It's not just jokes about race and belief that are a bit below the belt. I saw a hero the other day named "Stupid Emo Boy" and although I'm not an Emo myself, others found it offensive, which is very understandable.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why? He might have been a very stupid boy who was also an emo?
I don't tend to offend easily and quite welcome people to make jokes at my expense as long as they're able to take a joke themselves. However on areas of great importance (as already stated people's beliefs are very important to some and not for mocking!) I tend to censor myself until a joke has been made and received warmly...then I never stop. -
I'm happy with both, I do like abit of a laugh in-game (When I can be bothered) but if no one else does then fine I won't play. I have had fellow team-mates say things like "thats not funny" or sarcastically say "you should write comedy" (to which I said I do and channel 4 gave me an award for it), I just tend to ignore them and let them stew in their humour-less world.

How come there are more roads, bridges and motorways than cars in Paragon City? Most of the roads are empty too; only one or two cars or vans drive by occassionally.
[/ QUOTE ]
As said elsewhere owning a car is just too dangerous when you've got super powers running about, imagine an invul tank standing in the middle of the road and not moving...the jam would be massive. As well as the villains coming over and smashing everything, plus there's Skyway a place with plenty of roads with plenty of clockwork too...it's their fault.
[ QUOTE ]
There are no school, post office, restaurant, cafe, cinema, shopping mall, ... and so on.
[/ QUOTE ]
Again as mentioned there are restaurants...tons of them, there's a fine Italian in Atlas and a lovely Mexican in Faultline (you can even hear the music!) Cinema's too but people in Paragon don't need a movie for escapism...films about superheroes are like watching big brother to those in paragon. There are universities, people in paragon are incredibly clever and don't need common schools...they just go straight to uni!
[ QUOTE ]
There are far too few pedestrian on the street than there are buildings.
[/ QUOTE ]
Good. We could learn alot from Paragon -
Wow I went for this bait too, was starting to think maybe I'd been around too long too.
Enjoy St Tropez unless you're just going to the factory where they make the bronzing stuff they make for people who can't get a tan....then just get GR a few boxes, he looks like he could do with it and cake...lots of cake -
The Chosen have a nice lil base hidden in the outskirts of Skyway...think Blade-esqe hidden base. The Keepers however don't want to tell anyone where they live being a secret organisation and secretly making things happen.
My villains however don't like company as much and live in various places in and around the Rogue Isles. The 4 core house of card members (club, spade, diamond and heart) live in an apartment in Nerva suspiciously leased out to Crey!
Kroq-Gar sleeps wherever he gets tired.
Delphina has a shack (which is actually quite nice inside...if you don't mind the wolf hair) somewhere in Port Oakes.
Elizabeth Bathory lives in Hungary and is just in the isles on business therefore uses the House of Cards base but only the really dark room. Sometimes Ghost Widow allows her to use her tower in Mercy...only right since she dragged Elizabeth to the Rogue Isles in the first place!
All my VEATS are Mercy dwellers...
Green Plague may sleep in his burnt out lab in Cap, may sleep cos nobody is certain if Green Plague is a robot or scientist gone wrong.
Screaming Skull also dwells in Cap, in a rather nice apartment with its own lab...perfect for storing her sonic devices or...er...skulls.
Far too many other villains to think about so I'm not gonna try...it is Monday after all. -
Same here it's a new'ie for me. Don't really like the idea as the curve is already enough, dunno something about this idea is putting me off although part of me is saying it'll be really good for my non-solo toons...
Then again the fact I'm never off the game (well I am...but within reason) means the bonus wouldn't be too useful to me...then if its toons only and not the account then my 40 toons will be very happy.
I'm sticking my neck out and saying "nah not for me". -
I've started the old/new MoG argument again....why god....whhhhhy!!!!! I wasn't much of a MoG user before the nerf and I'm still not much of a Mog user now although I found it is really good to use when on low health to build abit more up (just throw my 2 pence in again).
But yea melee FTW!!!1!!!! -
Yea bad example I know cos of the absurdity but was the first melee toon I could think of that had been nerfed. Although I would say the most absurd melee I've got is my SR scrapper who takes a decade to get it (I remember actually wanting him to get hit at one point and he hasn't even got elude yet!)
Kinda did the respec thing to show I'm not a panic respec'er you get those that soon as something changes in their AT they panic respec or instantly think the power is now useless cos its been nerfed which occured during the recent MoG and as you've stated there's nothing that a respec could fix anyways. These are nerfs that just need a little change in the game plan or approach to the character and I accept that, see it as a challenge rather than another chance to have a go at the devs (again I'm just generalising here not saying anyone is whining!) -
[ QUOTE ]
There still seem to be just as many Tanks as other ATs running around, so that might mean that there is a good balance, and no AT is more popular than any other.
[/ QUOTE ]
Apart from on CoV where Brutes are 10 a penny...which further proves melee AT's are strong and with us -
Thinking about this...I've had the Chosen One since day one of Euro CoH, he's been respec'd a whole...er...once! He's a katana/regen and stop me if I'm totally wrong here but regen has seen its fair few nerfs in its time (a certain ex-toggle springs to mind as well as the hotly contested new MoG). I've noticed very little difference when I return to him, although I did notice I can't take on as many critters as I used to...no biggy just gotta be careful instead of being half-asleep. The point to these mad ramblings? Well as I think mentioned elsewhere the nerfs make little difference, it's not as if I went on to C1 and thought "oh my god they've killed him...he's useless" cos he's far from it and having completed an ITF recently he showed me he still has it (apart from when I tried to take on a few too many bosses (see above)).
Like I say he's been respec'd once, and I think that was after ED. Call me insane but I don't mind the odd nerf here and there making the game feel more like a game rather than a dream. -

But that would mean joining Facebook, and I won't do that even if you threaten to shoot a helpless kitten.
[/ QUOTE ]
What ever happened to all the i7 kittens. Were they donated to a home, or a little friendly old lady that stank of spam?
[/ QUOTE ]
I've still got a few here, they get fed to Recluse every now and then...although they're not kittens anymore and don't poop everywhere which is handy.
I'm off to become a fan...I don't do the whole fan thing on facebook but for CoX I'll make an exception -
No, they're not. A majority of my toons are melee's, nerf or no nerf that's how they'll stay.
-
Due to my alt-ism i thrive off PuGs and have very few bad experiences from doing so (I'd say about 2 bad teams a month on average!). My only problem is that no PuG wants my pure archer who finds it incredibly difficult to get any teaming
-
and then talkie cutscenes...whoooooooooo, least then people wouldn't have to hear me do silly voices whenever there's one

I think she's just a thrill-seeker
And at least Faultline's missed tell wasn't anything private

Or..."this tank I'm teaming with is useless, I wish people would roll a scrapper if all they want to do is hit stuff etc etc etc" -
Hehe they do!
And you reged on my birthday, so I love you -
I was sorting ALL my screenshots last week which covered EU beta to present day and came across a few pics set ina hospital and I couldn't for the life of me remember where they came from and then forgot about it. Now I remember so er....thanks =)
-
I've stayed clear of Kinetics, infact if I think hard I think it's the only powerset I had avoided (my alts have everything else) mainly due to the rudeness kinetics seem to get. I am however considering it when my yearly badge comes around just so I can say I've tried them all =D

Rogue Traders: We're Coming Home always reminds me of Rikti invasions. I'd bought the album around the same time i10 was released.
[/ QUOTE ]
Voodoo Child is also very good for pounding mobs to...I remember having it on waiting for an invasion to happen and the Rikti appearing right on time (must have watched Doctor Who). No more heroes anymore by The Stranglers also a gooden along with calling all the heroes - an 80's classic hehe -
An Honest Mistake is an excellent tune! Reminds me of my DJ'ing days and I must get some Vampire Weekend keep forgetting so thanks for the reminder =)
For me it's a big mix of tunes, The Prayer by Bloc Party reminds me of leaping about, slicing n dicing with the Chosen One. Whilst Spitfire by the Prodigy reminds me of blasting about with Delphina.
Soopa Villainz album by the Soopa Villains reminds me of early villainry as does Conquer by the Psychopathics. -

Maybe the more you don't play the game the more character slots they give you to not play the game with?
[/ QUOTE ]
The game has that already.. but those who are not playing the game don't notice it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I did. I came back and discovered that I had 4 character slots to claim if I wanted. I already filled one of them, which means something else gets pushed down the list of characters I don't play.
Edit: PS, who's that in your avatar?
[/ QUOTE ]
A model that I found on the net that did a shoot inspired by Elizabeth Bathory. She had precicly the look I had given my toon. And what I had in mind.

Not the only one -

Yea defo something that needs to be put into place cos i feel the villains are too nice in co-op zones when really we'd be looking for any oppotunity to bump off our rivals or get away with something valuble. Would be difficult to pull off successfully but be really good if heroes and villains got different objectives or villains got side ones like "make sure the heroes are defeated at least 10 times" or something for a bonus...course the heroes would get the bonus if they dont die more than 10 times...
Thats just an example, my brain is still in recovery.
[/ QUOTE ]
There could be morphing scenery too, just like in RV.
Like say it was a medieval zone, with a castle and a town and a forst and some farms - and there was some source of evil that was causing trouble in the area, with demons or werewolves or things like that, and it was the heroes task to locate and destroy this source, and it was the Villains task to protect it with a view to harnessing its power themselves.
Every 30 minutes or so, the game would add up the Villain mission successes and the hero mission successes, and the landscape would change a bit to reflect whoever had won that pahse - like if the Villains were winning, and succeeding in protecting the source of the evil, then you'd see a farm or two abandoned, or even parts of the town too, and more of the demons/monsters roaming about - but if the Heroes were winning, and succeeding in getting closer to the source of the evil, then the monsters/demons would be reduced in number, and the forest (where the source of the evil would probably be located) would become more wholesome looking.
[/ QUOTE ]
YEA!!! Forgot about RV since I haven't been in there since the testserver before its release! Exactly like that! I wanna play now....NOW!!! -

If Nemesis went back to the Middle Ages, he'd be like a wizard-knight or an alchemist-knight to the people of that time - but for us, he'd still be the AV we've been fighing in the present.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you talking about some kind of Gotham by Gaslight/ElseWorlds or Marvel 1880s Universe? that would be rather charming, seeing a steam-powered Positron or Sister Psyche as a Gypsy fortune teller - something like that.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, I mean more how people of the time would interpret someone like Nemesis if he showed up - his armor makes him look a bit like a knight, and his machines would be thought of as some kind of magic or alchemy.
[/ QUOTE ]
Dunno if anyone remembers or has played it, but Nemesis' machines do actually look a little like those things in thief 2.
I'd like to do both, take on a super villain in another time period or at their height (lil bit ouroboros) would love to have a go at nemesis in the victorian period, although this would disrupt the timeline/mythology unless it can be bent so *your hero* thrawted nemesis the first time. I'd like the villains to join with whoever is being evil in another time tho, earn some sort of bonus like the pvp areas or something... -

5. X-men : jean grey and scott summers went forward to an alternate time when apolacypse ruled. their sone Nate travelled back as did bishop and forge (or was that cable?). A huge part of x-men universe was the alternate timeline where magneto ran the x-men because of a time travelling mishap that resulted in xaviers death.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah yea Bishop is from the future and so is Nate (Cable) which is mentioned plenty especially in the Cable and Deadpool series (who also time travels and goes back to spidey issue 1...I think)
Sorry to keep going on about time travel
