  1. That's actually my blaster

It was indeed a earth/therm troller. As far as trollers go for pvp, stone/therm is a beast combo. Stone does great damage and therm has some of the best debuffs in pvp. Add the self heal from therm and you have yourself a excellent pvp toon.
  2. No double XP in AE and its a confirmed bug huh? Maybe well get a makeup double xp weekend for this makeup double xp weekend...

    Teleport Foe !

One thing I noticed with tp foe is that 9 out of 10 people that have it are bad pvpers. People that take tp foe usually depend on it way too much. It seems like its either bad pvpers that take tp foe, people who drone in a attempt to stop base camping or grievers.
  4. Interesting idea, but I think a "no set bonus" option in arena would cover most of the bases you listed. Personally I would never use it and think it would be a total waste of time but it would simplify your idea a bit.

Asking for a no purple option is a bit much if you ask me. They would have to be totally disabled because purps exemp down to level one. The class 49 idea wouldn't work.

Are you seriously nitpicking at that one bolded AT? Srsly? I'm not sure whether to be flattered or disturbed.

    Move on.

I think hes just nitpicking the one AT because of how wrong you are. Saying dominators aren't viable in PvP is so wrong it needed to be pointed out. Out of the three AT's you listed the only one I can slightly agree with is defenders.

I did, its great for stalkers. It's saved me countless times from AS. In fact it saved me in SC yesterday from a AS kill shot by D I V I N E. I also use it for the bad stalkers that think stacked stealth is enough to keep them safe while they stand still. Not as useful as caltrops but with Aim and BU popped its damn close.

    Need help

Thunder Kick, storm kick, focus chi, crane kick and eagles claw are the only powers you need from your primary with taunt being a option.

The obvious answer is no. The PvP aspect of CoH has never been a serious draw. Some say it's because the game didn't launch with PvP... and that might be somewhat true. However, in the intervening time, which was literal years, between Issue 4 and Issue 12, PvP zones were reported to draw less traffic... combined.. .than a PvE zone most players openly hated (Old Hollows).

You are correct in that PvP itself changed. However, what it changed into is not what the previous player base wanted. The previous minority PvP player base wanted an enviroment were they could... what's the term... wtfbbq pwn... other players. In the PvP environment prior to the I13 that was pretty much the only reason many of the PvPer's I came across were in the zones at all. They wanted the Ultima Online style of play where they could gank anybody, at any time. Going back to the start of CoH, it's easy to see where that mentality came from. Many of CoH's earliest aspects were designed to appeal to somebody who played Everyquest for fun. See this post : http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...9&postcount=22

However, the actual amount of players willing to pay for that content... in a different game... well. It's not actually that large. Players who liked that experience will find that UO servers are still active : http://www.uoherald.com/news/

Now, whether or not you like it, and obviously from your posts you don't, the changes made to PvP in I13 better enabled actual player balance. It removed the auto-gank opportunities and put players on a more level playing field.. .which wasn't what the Old pvpers wanted... and... come on. Lets be honest, PvP play isn't Paragon Studio's strong point. Epic Stories, Team Challenges, and PvE content is what Paragon is strongest at... and it's what CoH was built for.

My personal opinion is that the developers would be better off just dropping PvP play entirely. Contract the CoH brand out and have somebody else create a PvP game entirely separate from the RPG. Granted, I'm not sure how that would work in turning a tab-based game into a skill-based game... but it would probably be a better use of NCSoft's money.
  9. Think WoW with pretty graphics and animation.
  10. I'd go for hiber. The hold is situational at best. And I dont know about other people, but I keep a temp phase handy for when I see someone phase out. I've gotten many a kill that way.

You could always slot a hold proc in shark and call it a day.
  11. I'd switch if I were you. Shadow meld is great for def based toons, and can work with WP if built right. With regen it doesn't really do much. SM is close to useless on a regen, especially since they already have SM on steroids aka MoG.
  12. 6 slot brawl and wreck shop.

On a serious note I had a similar problem on my fire/regen. Are you using insp?
  13. Yeah, heavies and turrets are back to 54. Its too bad, this was actually a nerf I was in favor of.
  14. Remove PFF and cloaking devise for something else and it sounds pretty good. Personally I don't think a stalker should be able to get PFF. With all the good epics it can pick up (hibernate, shadowmeld) PFF is a bit too much. And two stealth powers in one set just doesn't make sense.
  15. Fire/ss is pretty effective against stalkers. It has burn to stop AS and quicksand to take them out of hide. Stone prision has a bit of dot that will keep them out of hide longer and the extra damage from FE helps take them down faster.

Heres a vid that shows just how effective quicksand and burn can be against stalkers. It takes a bit of skill to play one well though. Heres a vid of the same build (fire/ss) getting worked by the same stalkers from the first vid.
  16. Well, I'll be at work most of the day but at least I can catch the last couple of hours
  17. For a cheap build it looks ok.

As far as a fire/mm goes, roll whatever you want because people will lol either way.

    It's either:

"lol he sucks. he rolled a fotm psi/em"
    or
"lol he sucks. he rolled a gimp fire/mm"
  18. AE baby is a subjective term. Personally, my definition of a AE baby isn't a toon that gets pl'd with AE farms. Its someone that has a high level toon but has no idea how to use it or how to play the game. Example: a lvl 30 warshade that doesnt know how to get to Croatoa.

I wouldn't categorize someone that's been playing the game for 4 years and pl's toons as a AE baby. Its the people that have been playing the game for a month that have 6 level 50s and spent 90% of their game time sitting in atlas or cap looking for a AE farm.

I understand where the OP is coming from, but I wouldn't label him as a AE baby just because of a few pl'd alts.
  19. Getting banned from the forum is instant arch villain status.

Maybe you should try getting on a team and work together like they did. I know if my team sees a solo person in zone we spike them to death. It has nothing to do with grieving and everything to do with the fact that I'm in a PvP zone to PvP... go figure.

Just be prepared to see some asinine behaviour from people simply because they can get away with it.
I don't see how its "asinine" or "grieving" when you get attacked in a PvP zone. As soon as you enter the zone it gives you a warning that you will be attacked by other players. Personally I think its asinine to expect otherwise.

    Purple's

The whole purple shortage started with AE. Less people running regular farms meant less purps dropping. Less supply = more demand and prices go up. Although it looks like drops are bugged atm people seem to think purps are still dropping normally. My friend got 3 purps in 3 farm runs yesterday so things are looking good from what I've seen. Hopefully the death of boss farms will help bring the prices back down to a reasonable rate.

I agree that purps should be rare, but I dont think they should go for over a bil per set (depending on what set).

I guess it could be worse. They could go for pvp io prices...
