The only thing that annoys me is that you get your token at the end of the cycle when it should be tied to the points at the beginning. When you pay for something you usually expect to get the product right away, not a month later.

First off I have to give you props. I've been freestyle battling since I was about 15 and I know the skill and thought it takes to spit like that. It doesn't matter if its written or freestyle, its a talent regardless of what some people may think about rap.
With that being said I have to give it to Kon. His nerd/gamer lines were killing me. And knowing you play a super hero MMO made it even funnier. You had some hilarious stuff in there too but I was just feeling his style a little more. It was close battle and very entertaining. Thanks for the post. -
Quote:(sarcasm) Yeah because you know melee characters have such a short list of primaries to choose from. (/sarcasm)
Its amazing the last couple of ranged sets they have created have been lackluster to say the least. Yet it seems each melee set they make just keeps getting better and better. I guess we know where their priorities are.
Well since melee sets are the most played I guess their priorities are spot on from a business standpoint. Work on the popular stuff first and make your way down the line. Sounds smart to me.
As far as lackluster sets, it's all a matter of opinion. I'm sure plenty of people love the new ranged sets. Just as sure as I am that some people will hate the new melee sets. In fact people are already asking for refunds for StJ. Your better and better is the other persons trash. -
Quote:Not really. There was a reason it was called beta. It wasn't the final product. If he wanted to make sure that it was a set he wanted he could have always waited and asked other players about his concerns. You probably have grounds to ask for a refund then, especially if the set you beta tested was not the set you bought.
Quote:Paragon Really do need to allow people to try before they buy when it comes to powersets.
I really don't see the devs putting time into developing something like that, but it would be nice. -

Quote:Mass exodus huh? Where did you find this info because it sounds like hyperbole to me.When server transfers got put in, there was a mass exodus of players off Freedom to other servers. There was also a mass exodus of players off other servers onto Freedom and Virtue. Virtue didn't see the mass exodus off (there were some, but not nearly as many as Freedom), so combine the two previous sentences: it now ends up being higher population fairly often.

I liked the guys name I saw last night.

Quote:I can see where you are coming from since every other travel power pool has a damage power. It would have made sense to add one to the teleport powers. That's just fluff. The description could just as easily have said that you teleport at the enemies. It's a teleportation effect, it should be a teleport power. In fact the same power could be in both pools, just with different special effects.
What kind of question is that? I'm going to answer anyway because I can't tell if you're serious: because we don't need powers that cause damage to allies.
I meant that the Teleport pool could use a real attack power like all the other travel pools have had since the start. The easiest way would be to add damage to Teleport Foe. Damage and possibly a disorient or immobilize effect. -
Quote:Not a bad idea about the gift thing. Guild Wars has something similar. On the characters "birth day" you get a free random pet.Just a couple suggestions regarding character anniversaries:
1. On the character list screen, I'd like to be able to see character creation date AND the issue number/name that character was created on. I have a rough idea of when i created most of my characters, but it would be nice to have a concrete date to look at.
2. I've seen they've added anniversary badges at the account level... however:
- I'd like character specific anniversary badges.
- Another NCSoft property actually sends Birthday presents to each character on their anniversary date. Something like a random orange recipe, costume piece, hero token, respec, etc. would be great.
I'm pretty sure they keep track of how long your character has played though. I say this because if you click on some of the pedestrian NPCs they tell you how much time you've spent on patrol. Maybe base it on time spent on a toon rather then its birthday? -
Quote:But it easily could be with one single grain of imagination.Like I said, I'm all for a Vanguard Mace, and even gave a suggestion for how it could be done. But yeah, like a poster above me pointed out, none of that mace is razor-thin blades of energy.
I figured since this was a super hero MMO (you know, a game where people can shoot lasers out of their eyes and control time) that imagination would be in heavy supply. Guess not. -
Its a bit ugly, but that is actually a pretty good idea and it makes sense... sorta.
I'd imagine it would need some tweaking to work as a mace seeing how long it is. -
Quote:I couldn't have said it better myself. And BABs is gone now, the weapons are no longer "Talsorian", and this is a game based on the superhero genre where Super-Science explanations don't require more than a hand-wave.
And did anyone catch the MACE shown above? The mace that has BLADES on it? Blades that could easily be changed into vanguard blades? All of the "its impossible" or "this doesn't make sense" stuff goes out the window when you look at it. If any hero/villain in the game can have access to maces with blades on them through patrons, why not a vanguard version with blades? -
And to be honest the test server has no real use anymore besides testing. It was used by the pvp folks on a regular basis but the pvp revamp killed that overnight.
-
Quote:This. They really need to do better on their estimates and start overestimating the time it will take because being off in the other direction almost every time is guaranteed to frustrate people.
And to top it off when the servers open earlier then the time stated it looks good. -

Quote:Its funny how many people will bash a simple easy to implement suggestions isn't it?Oh god now I know why someone mentioned in a newbie thread to stay away from the suggestion forum. Thanks anyway.
A vanguard mace makes perfect sense since maces with blades already exist in the game. -
Quote:Be a little more creative and not so 1 dimensional. Check the arachnos maces for example:You'll get a monomolecular Warmace as soon as you can explain how a monomolecular three dimensional composite surface can exist.
Swap the blade portion of the mace with a vanguard blade and remove the red tip, job done. -

So... is anyone else getting this message when they try to login to the test server or is it just me?
Quote:The game client was unable to connect to the login server. This may be due to a local network issue such as a firewall block, or may be because the login server is down for maintenance. Please check your network settings and try again, or check http://www.cityofheroes.com/servers/index.html for current server status. -
Quote:This game will be F2P garbage in 2 years or dead. Mark my words. All I see and hear in this thread is the same thing I've heard for the past 2+ years, "OMG CHANGE PVP OR I R QUITZIN!!!"....I'll see you guys in another 2+ years when you are still making the same argument.
PvP in CoX is dead people, just call it quits and move on. -
I'm guessing that hes talking about games that take place on battle fields and from time to time have some type of modern warfare. Not exactly a MMO, but it is stealing a lot of MMO pvpers... like me for instance.

Pretty much worthless. I tried a blaster build wih PFF and it kinda worked on people with crap builds.

You know, I resubbed my account just to post in this topic. I had a 30 day card I got for christmas sitting around collecting dust so I figured I'd use it and post here.
Now, what do I miss most about pre i13 pvp? Well, first thing that came to mind was in game friends. I lost about a dozen when i13 hit beta.
The second was the intensity.
I loved playing my blaster knowing I could lay someone to rest in a few seconds, but at the same time I could be taken down just as fast.
I loved getting on my tank and annoying the crap out of people. I could take on groups at a time but I didn't do much damage. You know, how a tank should work.
I loved getting on my fire rad troller stacking char for holds and being able to use my debuffs without having to toggle them back on every 3 seconds.
I loved when sirens call was always packed with people pvping, not 6 dudes sitting in a corner smashing their faces on the keyboard.
I loved...
You know what, thats what I lost when i13 hit, my love for this game. Thats what I miss the most. PvP is what kept me subbed. When issue 13 dropped my love for this game went with it. Its to the point where I'm not willing to pay for a sub anymore.
I know at least 6 people that would resubscribe in a heart beat if pvp was reverted back to pre i13, with me being one of them. I miss this game, I really do. But with pvp in its current state I would never re sub no matter how much PvE content they added, unless it was a christmas gift...
Now I know this will probably lead nowhere, kind of like the PvP suggestion thread, but I figured it was worth the time card to come post this if there was even a slim chance PvP would get looked at. Please give PvP some love, its been far too long since it was left to rot.
