Notice the "close" part? I've seen some stalkers with elude get through burn but its rare.
Not really allowed to call out names on forums, but his has a 99 in it. He actually has a video on youtube of him beating a fire tank. That fire tank looked pretty bad but I guess that's why he figured he could beat mine. He didnt actually loose but he came really close. In the end he gave up and quit the match.
My fire tank has around 2700 hp. He can take quite a beating. It does go down fairly fast when the base is camped, but most do. -

Yea you almost have to have accro at lvl 50 PVP. PB holds are really nasty without accro lol. Something like 10 seconds..almost as bad as the heavy hold.
[/ QUOTE ]
Makes me rethink slotting mez resist IO's. Haven't tried it yet but maybe its worth it since all there is in PvP now is mez resist. Might be a good way to skip Acro and save that end usage. -
For arena duels or zone pvp?
I recently dueled 2 stalkers. One is a rather well known em/regen in RV and the other was a old test ladder pvper. In arena they didn't stand a chance against my fire/ss/earth tank. Quicksand keeps them visible and burn makes getting a AS off close to impossible.
As far as zone goes, might want to roll with divines suggestion. -

Start up an AE arc so you won't auto-log-off. Stand near the other faction's base in the PvP zone. Go AFK. They'll repeated kill you and you'll repeatedly rez. They get rep. You get a PvP badge and start working toward your debt badge.
[/ QUOTE ]
If it's just PvP damage, there shouldn't be any debt.
[/ QUOTE ]
Also, you rez back in the hospital. -
With epic shields in RV it is damn near impossible. In SC against a sub par toon its completely possible. Personally I enjoy all PvP zones except BB.

So the Lady Grey proc will fire off more then ToD?
And as far as resistible damage goes, aren't all damage procs unresisted? -
I'm working on my Broad Sword scrapper and I'm planning on adding some damage procs to most of his attacks. I was going to slot the Touch of Lady: Neg Damage to most of the attacks since BS has a def debuff, and a Makos Bite: Lethal Damage into parry since it can't take -def sets.
I was talking about my plans with a friend and he recommended using the Touch of Death procs instead saying that for some reason they fire off more then Mako and other damage procs. I found this hard to believe seeing that ToD has a 15% chance and Mako/Lady Gray have a 20% chance.
Is it true that the ToD proc fires off more then the 20% procs like Makos Bite and Lady Gray? -
Does anyone know if this proc stacks with the achilles heel -res?

LOL, you mean if I refuse to build a 2-hit wonder stalker?
[/ QUOTE ]
These dont exist anymore btw.. or have you pvp'd since i12?
[/ QUOTE ]
Quite a bit actually. Yes they still exist, it's just that not all Stalkers are able to do it now, especially the newbie stalkers who haven't even learned to slot Stealth IOs. But indeed I've been 2-shotted several times. And no, I won't tell you how they are managing to do it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hes right. I've two shotted his toon on many occasions in SC. In fact i think I have one demorecorded. Sitting still in a huddle isn't as safe as one would think.
As far as getting drops, get on a team or make one. From what I understand everyone on a team has a equal chance to get a pvp drop for a kill as long as you're in range. -

How'd you get that?

Beats me.

Were you subscribed to Tabula Rasa? I remember hearing they gave away 3 free months for CoX to everyone with a TR account when their servers went down. -
Congratz on the drop.
My brother got one of the new +def PvP recipes dropped the other day. I thought the PvP heal proc was the most expensive until he sold that one for 600mil. -
If you want a easy leveling tank that does well in both PvP and PvE then roll a WP SS.
WP matures early and is a sold set all around. Although it may not be as tough as INV in the later levels, its still a very sturdy tank and is much more friendly during the leveling process. PvP is all about HP and damage now. WP has HP covered. Stack some HP accolades and Hp set bonuses and WP can take a hell of a beating in PvP. You'll want to pick up aid self for PvP, but thats why we have 2 builds.
Super Strength is one of my favorite melee sets. It has nice single target damage and foot stomp is full of AoE PvE goodness. For PvP its definitely the best tank secondary. Has a nice ranged attack with hurl and lets not forget about rage.
If I were to roll a solid tank for PvE and PvP it would be WP/SS. -

Someone please tell me if I understand all this correctly.
RULES:
1. Unique IO's (any level) work when in SC if text reads "*something* happens every 120" and is slotted into a power picked prior to level 31. (example: lvl 50 numina, Miracle, +Stealth) This also includes performance shifter +end proc.
2. LoTG:Recharge only work in SC if level 33 and below. This can be slotted in ANY power even one chosen after 30.
3. Enhancement Set Bonuses work in SC if all enh's are 33 or below. These apply even if slotted in any power selected post level 30.
4. Purples are exempt from all rules and always work.
Set Bonus' from ALL powers will be applied when exemplar'd to X level if all enh's are level X+3 or less.
Enh's (any level) that proc when a power is active will be applied when exemplar'd to X level as long as the power was chosen at/ or before Level X.
Examples:
6 Miracle level 40 enhancements socketed in level 14 Health. Results in SC = No Set Bonus applies, but the Miracle +Recovery will work.
6 Miracle Level 30 enhancements socked in level 32 Health. Results in SC = Full 6 Set Bonus applies but the Miracle +Recovery does not work.
6 Miracle level 40 enhancements socketed in level 32 Health. Results in SC = No Set Bonus applies, and the Miracle +Recovery does not work.
6 Miracle Level 30 enhancements socked in level 14 Health. Results in SC = Full 6 Set Bonus applies and the Miracle +Recovery does work.

The tyvm u added just shows me the pettiness of peoples wants here. I wonder if you might have a more beneficial quiet time in bed under your blanky
Plz dont reply to any more of my post tyvm

We go to Galaxy to get away from the "lf sewer" and "cc starting in 10 min" spam of Atlas which has been there for years.
Are you saying the AE/MA spam is more of an eyesore than those two which have always been there?
[/ QUOTE ]
Why do people think that if they do remove the MA building from Atlas people will swarm to Galaxy? I can pretty confidently say that if the AE building is taken out of Atlas, Galaxy will remain the ghost town that it currently is.
If I were to guess I'd say Steel Canyon would become the new "main" MA building. That or possibly Talos. -

I logged on my Ill/Storm Controller that has a Call to Arms (lvl 30) set in Tornado (lvl 35 power).
He did have the bonuses in Sirens Call.
I was indeed wrong, however I think this should be carefully thought out before large amounts of money is spent. Something changed along the way because it was not always this way. Considering that is goes contrary to everything we have seen in the past and also to everything the devs have told us about how IO sets are supposed to work, I would guess this is a bug of some sort and is likely to change. Be carefull of what you choose to spend your game money on because those bonuses might be gone with the next update.
That being said...I need to hit the market...
[/ QUOTE ]
Well it was this way since around i10 because I've had my toons slotted for SC since around that time. Seeing IO's came out in i9 I can safely assume they've been working that way since IO's were released.
As far as it being a bug, I doubt it. PvPers aren't the only ones that use this technique. I have a few PvE builds that use it for running TF, Trials, Ouro flashbacks, ect. I dont see it being the problem you're making it out to be. In fact I'd even go as far as saying its WAI, and if it's not it should be. Seems like a fair trade to me, gimp your numbers to get the set bonuses you want when you exemp. -

2) IO sets only apply if used in the powers that are active in a given zone. Sets put into level 32 powers and above will not work in SC regardless of the IO level, so you might as well slot them higher. The exception to this is purple sets. Those are good at any level.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure that is untrue. Sets slotted in powers past level 30 will work in SC as long as the IO's are 33 and below. I have a few SC toons and the sets slotted in powers 30+ still work there.
[/ QUOTE ]
Correct, it's the level of the IO set bonuses that matter.
I can confirm that powers gained after level 30 slotted with level 33 IO set bonuses will gain the beenfit while in SC. This applies to both set bonuses and individual IO bonuses (like LOTG +recharge.)
[/ QUOTE ]
You're wrong. I absolutely promise you they do not work.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, here is the proof that you are indeed wrong.
Picture of level 33 IO's slotted in powers after level 30
Picture of my toons sets, combat attributes, and grayed out powers that the 33 IO's are slotted in while in Sirens Call
I went to the test server to try it out and you do keep the bonuses even if the powers are over 30. -

Oh yeah, and I spose I should ask a question.. Does anyone think that they will re-think the changes they made to PvP? And bring back some of the supposed magic they took out of it?

Im pretty sure there is no chance of that happening since Castle and Posi truly believe PvP is better now.
Idiots. -

It does not make sense. Many villains believe they are good guys you know? Like nazis surely thought of themselve as the good guys during the WW2 back then.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Nazis, and the majority of Villains I've seen have the attitude of Might is Right. In other words. I'm powerful enough to take whatever I want.
That very attitude precludes the possibility of empathy.
[/ QUOTE ]
That may have been the thoughts of hitler himself but I doubt all of his followers felt that way. -
PvP IOS work just like purples. They exemp with you all the way down to level 1 even if the IO's are level 50's.

Wasn't Pain Domination made because Empathy didn't fit the villain "theme"? With the new expansion it looks like villain empaths will become a reality. Now again, what was the reason villains didn't get empathy ported over?
Sure pain dom is a fun set, buts its basically a rehashed emp with the powers they really wanted swapped for something else. Now that it seems like villains will get emps, the whole reasoning behind Pain Dom makes no sense at all now.
[/ QUOTE ]
So... you've never heard of Good Doctors becoming mad, evil Doctors?
There is still a question of flavour. Pain Corruptors have "heal" powers as a secondary, not a primary. So their heals will be weaker then Emp Defenders. Also their damage dealing blaster powers are Primary, making them much more powerful and a Defender's. So a Pain Dom Corruptor is more like a blaster who can heal rather then a healer who can blast. I think this distinction will appeal to some players.
Also consider that nothing perfect. The ability to switch sides is not a bad idea just because of Empathy/Pain Domination overlap.
[/ QUOTE ]
Never said it was a bad idea, but the reasoning behind Pain Domination was that empaths and villains didnt mix. Now that reasoning has been thrown out the window.
Sure I can see that a doctor could become evil, its one of the reasons why I thought they could port empathy over to CoH instead of pain dom. Im all for new sets, but I would rather have Empathy then Pain Dom if I were given the choice. Up until now that wasn't even and option due to the theme issue. The theme issue they referred to is still there yet it looks like vills will get empathy. -

I do it all the time in WB. Wait for a impatient stalker to AS, then follow up with a AS. Its going to be crazy in large populated zones like RV:
Stalker AS's a stalker after the stalker AS's a blaster. Said stalker then gets AS'd after he AS's. Then another Stalkers AS's the last stalker that AS'd.
One big AS orgy!
(AS stands for assassin strike, get your mind out of the gutter)
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but that's banking on the other Stalker being around for an AS (so you may be waiting around a target for another Stalker that isn't even there). I'm talking about a VEAT as a Stalker-hunter, since they can see a stealth-capped Stalker at significantly more than 10 feet (think it's 200 feet, as VEATs have a much higher perception cap than other ATs).
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I can see that being a problem for stalkers... but wait. VEATS suck now. -

I'm predicting that, for purposes of balance, they might just create 1 new PvP zone where the rogue rules apply. Otherwise, when you walk into any of the 'normal' zones, you'll temporarily be sided with your faction.
It doesn't make much thematic sense, but I can't see the devs letting Blaster/Stalker/Brute chaos happen, with the current condition of PvP.
[/ QUOTE ]
LOL, doubtful as that's more work, creating a whole new zone.
I for one think the rogue factor is going to finally balance PvP gameplay if it's a true cross-over of powers. A Hero Stalker will be unseen by most villians who haven't needed perception up to this point, and they'll pay the price.
Personally I think the Heroside is getting the better deal especially for zones like Sirens Call where they will finally have the ability to deal with the Stalkers/Brutes which have continued to stymie all but teams and Purpled out heroes. Two Fire/SS Brutes going at it! Hero Stalkers wiping out villians in 2-3 hits. Yeah, I believe there is some justice coming down the pipe..
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally I think he could be right. Going Rogue is most likly going to be a pay for expansion with a slew of new zones much like CoV. A new PVP zone sounds very reasonable.
As far as justice goes, I see this hurting villain PvP if the side switchers are open to all pvp zones. CoV's population is already scarce, adding the ability to transfer the AT's that make people want to play CoV over to blue side will only make the zones more lop sided then they already are IMO.
Heres hoping im totally wrong.
