...because nothing screams "logic!" like my blaster taking a 10k damage blast with his 10 health left and surviving.

Regarding the "virtual XP" suggestion, I dislike it.
If I want to run non-AE content, I will. On my own. Don't force it on me.
I'm currently playing a duo which cannot play together outside of AE. So, yeah.
However, I'd be very, very content with seeing AE stop dropping Inf and instead generate more tickets. -
Quote:If you want to run it again so badly so soon, grab an alt.How do you differentiate between the 2? If I decide that the arc I just ran had a good story and good game play and I choose to run it a few times, does that mean I get my xp messed with because I'm (in your own terms) a farmer or exploiter? Everyone seems to forget, the Devs marketed that the AE was an alternative way to level from 1-50. There were no restrictions put on it. While I agree that the exploits should be dealt with as they are found, there is nothing the Devs can do until they are found.

Quote:....I wonder how well it'd work to bind power activation there. I mean, I only need eight keys(*) for power activation, and if the D-pad is being... well-behaved about only pressing this direction and not the other one.... =3 If nothing else, it'd save me four keys! (since I could use all eight directions, not dedicate four to being "this one and this one")You can, if that's what floats your boat. The N52 Profiler (to be clear, the Razer N52 is just the Belkin N52 Tournament Edition...with a Razer badge) will let you map the pad pretty much anyway you like. Since the "d-pad" is just a series of buttons laid out in the same orientation as compass points, you can have them do anything you want...not just movement.
* Technically, I don't activate powers past 6 using number keys, but I use 7 and 8 for teammate selection. -
Quote:Not fond of this one too much. How about this:
XP you earn in the AE is not real xp, it's virtual XP, which functions similar to Patrol XP, i.e. you have to go out and earn actual "real" XP in order to benefit from your virtual "training session".
Quote:Another option would be to remove Influence rewards from the AE entirely. It would be perfectly reasonable since the AE missions are not real and thus shouldn't affect a character's fame or finances in any real way. Tickets more than make up for the loss of actual Inf rewards, and reducing the amount of Inf you get in the AE would reduce farming considerably, I believe, while still keeping the marketing promise of AE as an alternative way to level to 50.
Quote:Best would probably be to combine the two. You earn 0% influence and 50% XP in AE missions, but you gain Patrol XP up to the usual Patrol XP limit of thirty xp bubbles (I think) which will let you earn XP 50% faster when doing non-AE content. Tickets make up for the loss of Inf without causing inflation since you only produce merchandise and not money.
Also, the limit is ten bubbles. -
Wouldn't it be simpler to make it better by weakening to stupidly powerful Sands of Mu?

Quote:I like it....yeah, I meant MA not AE in the title. Sue me.
I suggest the following changes to MA XP:
(1) A player may only earn XP from a given arc once every 24 hours.
(2) An arc must be published for 48 hours before anyone can earn XP on that arc.
From my observations, it appears MA abuse and exploits typically involve re-running the same arc or handful of arcs repeatedly, or the use of 'private arcs' where the mission leader repeated publishes an arc.
I believe the changes proposed above would go a long way toward curtailing MA exploits, and may actually encourage players to try other 'legitimate' MA arcs that are otherwise ignored.
Discuss.
It won't solve the issue but it'll make those farming bastards' work harder. and I can get behind that. -
Huh, this is an excellent suggestion that I missed.
I mean, all the other MMOs are doing it, and it IS handy. -

If they wanted you to be able to use these powers without redraw, what would be the point of making these animations "alternate" rather than just replacing them?
B: Making us choose would be easier on the animation engine -
Quote:Ah good-- ffff Inspirations I forgot about those! As for control and shift, with my profiler you can set each key to be programmed "shift+1/shift+2" or a single key to be programmed to shift, and then just hold it while you hit your "1/2" style keys.
A trick I use with this is most of the global things like travel and autorun and insps are profiled into the keypad.....minus targeting. I have a slot in my 3 trays with a macro in it for targeting on all of my toons. That way, if I decide I don't want "targetcustomnext" but "targetcustomnear" or a tag thrown in to hunt specific things it can easily be done just by editing/swapping the macro.
Quote:That's the same one I'm interested in upgrading to Hyperstrike, but I didn't look up it's name since I got the feeling the OPs mind is made up. (The saitek's stick is getting kinda gritty, and "numb" with a little bit of extra deadzone before recognizing movement)

B] Get used to using the D-Pad where you might be accustomed to mouselook.
And, wait, I thought I'd be using the D-pad for movement? -
So. Due to unforseen circumstances I have my gaming rig but not my gaming desk, leaving me with my old one and its far too small keyboard tray -- it can fit my (standard-sized) keyboard, but not a mouse anywhere comfortable.
As a result, I'm considering alternatives.
Now, I figure getting this baby to play nice with the likes of Global Agenda and Killing Floor shouldn't be that much of a problem. It's City of that worries me.
See, I use lots of keys to use my powers. Lots and lots. Three power trays' worth, plus all chords of q, e and r.
I guess my question is this: Has anybody tried one of those babies out, and knows if some of those keys can be programmed to be treaded as your everyday ordinary chord keys? -

Quote:....can the orbital cannon have you stat with a targetting laser? =3Orbital Cannon, very much yes. For the rest, I wouldn't be too much opposed to just staling existing powers from the current things which use Pulse Rifles. You already have three powers from Pulse Rifle itself, and between Arachnos Drones, Arachnobots and... There was something else... I think we can compile a full set.
Just for the record, I'm prefer a Pulse Rifle set with a variety of effects, not just lasers. -
Absolutely NOT.
Instead, make clicking the X between the two colors do the swapping.
Quote:Yep, that'd work.
Wanted: Dialog if "Save across entire body" is selected to bring attention to it still BEING selected - as this would, I believe, swap it throughout otherwise.
I believe the Swap option is meant to be per-piece.
So, if you Swap your Blue and White chest, it becomes White and Blue. Once you change your entire costume's colors from Blue and White to Blue and Yellow, the chest is still swapped from that scheme and is now Yellow and Blue. -
There's a simple problem with this suggestion.
Blaster secondaries aren't Melee. They're Manipulation. Even the most attack-happy Manipulation sets don't get more than 3, 4 melee attacks. Even assuming you took three or four kicks or punches, you'd need more powers to fill in the gaps. -
...there's exactly one non-epic set that's worth anything, both for slotting and bonuses.
-
Yes.
Some with actually good Recharge, please. -
-
A pity, but entirely understandable.
Is the showstopper something we know about? -
So, basically, all your before-I19 builds become unloadable?

In the higher than standard XP of Engineers, Communication Officers, Behemoth Portals etc.
