Quote:I read this and had to double check to see if it was my post.Maybe... but that "end of game gear grind" is what chilled me on LOTRO. Once you've done the storyline, all it is is gear grinding for repeating the same raids over and over. I love that game, but COH's replayability, multitude of powerset combos, costumes, awesome dev team, and accessible forums are what keeps me coming back for more. Nearly 6 years now and nowhere near the end of my interest.
What would make it better?
New 1-20 content for alts.
New 35-50 content for end game.
More costumes (always more costumes)
Weather
A greater feel of being integral to the ongoing storyline. My tank is uber, I want to feel more like Statesman and less like Statespuppy.
A summertime event
More Rikti invasions - and more on that storyline
Ability to log new characters without returning to the login screen
Individual housing
A better base editor
More IO sets
You get the idea. More of what COH does best. -
Well i've got my answers, thanks everyone.
Just wondering did anyone get my title joke? Steve Martins SNL introduction back in the 70's, it's on a disc i have. -
If my account expires for 1 or 2 days, will my veteran reward count have to start all over? Or will it pick off where it left off?
-
NO Way! This will ruin everything about the game!
Early April Fools!
This a great idea! -
ah yeah that makes sense. Oh well it would've been pretty fun.

I figure all the new Super Hero movies will help Iron Man 2, Captain America, Avengers, Ant-Man (?), Thor, Spidey reboot (rumor), Hellboy 3 (i think) These are all coming out 2010-2012.
People will get into Super Heroes again and find this game the same way i did, google "Super Hero mmo" -
Quote:Well, is it possible to only show the name in person? On SG, team searches and all that it would still show Super Hero. But if you were to see that guy in a zone, his name would be different.Your name is your unique identifier in the database and the one thing that identifies your character to other people. Changing a character's display name with costumes is a REALLY disruptive way to handle secret identities.
And besides, how many secret identities does a super hero have? I can understand one heroic identity and one civilian one, but do you really need to be multiple people? Superman is Clark Kent, that much we know, but does he really need to be Louis Lane and Lex Luthor at the same time? And, really, how many different names do most heroes go by at any one point in time? They have a few nicknames, but are you really going to go with a nickname just because you're wearing your red suit?
Well there's always disguises. I just thought if you're making one extra name why not make the rest. -
I've been reading Ant-Man comics lately (haha i know ant man) and i thought it would be awesome if we could shrink. This isn't a suggestion, I'm just wondering if shrinking could ever happen, with the perspective of everything being bigger and that stuff.
-
Shrinking, like Ant-Man
And growing. HUGE over the max for character creator. -
You should be able to name different costumes. One costume is Super Hero and the other is Carl Bryer. Maybe you might have a Super Hero 2. Or for robots a second generation or a different setting/mode. When you switch between costumes the name changes, default is original name. Original name will still show up just in small letters.

Yeah, i hope the Devs see it too, so i keep posting new ideas. I don't have anymore right now, Coolio covered almost all of them.
-
Quote:oh yeah, i saw that, i don't think they could add a maze of sewer though.Well the ninja turtles base from the cgi movie lol. With the secret opening that goes to it!
Another one might be a helicopter, that would be less of a secret but still, someone's base might be in France or something. -
Shape shifting
Strechty (plastic man, Mr. Fantasic etc.) -

Quote:Where would the lift be? Maybe a building that's an office but there's an elevator that takes you up, so it's a cover building. The telepad would be very cool but they'd have to add space walls so it looks like you're looking into space. You know I would take the SG lift or aka elevator.. you know like with the X-Men or the Avengers.. or cooler still, a SG in space and we take a telepad up to it? that'll be cool
Another could be a hole in the ground. Like in the Mercy snake missions.
I'm not sure how this could be done but an underwater one, i was in a mission map and i could swim underwater, but only in that one small body. Maybe there would be one of those and under the water would be a hatch or door. -
The bonus would be small, if you have any more ideas post them on my thread so it can get back up to the first page, and maybe help this lvl 32+ problem.
-
If you're looking for new mission types, check out my Epic Street Battles thread. We could always make it 35+

Quote:Yes, I'm very bad at doing things like that and would've turned out terrible. But this is pretty much it, modified to fit the game better.Power Pool: Super Senses
Detect Scent (T1)
Toggle: +DEF (Melee), +RES (Defence debuff,)
Acute Hearing (T2)
Toggle: +DEF (Ranged, AoE), +Perception
Ultra-Optics (T3)
Auto: +Range (Ranged attacks), +ToHit, +RES (ToHit debuff)
Extra-Sensory Perception (T4)
Click: +RES (All except Psionic), +DEF (All), +Perception
----
Maybe it just needs laying out a bit better, how about this? -
We don't need this, look at the thread that has NPC's in SG bases, that's what we need.
-
This idea is sort of like "Spidey Sense" and i got the idea from D&D online.
Super Sight- see stealthed enemies better and glowies ring louder to represent better sight of them
Super Hearing- "hears" stealthed enemies a little better and "hears" enemies that are nearby but out of sight only if they're walking, not standing in one place. Doesn't include ambushes and patrols ( a red jagged line starts blinking above your head when you "hear" them)
6th Sense- Can sense nearby enemies better than hearing and even if they're standing in one place. Includes ambushes and patrols. Same sign as hearing.
I know 6S and SH are similar, they're mostly for RP reasons but not exactly the same anyways.
I might think of more later or people might post more, then i'll edit them in. -
Quote:This would be great, it's realistic and would make less purse snatchers because if you keep to the main street, you might not see those in the alleys and parking lots.I can't recall the source at the moment, but I recall a comment related to this. It was something along the lines of that's how they tried it at first... but then they found that people had a hard time finding enemies for hunt missions or street sweeping. So, there was a conflict between realism and ease of gameplay... and the end result was putting more spawns in the streets. Or something like that, it's only a vague recollection.
Still, that was then, and this is now. It might be time to re-examine things. It was mentioned in the Herocon Panel that gave the ultramode demo that the Praetorian Clockwork only mess with you if you mess with them... I think that would be a great technology to bring to some of the other spawns as well (assuming it's actually new AI and not just making their aggro distance really really small, like with leaderless Vahz Zombies). For some of the outdoor spawns, anyway.
So, for example, you have your gang members in the back alleys and dark corners of the city. They're the ones doing the illegal stuff. Mugging people, trying to break into buildings, beating up innocents, etc.., and they'll react the same way they do now. They're doing something wrong, and they know it. If they notice you, they'll attack.
But the ones on the street act differently. They shouldn't do the overt crimes... if any. They just loiter around, talk to their girlfriends, maybe get a bit rowdy and yell at people passing by... but nothing that would really make a person stop and think "This is WRONG! I should stop them!". Their only real crime is wearing gang colors. So, they won't attack you unless you attack them first. If they can get away with standing around, they don't wanna start any trouble. Plus, gives good space for a few new lines about how the heroes in this city go around shooting fire at people who's only crime is standing around.
That's how I'd do it, anyway. Not sure how feasible it is to go back and redo the old spawns like that, though. -
The apartments would be great. But costing inf.? It would have to be a very low amount because most people spend inf. on inspirations and such. That's probably why they made prestige.
No upkeep and make it pretty cheap and it might work. -

It seems doable, and i like almost anything that makes the game unique and more heroish or villainish -
Could be cool, but i think you could elaborate a bit more.
-
Windows should also be able to show sewers.
Other than that /signed.
