o.o no sheepish sounds for you! sure, the first restart doc wasn't that great and didn't stick around for even a whole season, but the current one (US is getting the seasons a yr behind) is much better!

<.< I think some of us are looking at this wrongly. Vets will get into the VIP lounge, just through a different way, we'll actually get a gold card, the ppl with the DvsE will have to tp in, those who get both can do whatever. o.o the teleporting (if only works in pocket-D) isn't really to their advantage, it just lets ppl who haven't been around for awhile a chance to join those who have.. the only other bonus really is a badge and prestige power.. which has always been restricted to a few ppl anyway.

o.o;; I though CoP/IoP trial was going to be activated before i8? or is that going to be with or after? I don't mind a bit more time to afford the vault, my sg is making less prestige now than before the +25% increase, so the extra time doesn't hurt..
and.. not having i8 in september.. is that live in Sept, or on the training room in Sept? -
<_< and even if there wheren't, they could make them destructable items when the base goes into pvp mode..

=^_^= this is just a woot since Positron or another Dev who talked Positron into it read this thread and the holiday themes are going to be coming in one of next years expansions!!!

Decor Rooms

Description: More choices on rooms. long strait ones of several lengths, a curved 3 squares or 5 squares joint piece.. Basically, more decoration room type to fill in those empty spaces in bases and help connect one place to another.
Limitations: Same as all Decoration rooms, they can only take decor and a demensional anchor, no control, raid, energy, etc. -
o_o not that anyone checks these things anymore... but in a month, the last known Dev/GM/ADMIN from these testing events will be leaving us! Go pounce Cuppa and let her know she'll be missed!

Description: Halloween Base theme items (pls see above post for details). Items include several different Jack-o-Lanterns, uncarved pumkins (ie similar/same as the ones in Croatoa), spider web wall hangings or "room divider" webbing (that can be put between two objects to make it look like they where spun here (similar to the bedsheets in the Malise/Mother Mayhem mission in the Praetorian arcs)), witch NPCs, bats to hang from ceiling, Fog machine, and similar halloween Decor as you'd have at your home in RL for a party or trick or treaters. possibly some "wallpaper" like the temp ones you can get in RL, examples: My fav, the creepy trees, for that DA zone feeling..
Limitations: These theme decors can only be unlocked during the specific holiday events that they match.. ie, pumkin's from halloween, blinking tree/house/whatnot lights from the winter event, heart strings,cards, signs.. from vday. During the rest of the year, these items can't be unlocked, so a group has to wait till the event comes around again.

Giant candy canes that can be plopped down similary to the cot floor spikes.

Description: Holiday decor themes for bases. These themes have a linked "holiday SG badge" under the accolades section that is unlocked when an sg has had X number of their members take part in getting the badges/finnishing missions for the event while in SG mode (nothing too high, so as to not exclude the smaller SGs that might only have something like 10 ppl in them, or maybe linked to defeates of that holidays sig mobs). Upon earning this Badge, the SG would have access to a new category of base decor "Holiday" (or added to existing categories, a new one just seemed better for purposes of finding items) which would have the specific base decore items that match the event. This would allow SGs to decorate their bases to their own likings, while avoiding offending those who don't like said holiday by having things in public (ie, non christians having to deal with xmas trees in atlas square and the like, or offending those who don't celebrate halloween with massive pumkin patches).
As time goes on, extra holiday items can be added at the same events for the next yr. For example: for the first halloween set, add a couple types of Jack-o-lanterns, and maybe a couple other usual house decore items (you can get inspiration on what from stores in a month ^_^). Then when Halloween comes around the next year, add another jackolantern face/size, and maybe a spiderweb wall cover or something.. keep it up for several years in the same maner some ppl collect electric jack-o-lanterns and the game will have a very nice selection that won't be killer to make. If you do something that lets you recolor the light strings, the same decor item can be used for many different holidays, or just collecting the different ones.. (blue for example, useable both for halloween and Hanukkah, depending on shade of course)
If control of base music/a base jukebox is ever added, special holiday music could be added as well (probably easiest with Halloween).

You are correct. The trial itself was (and will be) all PvE. But there was PvP in the Cathedral of Pain process: it is the next step in the cycle (raiding) where the PvP came into play. That isn't part of the trial run itself, but there is a connection. If you walked away from the trial with an Item of Power it meant that you should probably expect to be raided by another supergroup.

O.O so we have a chance to do it without having to worry about all of our base stuff being destroyed? We just spend all the bonus from the double xp weekend on a Ley Tap, and having to worry about it going bust is a big turn off...
soo.... the big question would be... will the badges be actived for doing the trial? (thinking more personal badges for participants, not the sg ones since we don't pvp). -

o.o I'd been wondering about that... it make me wonder if the monthly /bug I do about chat channel's no longer allowing sgs to be invited to them ever gets anywhere. I've been doing it since CoV beta where it showed up first, but it never even gets listed as a known issue so... its a simple problem too.. the two new ranks just made it so that leaders no longer have the rank to invite..

-.- unfortinatly, you won't see this until they compleatly redo the game or bases. right now the bases run on a similar engine to mission instancing. So if you can't log in, in a mission, you won't be able to in a base (not to mention, it would add ALOT of stress to the server to have all the bases open all the time, and stress = lag)

a nice idea ^_^ it might go against the raid design that drives the entirety of base design though.. also, while allowing you to make interesting spaces.. you can often already do that with a larger size of the same room. I'm afraid this probably won't happen in sg base (but maybe... personal ones!!! *prays*)

o.o you can.. you DO NOT have to do raid (and can't, still, probably not till i8 at earliest) as long as you don't do the Item of Power (ie, Cathedral of Pain) trial. as for blocking.. yeah, I hate that too, I wish they'd turn it off for those who don't have the IoP and only require them for ppl who are raiding/doing the trial. >_< unfortinatly, bases are designed around PvP, not as community centers currently (but rejoys! they are being examined for future issues in reguards to making bases SG friendly!!!!)

Actually, for the most part, arcane made salvage items take up more floor space (except the first power generator, it takes up less space than its tech counterpart, all others are same space or more). As for the reason.... probably, no scalling checks where done at time of make, and base items haven't exactly been high priority, there are still alot of bad bugs from i5 to fix (like global chat, i5 removed all sg options from it)
^^ the other two items are actual requests, so all I can say is, the layout one is more likely since they have been adding layout things to the base editor with each update. -
