The best taunt bot I've seen in zone was a ss/inv brute. Guy had 2 taunts, phase and web nades. He would spam taunts, webnaded everything he saw, and rarely died. Elec and fire are better all around builds, but for something that can take a butt whoopin' and a half before using phase, inv is definitely better. I have both a fire tank and inv and my inv lasts longer than the fire before it has to phase.
Granted I'd pick my fire over the inv any day of the week, but the inv is a tougher tank. -
Elec will definitely work with phase and has some nice exotic protection, but I'd go with fire over elec. Just a personal preference thing. Elec is much better for dealing with therms but I love the heal on fire too much.
Dark melee could work for a tauntbot, but I'd go with ss. Can't really beat having rage kob and hurl for tanks.
On a inv I wouldn't waste time slotting for def. Go go for HP.
Inv has a bit of slow protection and end drain resist. As far as AS's go if you know how to evade, keep moving and how to use phase, stalkers should be of little concern.
I wouldn't really worry about +heal bonuses. Personally I wouldn't choose DM for a tank, but on paper using it for the self heal on a taunt bot looks like a decent idea for zones.
Again, inv has resist to end drain, slows and defense debuffs. It's pretty minimal ( about 20% each if I remeber correctly) but every little bit helps. -
The most durable would have to be inv tanks with wp in a close 2nd. The overall best tank would be fire/ss.

I only slot cj as a io mule for lotg recharges or kb io's. Its also a good spot to throw a couple blessings if you're trying to up your ranged defense.

Quote:You can keep trying to make that point valid, but it makes about as much sense as you trying to relate popping insp in pvp to popping insp in pve. I will repeat, I was simply pointing out the fact that "excessive" use of insp is a waste since insp were nerfed (and btw, dr and hd applied to insp is a nerf. gg on putting 2 and 2 together).Excessive meaning wasteful.... I should really remember to go slow for you. ReRead... slowly, and you may just actully see the similarities and laugh at yourself like I did.
I said some use them when needed... you said just fill up on greens/blues and pop when needed.
I said some will be excessive... (usually bad players) this was too quick for you so you went on to say that popping more than 2 insp is a waste and a bad player would do such.
ur dumb. Please don't rage on me again about a silly topic such as this.
[EDIT:] BTW, Were insp nerfed, or do they suffer from the same DR/HD as everything else?
You use insp in both PvP and PvE. Insp use is the OP. Stay focused.
The rest of the post was simply stating you were a bad player.
I guess I was pointing out the obvious in both instances huh? -

Even after the server upgrade freedom was still in the yellow regularly. I remember virtue actually took freedoms number one spot for awhile and was in the yellow more often than freedom. To me its pretty obvious the population is smaller than it was when the server was upgraded. Back then a search on prime time would show 1000 people online. Now I'm lucky if I see 500.

Did you even read your own post? You know, the one where you compare popping insp in PvE to popping in PvP (lulz). No? Its the one where you suggest we PvE in a PvP zone for insp. You said that people can use insp excessively like it even mattered. I'm pointing out that it doesn't since the insp nerf.
How about next time you try and do a better job at sounding like you know what you're talking about. Either that or try sounding less like a nub. -
Quote:There is no such thing as excessive use of insp in a pvp zone. Excessive use basically means wasting insp. Pop 2 insp and popping a 3rd is a waste. Try spamming greens in a pvp zone when your hp is low. After the 2nd pop you're basically just throwing them away.I think the best way to look at it is to comapre the situation with PvE. I mean, would you really give props to the blaster that just popped 6 reds and purples to solo a single EB... nah not really. Smart thing to do perhaps when the **** hits the fan, but it's not like you'd think the toon was good or anything for having to do so.
There is "effective use" of insp, and there is also "excessive use" if insp.
I see less wrong in a player that zones, kills things in the zone and uses the insp gained from doing so to stay alive and kill others. I sometimes frown however at those who will leave a zone repeatedly to fill their tray and actively engage in zone PvP only when that tray is full.
Theres basically two types of Insp users: Those that carry inspirations to counter effects, and those one carry insp to increase effects. The first group is fine, acceptable, and often smarter than the other group. The other group is fine also, but can often (but not always) include really bad players that assume skill due to their efficient use of insp dispensers.
[Edit:] Oh I forgot about a third group... those that will stay in a zone and never leave to get insp... and never take advantage of all the npcs around the that will drop them. These peeps will fight with real honor and will gladly be farmed over and over again, as longs as it means they did so with honor and by following the code of tru warrir.
Insp have been nerfed to hell and back. I remember when insp management actually mattered. Now you just fill the tray with greens, maybe a few blues, and pop 2 when needed. They've been dumbed down like the rest of pvp to suit the needs of bad players like Dahjee -
Quote:Freedom (and i think virtue) got a server upgrade to handle a heavier load. Still becomes lagtastic though.
But that was a long time ago, and I've seen it go yellow after the server upgrade. For awhile virtue took freedoms spot at the top and was in yellow pretty often. Then they both dropped into the green and have stayed there ever since. -
Did the servers even turn red last time double xp hit? From what I remember I had no problem logging in during the last dblxp.
Now that I think about it, I can't remember the last time I've seen freedom (or any other server) in yellow. It seems like the population of this game has gone down considerably in the last year or so.
I wonder why... -
Quote:I have to agree, lady is pretty beast. It seems like lady is the first locked on a target almost every time.@Lady Inferno is Venatrix who has come on as a surprisingly good blaster. Very fast locks and solid evasion. Definitely a D8 caliber player who we lucked out and grabbed on our D6 roster.
That said, all of our D6 players have shown a lot of improvement over the past couple weeks. Even Elf Stalker who at the beginning of the league could hardly land Total Focus on people in a match is now landing mad TF's to the face. Seriously though, all of our players have improved significantly, I really see our D6 as a self sufficient team at the moment, its really cool.

We still need to work on some things. but overall our team looks pretty solid. The guys from post op have definitely taught us a lot in the last couple of weeks and I thank them for it. -
Why argue? If they think popping is for nubs let them think that. Just tell them to keep being 1337 by not popping (and getting rekd) while you stay bad using insp (and farm them).

Quote:Yes you do:Actually with the $30 preorder you do not get the costume pieces. If you preorder you will need to purchase those seperatly later.

Quote:Man, we're all legends in our own minds huh.lol yeah I remember those pools of death... you say farmed... but what you meant to say was I wade made target number one after killing or causing death to just about everyone who got near the pools without 4 or 5 to back them up just to spike me. Did the same thing in the tram, Dumpsters, bridge, etc.. would get invited instanly to teams and set up. I'd get props after dragging peeps up to rooftops to kill them, I'd phase bomb groups of 6 or 7 or 8 in front of base to allow others to spike them and chase them back, or preven a single person from leaving the base for fear of tp ganking, several Global invites when I left... fun times indeed.
Don't say my Traps Corr is an easy target when It's not... You may remember me dying but getting farmed is a far strech. I don't see how you can recall any such thing. I made good on my invested time on freedom.
Fact is you got farmed, and farmed hard. Only time you even came close to doing well was camped in a pool with a MM or two next to you. You were bad. You only think you are good now because you play on virtue.
I mean honestly, this guy would phase when he was about to die and stick around dropping traps. -
Dahjee, you're that one trap corr that was in freedom's RV a few months back that hung out in pools and on the other side of the bridge at the hero base and consistently got farmed. At times I almost felt bad for you watching you set up a "trap" in a pool only to get face planted shortly after. I'm guessing the reason you left freedom is because you were a prime farm target and missed the good ol' days of easy pvp on virtue.

Quote:Those are both full of win. I've been wanting the auto recipe salvage option forever.
Auction House: The UI gives you new options for sorting search results, your Auction House inventory is now separated by clearly marked tabs based on the item's status, the Auction House text entry box now autocompletes, and a single click on a recipe displays all salvage needed for that recipe.
In-Game E-mail: You can now use in-game e-mails to send Influence/Infamy to your own characters or to other players' characters via in-game e-mails. (You still cannot send Influence, Infamy, or items from a Hero to a Villain or vice versa.) -
One of, if not the best selling point for PvP IO's to the PvErs is the fact that the PvP IO's exemp down like purples. Personally I think they should drop that for the PvErs and make it work only in PvP zones. That way the demand would fall a bit making the prices drop as well (in theory).

For starters, working for defense on a fire tank in pvp is worthless.
You don't have enough kb protection. You need at least 41 points.
Hurl is under slotted, you don't have taunt and you should pick up the stone epic and drop fire.
Drop the fighting pool for phase.
You should be building for HP first then recharge second. Your HP on this build is way too low. -

Success in PvP = having fun. Who gives a damn what other people think as long as you enjoy what you do. Drone, grieve, fiteklub, arena, zone... whatever it is you do, if you have fun doing it you're good.
Fail = Getting butt sore and/or emo over pvp in a MMO. Take the game for what it is, a game and realize this crap means nothing to anyone in the real world. If you take it for anything more than that you fail at pvp.
