Dusk till Dawn 2 and 3 would have made my list, also the new adaptation of Nightmare on Elm St was a big let down for me.

I did consider 670's SLI, think the only reason I went with a 690 is longevity, that thing is built like a beast and thought it would out last the 670's. I don't plan on on doing anything to this system (fingers crossed) hopefully for at least 5 years.

Quote:Thanks very much, with Ram I thought this was the case but wanted to be sure, and will be going for Win 7 Pro for sure, had a look into Windows 8 and really didn't like the look or layout of it (bit to console/tablet for my liking, i'm, oldskool at heart).First it's serious overkill for this game but it should top 60FPS in Metro 2033.
For memory, it's usually just a trade off in price, the 8x4GB should be cheaper, but there is a downside when it comes to overclocking memory or reducing memory timings, in which case more isn't better.
64-bit Win 7 Pro and up is 192GB of system memory.
Sorry, I don't normally work with such an unlimited budget but I don't see anything that I would classify as a problem.
Now I just have to wait until my local electric shop can get 690 graphics card, they are pretty hard to get hold of apparently. -
Hi all recently came into a bit of money and decided to invest in a new system.
Below is a custom build I have come up with.
CPU: NEW! Intel Core i7 3930K @ 4.5Ghz
CPU Cooler: NEW! Corsair H100 Water Cooler
Operating System: Microsoft® Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Motherboard: NEW! Asus Rampage IV Extreme
RAM: NEW! 32GB Corsair 2133mhz Vengeance (8x4GB)
Hard Drive: NEW! Corsair 240GB Force3 SSD S-ATAIII 6.0Gb/s
Additional Storage: NEW! 2TB S-ATAIII 6.0Gb/s
Optical Drive: 22x DVD±RW DL S-ATA
2nd optical drive: 10x Blu-Ray RW S-ATA
Graphics card: NEW! NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 4GB
Sound card: NEW! Creative Recon3D PCI-E
Monitors: NEW! BenQ XL2410T 23.6" LED 3D
Case: NEW! Coolermaster Cosmos II
PSU: NEW! 1050W Corsair HX Modular
A few questions I have.
With regard to Ram what are the pro's and cons of having 8x4gb instead of 4x8gb, is it just room?
With regards to RAID 0 I have heard some pretty nasty tales of very bad consequences if things fail, just wondering if any have good experiences with them?
With regards to Windows 7 Prof, does it have a RAM limit?, I know Home edition did.
If any can add or make changes to my system to improve please do so. -
Indeed something is way out of whack, I am lvl 30 plant/nature controller atm and have already hit 3mil healing delivered, it took me way longer on an Empath to hit them numbers. Also I hardly feel that I have healed much compared to when I used my Empath.

Think my biggest problem with super hero related films is that I want them to be as close to their comic books as possible, and that isn't possible.
Taking the latest Batman movie and putting it out as a 4 issue mini series in comic books, I would have most probably brought the 1st issue and thought meh, I'll not bother with the rest.
I just don't think a comic book to film or vice versa work.
Now I believe comic books put into a 45min episode season long TV show's do work as people can over time relate to the heroes and villians. Smallville was a good start, but ultimately failed at the death as it really never progressed past CK's origin. If it would been allowed to progress and continue with him as Superman and continue along the lines of going up against proper villians, having cameos of top superheroes, put at later time past the watershed to spice things up a bit, it would have been a good watch.
Batman TV show worked because most of the time the social aspect of Bruce Wayne was kept to a minimal and identity kept secret, top villians often featured none of whom were ever killed off at the end of each episode, and all of that was done without high end CGI and overpaid actors.
I would rather they brought out more superhero TV shows like Batman of the past rather than feature films that can't portray comic books the right way due to budget, time frame or age ratings. -
Just got back from Cinema (I like to wait to crowds thin out, and have a nice quiet screening).
Hmm, not my cup of tea, don't think I've ever gone to a Batman movie and well seen so little of Batman, on the odd occasion he wore the suit it was a complete waste of time as everyone knew who he was anyway lol.
I did find the lines that were spoke to the would-be Robin character about hiding his identity to protect love ones as a bit farcical.
At times I wondered whether or not Catwoman, was Catwoman or Batgirl, they manage to seperate the two much better in the other films.
As the conclusion to Nolan's trilogy I felt he let himself down, but take nothing away from 1 and 2 they were excellent.
The darkness in the first 2 films seemed to be lost in this one, and maybe a better choice of villian would have been better to bring out the darkness in previous films, Killer Croc, Penguin or Riddler could have been portrayed much better and darker than Bane and kept the feel of the trilogy together. -

And here we see 2 Community Reps performing the MouseHand cramp removal technique.

Quote:I never said I was excluding others from live feed's, but I put my neck on the line from a potential torrent of abuse, others had the chance to chip in and say I agree or what not and that they would like that sort of thing in their area too, but no-one did. I based my argument on my own personal preferences. So you want a live feed just to the EU? Something that would shut out the other players? Very nice of you. As it is, ANYONE with internet access can view the live feeds from the Players Summit and submit questions or comments.
But you want to have something going as an EU Summit so that other players are there? Then organize an EU event when there is a Player Summit planned. Have computers and monitors set up so that people can interact with the Player Summit while surrounded by friends.
If you contact Paragon Studios and let them know you are organizing something along that line I'm pretty sure they'll find a way to participate and may even find some schwag to ship over.
So what I should have done is included everyone else in my argument without even asking their permission? -
Sometimes Zwillinger, I can get things wrong and start blaming people when it's others fault, but I get frustrated when things seem obvious to me and nothing get's done about it, as I got no response from support I tend to fire off at the Community Reps because I at least get a response from you guys, so I apologise for that.

Quote:Zwillinger, I appreciate the live feed's they are excellent way to keep us somewhat involved, but what I would prefer is a live feed to the EU via a summit of our own. I pretty much enjoy the company of others when breaking news happens and would rather watch a big game with others rather than sit at home and watch it by myself, if you get my drift. New issue news surrounded by friends with a good atmosphere can't be beat.As has been previously noted, we do live stream the Player Summits. During each panel, the moderators make certain to take input from the chat channel from those watching along at home.
Thank you for the additional suggestions. I'm always looking for ways to improve upon the presentation and am very hopeful that with the next Summit we'll find even more ways to integrate participation from our Twitch viewers. -
Quote:I stated that on the one time I felt the need to communicate with Paragon over a matter that I had a grievance with has still been unanswered (checks e-mails) a little over 10 months later. The original post expressed gratitude for Paragon's communication. The community team here has nothing to do with past business decisions. In fact, Paragon as a whole studio has very little to do with NCSoft's decision to cut the EU offices/servers/whatever. Paragon might have recommended one thing or another, but at the end of the day it wasn't their decision to make. When Cryptic sold City of Heroes, Paragon took over (to use your phrase) the development and day-to-day management of the game; Paragon did not take over ownership of it.
You're entitled to feel however you like, but do understand the facts here. -

Quote:Paragon Studios didn't create the EU division. They ended it.Again, without Paragon creating an EU division in the first place you'd have no pleasant experience to lament the passing of.
I'm clearly not going to change your mind, I just felt like pointing out your feeling of resentment have no real foundation. Someone did something you enjoyed, they weren't able to keep doing it, so now you dislike them?
That's no sort of philosophy to live by. -
What might be a nice idea is if Paragon could work with someone like Eurogamer.net who regularly host Cosplay and Fan meet and greets in the EU, maybe throw a few bundles of goodies over the pond and maybe run a direct live feed from the summits so we can put some ideas across and maybe ask a few questions to devs also. Timezone differences wouldn't be an issue for me as would be prepared to lose some sleep to get some interaction with the devs on various issues. Also I believe a strong incentive at a meet and greet like this would encourage more of us to turn up for them (Re:Brighton of past).

Quote:The original question posed was how thankful they were for paragon, the person I replied to requested that all mmo's should follow suit, I then stated 'no' as my experience has not been a good one since Paragon has taken over and was then asked why I felt like that, I replied and all the reasons I have given are valid, I don't expect Paragon to do anything about this as changing things now would seem to be a step back for them and if the game is in no financial position I can hardly expect them to put the game on the line to finance a simple M&G outside the U.S.They no longer have EU employees to organize such things.
While unfortunate, I don't see what you expect them to do here.
They tried to have a self-financing EU division and it didn't work.
C'est la vie.
Rather than complain about the failure of the venture, feel fortunate you had the opportunity to belong to that community in the first place. If they hadn't made that attempt you'd have nothing to complain about.
The question was asked to thank Paragon, I do not feel it is acceptable for me to do so and explained why, that was all.
Sorry if people may find my posts a bit offensive or unforgiven but I have a annoying trait of having a memory like an elephant, and apparently it is annoying. -
I named my water/storm Corr, Niagra Falls.

Quote:You are quite right I don't accept the answers and that is not solely down to M&G's, but that is me, I was asked a valid question and I gave a straight answer, If people don't like that, then there is not much I can do about it. I try to be as honest and truthful to myself as I can be and treat other people with the same yardstick, sometimes people don't like the answers I give but I'm afraid they are as valid as the next man's and I won't sugar coat for no-one.All of this was explained over and over. If you didn't accept the answers given the first time, I doubt you will except them a second time. I personally have never been to a M&G because all of them have required a 3-6 hour flight for me. So this is not the land of Dev parties some think it is. :/

Quote:We used to have Eu community mods that used to hold meet and greets and summits within the EU, since the likes of Bridger and Rockjaw have gone, the only meet and greets with the Eu are player organised only.Out of curiosity, what current Community Team policies favor the North American playerbase over the EU? Meet and Greets not withstanding.
Meet and greets are big part of community relation's and cannot be dismissed, especially now when costume parts are being chosen at these events, I speak for myself when I feel excluded and bit distant from the community (hence why I tend to stick to my own server and not venture out) when this sort of thing happens. Having the choice later on at what you want them to look like is a bit of a P-Take when you haven't been allowed to determine what you want in the first place.
Also I have made various grievance reports regarding the global name change, and was clearly subjected to act of childishness to which since Freedom went live, I am still waiting for a response (I'm not holding my breath any longer). -
Quote:This.I highly recommend 'The Greatest Batman Stories ever told' and the companion 'The Greatest Joker Stories ever told'. They give you a great potted history of Batman and the Joker from the start up to the 80s, with a selection of fun stories.
For Marvel Comics... I love the old 'Secret Wars' trade paperback. 12 issues of pretty much all the heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe fighting it out.
Couldn't have said it better myself. -
I was treated better before paragon studios took over this game, that's one example, without the need to mention other games.
