Quote:These rules make sense, except I'd echo Mac's sentiment that a smaller team (maybe 6v6, 8v8 if both captains agree in advance) to accommodate smaller rosters.Hero/Villain mixed ladder
3 10 minute 8v8 matches. Team 1 chooses first map, Team 2 second, 3rd is random.
Small insps only, HD off, TS off, DR on. No cage, no caves.
Quote:We might want to cap roster size at 15-20 people (not accounts), but not really necessary.
Quote:Not sure how to do the rankings, but we could just use the old 1 spot up on victories system
Quote:Other rules to consider are not allowing player/toon swaps after a player joins a match to counter an unexpected lineup ("pulling a Renegades"). The only delay before letting new people play with a lineup should probably be if they just jumped from another group on the ladder, and even then its probably ignorable.
I'd say have a week cooling off period for players who move and no "borrowing" players (ringers). New players would be waived. The captain of the other team could also agree to waive this.
Quote:I do ever so hope those Justice elite pvpers will transfer over to Freedom and prove to us their quality is better (and no, we won't turn off travel powers for you).
On a side note I hope that folks come out to have fun. I also hope the tone of /ac doesn't carry over to this ladder. It seems to be a lot of "fight meh' "no u r bad" lolz duels anyway but whatever. -
Being bad (wow, that gets overused) is the way to go post i13 anyway.
On a side note, While is still think about 80% of the i13 changes made PvP worse, CoH PvP is still faster that any other MMO I've seen. -
dUmb claims #1 spot, has no roster yet.

I always hide from searches and Stalk...,er "Server Friends" nothing to do with PvP.

Quote:So. Let me get this straight. You play a game called City of Heroes... where the default costume is a bright spandex jumpsuit. You run, jump, fly, or teleport around one city beating the excrement out of make-believe baddies, rescuing hostage victims, recovering stolen items, and saving the world; or run, jump, fly, teleport, or swim around a set of islands beating the excrement out of do-gooders, knocking over banks and jewelry stores, taking victims hostage, and trying to take over the world...
and you want to type lolRP?
Um. I don't know how to break this to you, but every time you log into the game and you pick a server, YOU HAVE ALREADY BEGUN A ROLE PLAY SESSION. Let me make this as clear as I can. EVERY SINGLE SERVER IS A ROLEPLAYING SERVER:
WHETHER OR NOT YOU LIKE IT YOU ARE A ROLEPLAYER
So please. Knock off the whole lolRP line. If that's how you feel, this is the wrong game for you.
uh, no. Big text doesn't make it true. lolRP. -
You asked and the answer was "no, PvP with your spines/regen instead."

Quote:PvP spec your tank.Wow this is an epic post.
I if you PvP to Win, then Freedom is the place for you - You will have a more like minded individuals to compete against.
If not, then maybe you will find justice more appealing.
For me? There isn't much market for fiteclub with an emp (and I couldn't handle the ******** and moaning that would happen after they lost) and PvP in a place where teaming and tactics are looked down upon doesn't sound to fun - so Freedom is the better of the two. -

Quote:Sounds like our story on Infinity.I will say I have been on Triumph since the game launched, with the exception of a couple of toons I transferred a while back to do some zone and arena stuff with After School Special when we had nothing going on on the Test Server. Now with that said I will say that I have moved 4 toons over to Freedom already, because like Eps said Triumph's PvP scene is pretty much our SG and VG there and most of us are xferring our toons to Freedom which will leave Triumph's PvP scene about empty. Most not all of the old test team players that are left are PvPing on Freedom. Like I said not all but still it is the majority of the old "hardcore" competitive players are now on Freedom. So just by the number of people who have PvP competitively for a long time being there I would say that Freedom has the best PvP in the game. It definately has the most people PvPing. Today at 2 pm eastern there were a ton of villians and I know at least 18-25 heores battling in RV and at the same time there were a couple very competitive 2v2's and 3v3's going on in the arena at the same time. I am going to say that that doesn't happen on any other server
I would say that the level of PvP on Freedom is many many steps higher than that of any other server. If you can't handle being targetted by a team or you want to stand under the statue and FightKlub it up then yeah it may not be for you, but I would say that after Jan. 31st there are going to be very few PvPr's left on any server other than Freedom and, I can't believe I am going to say this, Virtue. I know that En3my of M4n and CriticalKat are trying to get PvP going more on Champion but still the majority are transferring to Freedom.
So long story short Freedom>any other server when it comes to the competitiveness of PvP
I know, I know Psypunk post, and I am sorry.
What's left of dUmb PvP (many of our players perma-quit in i13) is moving to Free dUmb (motto "Why pay for dUmb?") on Freedom. Since ABH disbanded (gonna say 2 years ago), many of it's players quit or joined dUmb. Infinity PvP was dUmb rofflestomping folks then no one wanting to fight. For the last year and a half (at least) Infinity arena rankings have been as follows:
1. dUmb
2. (vacant)
We had fun on test ladder pre-i13 (post-i13 was a joke, as some of you would say our team was) and even made a few championship runs (curse you i13 closed beta start </angry_old_man>). Even though we may get rofflestomped in Freedom, at least there is action.
To those who say Freedom has more n00bs, this is true. Freedom has more of everything- n00bs, jerks, bad PvPrs, good PvPrs, etc. The exception is RP; see also lolVirtue. -

I don't think farming is the way to riches, I PL'd a bit this morning and my 50 made prob 10-15 million. During that same time 3 of my flips sold, netting me over 100 million on the same toon.
I could farm 24/7 and still make an order of magnitude less than what a bit of marketeering would net.
Play the market, buy what you want for your build, price caps aren't the solution. -
Quote:Sekrit to betting Romy- Abusively good tank/brute (or 2) and a cold (or 2) a kin helps as well.My best so far is 45. No one seems to know how to do MB's method for Romulus properly (except of course you ^ Master-Blade). Would be great to run an ITF with you soon. I need to get the MotITF badge.
I've done sub 30 ITFs when 2-3 folks didn't know it was a speed run.
