  1. Stargazer sums it up.

There may not be a slotting option for acc in cloud, but the acc bonus from the HO/IOs cannot be stopped from working on the power slotted, unless the power is flagged unenhanceable (like recharge on SOW)

This is a well known trick used with HOs for as long as theyve been in game, and IOs since their implementation.

In a power like choking cloud it is invaluable, because it suffers from a lower accuracy to begin with, and needs acc, hold, and end reduction all to be as close to 95% as possible. So its nice to have a workaround to the no slotting accuracy directly issue.
  2. Not positive about the damage, but from my experience the stun seems to auto hit. I think the stun is mag30 or something quite powerful.
  3. 1. Sands of Mu. At low levels this is the only thing that makes them playable. I weep for new players who dont have it.
    2. Nem staff/wand. Same as sands, but longer vet time to get.
    3. Respecs. You can never have too many respecs.
    4. Championship belt. It lets everyone who wants to fight you know whos the champ. Suckas.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Awesome. But didnt they remove the ability to spam emotes now? My slap spams got broken some time ago. I havent tried the /frustrated one in a long time either...but its a classic .
  5. I use lockdown +2, 4 basilisks, and a hami mez/acc in my choking cloud, and I love it. Could be slightly better on end reduction (only 60% ish) but hold and acc are capped and you get those juicy bonuses from Basilisks.

With the proc in there I can hold bosses in one pulse if Im lucky.
  6. No doubt.

Had plenty enough longbums and acrapnos while levelling up to last a lifetime. Now its a steady diet of nems/CoT and freaks.

But I do like to jump on test and butcher my build now and then for curiosities sake.
  7. Yep this might be the last remaining vestige of JRanger on the forums...

    to that I must say:

    NO.
  8. One suggestion I have is to pick up air superiority early on as a mitigation tool and extra fast recharging attack to build fury. Then respec out of it later once you go down the fighting pool route and exchange it for boxing.

That extra attack with guaranteed Knockdown makes a big difference early on in making a attack chain that doesnt drop your blue bar in 4 button mashes.
  9. Yeah I just use that winters gift IO in superspeed for my slow resists. I wish they would add a little S/L resist to temp protection to make it actually worth taking. Even at 20% slow resist its still a pretty weak pick IMO.

Heh looking at all these SS/Fires makes me think of ice cream. Lots of different flavors, but all are delicious. Now if we could only keep the ice cream from melting... tough to do in a burn patch.

Back on target, Slow resists are actually pretty useful for a heavy recharge SS/Fire build, because -rech really messes up all the hard work you did to get the build to high rech in the first place. I might jump on test and respec into temp protection and see how it works in conjunction with the winters gift for a full 40% resist to slow.

Then time to pick on a herd of fortunatas/tarantulas to see how well the resists hold up.

Not something I deem needed, but might be interesting to see if it makes a noticable difference.

Why would a level 16 need a shivan?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would have to say that after reading the OP's responses in this thread, he needs shivans because his bad attitude makes him a poor teammate, and inability to follow simple instructions makes soloing difficult for him. At least shivans won't get disgusted with him and quit his team.

    [/ QUOTE ]

heh after reading through this string of posts this about sums it up.
  12. Skyline-- I dont like the jab pick and slotting, otherwise it looks decently functional. Not sure why you need temp protection, and blazing aura is very underslotted.

The major issue to me is the jab pick instead of punch, and slotting jab and KB blow with non damage sets makes for slow boss fights.

I think if you juggled slots around from your shields to add to blazing aura, and reslotted KB Blow especially with a damage set you would be much better off.

    Cheers.

TwinBlades-- to answer your question on costs...all i can say is start grinding. This was the hardest build I ever slotted, due to redside market mostly, but thankfully i built off alot of cap run lewt. Nowdays this build would cripple an infamy pile.

    good luck.
  13. Yours looks good. Its pretty similar to what I use for mine. I work around punch proccing heavily for boss fights, and spamming footstomp every 6 seconds or so, as well as fences and burn/ball lightning for big spawns.

  16. Actually im impressed you got so much ranged def without weave. Good job on the build- looks like a fun hybrid of ranged def/ recharge.

I personally use two builds to achieve def or recharge. one is capped ranged with moderate recharge, and one is pure recharge well over perma hasten. This build is a nice mix of both, and you dont have to go back to the damn trainer every time you want to switch like I do.. plus you only needed half as many sets... building two expensive final builds on one character hurt the inf pile.
  17. Depends on which nuke it is:

Blizzard I use every chance I get.

Inferno/Nova/Wail/PBAoE types I use when its fun, or at the end of missions or if my end is already critically low. But these usually do lower overall DPS alot. Especially on builds where you have massive global recharge built in from set bonuses.

Rain of arrows isnt really a true nuke, but again I use it every chance I get.

Thunderous blast I also would use every chance I get if you carry blues, and also have /electric as your secondary. Nuke, pop blue, power sink next mob (on teams with aggro control), attack chain till nuke recharge, repeat.

This only appliess to my blasters though. On ATs that get nukes that arent blasters (Defenders, Corrs) I generally skip the nuke completely (unless its blizzard).

Blaster nukes are a worthy use of the endurance in some cases, and a wasteful use in others, but damn arent they fun.

Are you fighting from range and spamming Chilblain?

Of course, I'm assuming you have Chilblain well-slotted.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Truth.

Chillblain is probably the best tier 1 secondary power blasters can get. I dont even hover blast on my Ice/Ice/cold, i just run circle strafes and chillblain tough enemies until they stop in their tracks, then proceed to trow snow at them till they drop.

Slot it for damage IMO. I use decimation in 5 slots (all but chance for build up) and then fill in the 6th with the trap of the hunter proc- I used the apocalypse proc already in ice bolt, or I would have put that in there lol. I like procs in the super fast spammy attacks- you get tons of DPS out of them.

Drop an ice patch then stand behind it so they have to run through it to get to you and spam chillblain a couple times, and voila, no need to worry about melee mobs ever touching you.

Ice/Ice/Cold gets my vote by far out of all of my blasters as the best solo fun. Flash freeze to open, then shiver, then ice patch, and you have a fish in a barrel scenario.

And dont get me started on Blizzard... so.much.fun.

Which one of you is the Scrapper who died 11 times in my mission yesterday?

Seriously I have no problem with a well played Scrapper. But renegade team members are something else altogether. If your way of letting us know you want us to move faster is turning your health bar red, you're going to get let go.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dude. None of the scrappers on the forums are the guy who died 11 times on your mission yesterday. People who take time to read and post in the forums are likely the top-tier scrappers who are the ones successfully tanking for teams of 8 with or without a actual tank on the team.

You are encountering players who probably never read the forums, take little time in planning a build, and do not know their true capabilities.

These are not the scrappers you are looking for.
