It was terrible. I've never had a team so out of sync...EVER. Really, I just had the foundation of the idea 'Speed ITF'. Seems like a Freedumb thing to do. Not a big fan.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Whenever I end up on a TF/SF that wants to stealth everything "because otherwise it takes too long" ends up with everyone dying and the whole thing taking longer than if we just ran it normally. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

I won't stealth TFs/SFs anymore, ever. If I start a SF team, I say "no stealthing". If invited, I ask if we will be stealthing. If they answer in the affirmative, I leave.

    Good Villain PvE

    [ QUOTE ]
Hey Guys, I was looking for an AT/Primary/Secondary that would be good for soloing, I'm up for anything but a MM.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pretty much any brute or stalker is a good choice. Ones I've had good success with solo are:

    Brute
    Super Strength / Invulnerability
    Dual Blades / Willpower
    Energy Melee / Electric Armor
    Dark Melee / Dark Armor

    Stalker
    Claws / Regen
    Ninja Blade / Ninjitsu

I also like Dominators solo, although it takes forever to kill things because of the low damage output, which it sounds like I-15 will fix (fingers crossed).
  3. Gotta say, I do like Captain Mako for all the reasons others have pointed out, but my all time favorite remains...

Doctor Aeon! I admit to having a mad scientist fetish, and Aeon is so incredibly entertaining, especially the way he tends to foil his own plans and his dialog never disappoints.

"Help me! I'm too intelligent to die!"

"Uh, I was just about to, uh, trick them, yes.
Well, never mind. We've got to shut down the PTS before it esca...um... aah...Explodes! Yes, before it explodes."

"This is just hopeless. Why do I always have to be the smartest person around?"

Dr. Aeon: I can't believe I just told them how to escape like that! Okay, just erase this recording and we'll start again.

    Bane Spider Executioner:Uh, sir?

    Dr. Aeon: What?

Bane Spider Executioner: Uh... You said you wanted to transmit this, uh, live...

Dr. Aeon: AAAAH! Shut it off! Shut it off!

The man has CHARACTER, and I honestly look forward to each interaction with him as an NPC and that's a tall order for a game like this.

Hero side, Dark Watcher or Lady Grey stand out the most for me, as they're mysterious and a touch darker than the spandex wearing freedom phalanx, and I like anti-heroes more than the four color crowd. Dark Watcher's story about wandering through alternate worlds including his stint on the Rikti homeworld facinates me. I'd love to hear that story.

Is it wrong that I want to actually go find bad PUGs just so I can play this?

Heh, MA really is getting blamed for everything these days isn't it?

And not without reason. I'm generally not willing to see if the offender is an outlier case, because those are, by definition, rare.

I have noticed neither an uptick nor a decrease in the number of n00bs since i14.

What I can tell you is that there were lots and lots before i14. Given those realities, it seems unlikely that the MA system is truly repsonsible for virtually ALL the n00bs we run into. They would have been n00bs with or without AE.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The difference is, we now have high level n00bs, instead of just single digit to mid-20s n00bs. It used to be that if you breached 30 or so, most people had a pretty good idea of how to play and the odds of them being laughably bad dropped off considerably, but now not so... you can have n00bs with multiple level 50s and not a single vet award.

Judging from the responses so far in this thread, it's no wonder this country is heading down the road of bankruptcy within the next 25 years. So many people expecting free handouts and welfare like it's a birthright. I guess there's just no such thing as paying for services rendered anymore. Ah well, I guess I'll just continue following my own principles and not allow lowbies into my AE teams.

I overheard this the other day...

Luddite Friar: No. Nonviolent protest does not mean "only knives".

    [/ QUOTE ]

Heh, Luddites have a bunch of gems.

I like: "Diagram one shows a nonviolent protest. Notice the lack of head injuries."

Goldbrickers have a bunch of good ones too

Just ignore the e-mail system entirely then. I personally think it's pointless because it's character based.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yup. Send offline global messages if you need to communicate to someone at an odd time.

I'd like to see a SG bulletin board system (something more robust than the MOTD).

I gave up on the email system a long time ago.

I wouldn't mind it being dark red-side more rather than just...overcast.

Sharkhead should probably have a funky colored sky with all the pollution.

I agree about St. Martial, it's awesome at night.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
    What if nights were longer?

Well... it'd be a hell of a lot easier to get the Banished Pantheon Masks badge in TI, that's for sure.

    And to spawn Caleb.
  13. [ QUOTE ]

I know people that have been actively playing for 4+ years and cant play worth a damn. Not pl'd. No farming. Lots of hot cat girl ERP. RPers seem to be the players that cant figure how to play.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Two things:

People who engage in "hot cat girl ERP" are not representative of RPers as a whole. They're like your weird Uncle Ernie who the family doesn't like to talk about, and you feel really uncomfortable around them, but they keep showing up to all the family gatherings.

Second, many of us can RP and kick serious butt in game. In fact some of us can even do both at the same time. I'm an RPer and I wish there was a challenge level 6, because the PVE in this game is often much too easy.

I also would like for them to get a clue on how to design PVP, because I'm also a PVPer as well as an RPer (just not in this game because PVP sucks).

This myth that RPers can't play is a false stereotype perpetuated by people who, for some reason, can't handle the idea of someone else exercising their imagination.

Five years of people going out of their minds for customization, and it finally arrives to a resounding 'meh'.

    We're a messed up bunch.

hmmm no feedback, guess it wasnt to good. oh well.

Actually I'm just in shock after reading this because the exact same thing happened to me!
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Yeah people I know who brought me back to CoX didn't like the term MRP because usually they felt it lead to the same crap, just another way to get off. :P

Personally I'm an MRPer, if stuff happens... well hey, "shiat" happens. But I don't purposefully go around looking for "stuff" to "do". Otherwise to me MRP is all about being mature about what is described or done in a RP format. Cursing, body language, violence, gory descriptions, etc/etc.

    Like an R-rating pretty much.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, my own basic rule of thumb is that this is a "T" rated game, meaning other people I am interacting with COULD be young teens with whom my mature self should NOT be having "mature" exchanges with.

Unless you know the other person in real life (as in actually met them, not just know each other from myspace), it's simply inappropriate to leave the guidelines the game itself has set of keeping things "T" rated, IMNSHO. Otherwise that hot 20 year old catgirl you described all those wicked naughty things to might really be a 13 year old boy.

    Think about it.

zombies and ninjas in particular really have a rough time until they get their 2nd upgrade skill at 32.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was fine as soon as I got my second Grave Knight.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
You can tell which pets have been upgraded by looking for the changes in the costumes. Bots will get a pair of red lights on the shoulders. Thugs go from T-shirts to tank tops.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can also tell by expanding the buff icons on the pet window. All upgraded pets will have the upgrade power's icon next to their name.
  23. My highest MM is a bots/ff and I can steamroll anything.
    Anything.

I run on CL 4 or 5. Usually 4 because I like the bigger fights rather than just flattening one purple guy. I can solo AVs without much trouble, only losing a bot or two, and if things DO go pear-shaped, PFF is there to save the day.

However, yes boredom can be a factor as you really become kinda extraneous after around level 30 or so. Mostly you're there to bubble pets and toss an occasional heal other around, but the rest of the time you can read or do emotes or post on the forums :-)

My second highest is a Necro/Storm which is much busier and more challenging but I find suits me perfectly :-)
  24. I've got a Ninja/Dark MM and a Merc/TA MM and I can say that the Merc/TA MM is much, much more combat effective than my Nin/Dark.

Maybe TA just doesn't suit your playstyle.
