not really, high def and res, mez protection going and also boosted HP regen, using mudpots and taunt to keep things on you and it's not so much an issue, pvp wise, kins, rads and psi are your worst enermies lol

Sorry, I should have made my point clearer. What I meant is a noticeable shift from "active" fury generation to "passive" fury generation which is exactly that what you describe. Somehow I associate with the word "brute" someone who is more in the offense, but that may just be in my mind because the german name for the brute AT is Berserker.
However, I have to agree with your comment about kins being a stoney´s worst enemies. I have got a kinetic defender and a kinetic corruptor and I just love cracking those stoney hulls open.

    Nuke Help

Rain of Arrows is indeed a very nice pseudo-nuke. I like it so much I have tears of joy in my eyes when I see it (except when I play my villains and Manticore uses it, then the tears have different reasons).
    *pats his kinetic archers head*
  5. My robo/poison MM is very active and when I am in the mood I switch my bots to bodyguard mode and even use Sands of Mu and Air Superiority on top of debuffing stuff. (Snaptooth didn´t like that one bit. )
  6. Looks a lot better now. You will be able to do beautiful things with this one. But I have to say that I would move two slots from Stygian Return to attacks in Nova form. You certainly don´t plan on dying that often.
  7. There are some counter-measures against the Eagle Gank Squad of Doom, but I guess stalkers have the hardest job surviving that one evil ambush.
With my electric brute I just enter the bank, wait for them to follow me and Lightning Rod them to hell.
With my robo/poison MM I just enter the bank, set my henchies to aggressive and wait for them to follow me. Finished.
With my sonic/kin corruptor I just enter the bank, wait for them to follow me and show them what an aimed, fulcrum-shifted, soul-drained Dreadful Wail can do. (Most of them are almost dead after the Soul Drain...)
With my mind/psi dominator I just enter the bank, wait for them to follow me and mez them at will before I shockwave them to their afterlives.
With my dark/dark stalker it´s a bit more complicated. I enter the bank, toggle Oppressive Gloom and Cloak of Fear and wait for them to follow me... That´s when the real work begins and I know I am in trouble when I run out of blue candy.

Other than that I love mayhems with any of my chars and even the stalker clears all the side missions before he even thinks about heading to the bank. (Ok, sometimes he skips the kidnapping, but I think that´s understandable.)
I even thought he was a little bit too good in mayhems until I met my first Eagle Gank Squad of Doom.
But I have to say that the sheer power of AS can be a danger in lower level mayhem missions. I once tried my luck against a parked truck that conned deep purple to me and managed to destroy it quite fast thanks to AS. Little did I know that the explosion resulting from the last AS would send my dead body flying across the street.
  8. Well spoken, Aerys, although my kinetic corruptor would strongly object to the "unkillable" part.
I have to agree that a combination of Rage, Hasten and Teleport works best to counter a stoney´s disadvantages. Primary sets other than SS might feel very different, though, depending on if and which secondary sets you have played before.
In general a stoney in Granite will rely more or less heavily (depending on his primary set) on "passive" fury generation and, if played well, will be quite good at it. This way a "low aggro"-primary like dark melee could prove problematic (if not soloing) while aoe-heavier sets have a better chance to keep the aggro of more mobs and thus generate fury more easily.

  10. I just have to agree with those stating that it depends on you secondary if Repair is any good or not. For a robo/dark MM this power seems redundant since Twilight Grasp is a nice heal for a bunched group and robos tend to stay together as ranged pets.
My robo/poison MM on the other hand has very good use for Repair since it can be quite bothersome to be forced to throw Antidotes like mad when you should be debuffing instead. Just don´t waste it on the small drones.
  11. A "random warshade build"... yes, that´s what I see.
But seriously, I don´t have a clue what you want to do with this build. I see no difference between this warshade using the concealment pool and any other toon doing so (other than that the warshade does not have much use for it).
On top of that he is not that good on warshades´ turf either.
The way the Mires and Eclipse are slotted he will be no dreaded Purple Flying Fortress of Doom, but just a slightly buffed PB Nova with a serious case of color-blindness. You will want to have 3 rechargers in those powers. Don´t slot Black Dwarf Mire primarily for damage: With that recharge time it is hardly existent dps-wise as a damaging power per se. It is the buff for all the other attacks that you want (and want often).
With those few slotted powers in human form triple-slotted Stamina is a waste. If you want to have Stamina and/or have all the powers you want it is still good enough with the default slot for a Tri-Form-WS.
Every WS should be forced by law to take Eclipse at 38. Quasar could come at level 35 and Stygian Return is still good at 41.
And Stygian Circle seems to be a little bit underslotted for my preferences.
Well, that´s just a quick glance at this build, but I guess I could go on for much longer when I think of warshades´ potential. So, just one thing: If you go tri-form go for the Purple Flying Fortress of Doom.

(If you follow some of Double´s hints in his guide linked by inspector_frost you will be not too far off. It´s no bible, but it helps decide on a working build. )
  12. To clear up some of the confusion about fury gain by being attacked:
I have once read a thread about this topic on the US boards where a redname stated that it is the damage that could have been done that matters.
So, a defense based brute avoiding a blow will get the same amount of fury regardless of being hit or not. Likewise, his resistance-based colleague will not get more fury by turning off his shields, because fury is calculated on the incoming damage unmodified by resistance.
So, it is the stone brute´s self-inflicted attack and movement debuffs that are fury´s worst enemies, namely Rooted and Granite. A brute running both will be most unbrutish.
  13. You must have misread something. I would never imply something like that as I know that the inquisi... that the community does not bear these things very well.

I was on a team recently where four Doms tried to take on a +2 Aurora Borealis. Three of us were the normal level for her (with -2 SOs and some missing outright), and the other exemped down. Getting over her regen was no trouble at all. I'm also pretty sure we held her through her triangles when we all had Domination up.

    [/ QUOTE ]
With four dominators I would be surprised if you didn´t. If you had taken overlapping turns with domination you probably would have been able to hold her until the cows come home.
And regarding dps I find that my kinetic corruptor constantly outdamages my dominator, but that is simply because of fulcrum shift. If it is enough to solo or duo an AV without PToD it can´t be that bad.

So, for the question "How viable are dom´s for LRSF?" I have to say they are very viable, but if you want their primaries to count during the AV fights you will need at least two good and well coordinated dom´s, otherwise the PToD will strike at the most unopportune moment.
Thinking about it, one of the best LRSF setups I can think of would consist of two brutes (each one covering weaknesses of the other), four corruptors with a certain variety of secondary powersets and preferably one sonic attacker and two dominators. Have to try this when I find the necessary time...

    Kritik an NCSoft

  18. I guess you are somewhat right but not on the point. If you wanted to argue that single target immobs are useful, you would have said something like: I love my single target immob, because [insert reason here why you don´t want one mob to move around while the others are free to go].
As I see it, the single target immob effect is very situational, especially for a dominator who does some of his best damage at melee range.
What you want as a dominator is a fast animating/recharging attack, regardless of the immob and that is what you get, sometimes with even more side effects (-fly being very popular while -knockback has cost more lives than it saved).
As a mind/psi dominator I like Subdue very much, but if there was one thing I could change about this power, I would remove the immob part.

    Nochmal Gruppengratsi an alle Puddinglöffler!
  23. The key to building domination fast is the aility to spam attacks with very short animation times. The Psi Dart machine-gun is notorious for achieving this with one single power although at later levels I found that less useful as I already had a very tight attack chain (with rather short animations) with much higher dps.
That´s why I found respecs very useful for my dominator, much more than for any of my other toons. Depending on your powersets, level and personal preferences you might want to slot some fast animating powers for recharge in the early game and respec later when you have access to more - perhaps equally fast animating - powers with higher dps.
However, have fun with your dominator. They are much better than one would think after reading the forums.
