth 1.35 Influence.
Disclaimer: Hopefully this is allowed in game. I sent a PM, realized it was a holiday, got impatient and figured I could just remove my post if this is not allowed. I'm sure there are plenty of people here who can vouch for my services. If for some reason I collect your money and don't get your character to 50, or I break the pact, or decide to quit or whatever I'll give a full refund. Even if I stop at level 30 or something. I estimate 1 or 2 months to 50. It may be much faster or slightly longer.
Anyone have any interest in getting a level 50 Villain on maybe Justice or Virtue without putting in any work? -
I started a "Make a flat rate for each pool, end arbitrary pricing" thread on the Closed Beta forums. There was no response. I don't understand what the heck they are trying to accomplish.
I don't think they do either. They sorta just said "yeah, what the heck, let's just go with that." -

1) Do I read this as when you complete a Task Force, you no longer get to choose a random Recipe but instead have to go to a merit store and purchase a Roll on the Table?
[/ QUOTE ]
Correct. States and Recluse TFs will have choice between Merits and HO.

I guess drugs really are bad. Or maybe this was a typo on someone's part.

The devs will change numbers as needed. That's what data mining said.

2) Was there any discussion in the Beta about Villain Side SF Disparity and if there are any plans to address that either via this system or by the creation of new Villain Only content (IE, more SF's in greater level ranges)?
[/ QUOTE ]
Discussion between players - yes. Dev input. No.
Personally, in terms of enjoyment, I rank the 5 or so Villain Task Forces above all the heroside Task Forces except for Statesman. -
[ QUOTE ]
Not what I was expecting. A bit stunned right now, really. One thing I'm a bit confused on: what level recipe do you get when you buy a recipe from the merit vendor?
[/ QUOTE ]
There is a slider at the top. You choose a "level range" and you get the top level from that Range.
Essentially its about every 5 levels. Your choice. -
Neuronia, can you add...
1) Merits are not traded player to player
2) Merits are not traded on WW/BM -

WALL OF TEXT!
[/ QUOTE ]
I see lots of text but no walls. Plenty of paragraphs and sections. Great writeup -
[ QUOTE ]
What would the devs do? Easy, make a minimum price for items placed in the WW/BM. Example, lvl 30 recipe sells for 3k at shop, make minimum price to place it on the market 3k as well. That pretty much fixes everything.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why? Why bother do that? By following this guide all prices on WW/BM tends to have a minimum price that is vendor price * .9. What do you think is going to be "fixed" by having the devs create such a minimum price? -
[ QUOTE ]
I do however consider this as something that needs to be addressed by the devs to some extent.
[/ QUOTE ]
I try to stop this type of activity from being possible as well. I donate to the education system. Sadly, people are still stupid.
What would the devs do to stop this? More importantly why bother? -
Most of those guides are "I got to a high level and this is what I did" type guides. At the time most of those were written many players hadn't tried and might not have even seen what most of the powers do. At this point in time many players have at least a basic understanding of what certain terms and powers in this game do and mean. Those guides mostly provided an overview and anecdotal "this is what happened to me" type information.
Instead of needing a guide most people now have very specific questions about the use of one power verse another. A guide would have to be immensely long and detailed and updated frequently to answer half of those questions. Some of the guides actually do a pretty good job of accomplishing that (though certainly none I've written)
As others have stated your best bet is either to ask specific questions and for specific advice in the Archetypes forums, or ask some experienced players via pms on the forums or in game. -
Range is not considered in any of the charts. Range of attacks is key when considering AoE damage. There is a difference between having the ability to deliver X damage and delivering X damage. I have no idea how one would actually incorporate range into one of the charts.
In other news... I am super excited about rolling a WM/EA Brute named "JoJo the Bunny" who will likely outshine the original at high levels. -
There's no point in bringing up facts and math to the situation to counter his pointless argument. You could break down shield's endurance cost and attack powers endurance cost and show him the break even point where an endurance reduction is equal in a shield or attack power depending on how frequently you use the attack. He wouldn't listen. I'm his personal scapegoat. When something goes wrong, anything in fact, he blames me.
"The market is JoJo's fault."
"Bad Brutes are JoJo's fault."
"Global warming is JoJo's fault."
Don't rob him of what little he has. -
I guess the analysis of using mixed and matched sets would take too long and people who truly want to maximize effectiveness would do it themselves. I really think the work in here is impressive but I don't understand much of the usefulness of focusing on slotting the maximum amount of a single set.
It's like a min/max guide that doesn't have the min/max options for people who don't min/max. -
As of right now I own 459M Infamy, after market fees, worth of Respec Recipes. I will let you know how much these are worth in two weeks.
I like this move a lot. However, it butchered my schemes. -

All things Wentworth's and the Black Market. All Servers. -
I strongly encourage getting endurance reductions in the most often used attacks. You can mix and match cheap IOs to achieve this endurance reduction. These end reductions are ESSENTIAL pre-Power Sink and highly encouraged post Power-Sink.
-
I don't think you want to go DM/Elec. Even though Rikti are weak to dark you have virtually no AoE attacks. Builds that have no or weak AoE attacks are not good for killing lots and lots of guys.
