Feindport

Magnitude Cap?

Now... if we only could make it stack...
4. Na, dann mal wb. Der Name Darth Venim kommt mir doch aus grauer Vorzeit noch bekannt vor.
5. I think so. He wants us to be creative and think of a blaster that makes less damage than a PB. Go all pool powers I say.

And on a sidenote: For a good blapper I would probably toss a coin between sonic and ice primary. Both sets offer great single target damage. I have played an ice corruptor to 40 and a sonic corruptor to 50 and both are very strong, with IMO ice being slightly better against "normal" bosses and sonic pulling a good deal ahead against EBs/AVs with it´s -res debuffs.

The thing is decieve is very defensive they way you use it. But you spend so much time using it, that you dont burn bfs.

I am not quite sure what you want to say...
All Confuse powers are very defensive in PvP unless you confuse a normally enemy-friendly NPC to attack your opponent as you can´t force human players to run up to their teammates and beat the snot out of them (although the occasional attack might hit before the confused player realises what is happening).
And I have absolutely no idea what the second sentence means... You spend much time using Deceive? Why? Because of it´s long duration and less people having protection against it it´s in most cases actually more time efficient than Blind. And why do you think not burning bfs is a bad thing? You sure want your enemy to burn bfs and that is even better with Deceive as you can even force most of those toons to use bfs who have hold protection and when someone is affected by holds and confuse powers the effect does not influence the rate of breakfree consumption. It´s the breakfree´s duration that matters... See, I just can´t make sense of the quoted sentences.
7. Hmm, I don´t use the first bind as I find that most of the time this is easier to double-click the power in question for the same effect.
The second bind is very useful although I would take a different order (as this changes the priority in the case that e.g. a shadow cyst and a sapper are in the same spawn). I use something similar (a "lookout" macro, because it´s easier to adjust) on all my toons for finding sappers and special mobs like event monsters, hostages or named bosses.
8. Oh, yes, it is very effective and you can have so much fun with Deceive in PvP on top of that. People are suddenly quite cautious with anything AoE and setting bots to aggressive in RV is just asking for trouble.
9. It depends heavily on your build if (and how much) you need Stamina. With a toggle-heavy human form things can get difficult because you have to find (or rather create) a heap of dead(/arrested ) bodies very often or your toggles will eat you alive.
On the other hand, the more you use alien forms the less you need Stamina.

A PVP Cor :)

My personal corruptor of choice is sonic/kin. I don´t like the arena, but I use him quite frequently for zonal PvP (more than any of my other toons) and think he is great for many things. Screech is great for stunning squishies and the stacked -res softens up less squishy prey. If a tanker dares and Taunts me (most probably because a teammate told him to rid him of that %&amp;#/§! freak) I make sure he repents it a few moments later. My favourite targets are /regen scrappers though.

Dom Damage Buffs

Yeah, Max explained it completely right. Basically, all damage buffs are calculated based on an attack´s unenhanced damage, but they do stack until you reach the damage cap.

13. I really had to laugh when I read this suggestion. It somehow reminds me of the (probably incorrect) Marie Antoinette quote: "If they have no bread, then let them eat cake!"
The problem with CoV (besides increased lagginess for some people) is that it can be quite hard to find enough people willing to team in your level range, let alone enough for two teams to merge. And this is not even because there are too few people on at a given time. It´s because everybody and his dog can solo in CoV and often enough I find that my progress is slowed down in PUGs... although I still like teaming.

On top of that, because of CoV ATs being more hybrid-like and stronger in offense than defense things can turn messy really fast as soon as there are one or two nutjobs on the team, a chance that is higher the bigger your PUG gets.
14. I open almost any EB/AV-fight with stacking Deceive as often as possible while the rest of the team assembles. It´s just a great way to make sure that the EB/AV is the only enemy left standing and as soon as the purple bubbles show up it´s a good opportunity for the team to stack debuffs and do some damage before he has any chance to retaliate. Plus, it´s hilarious.
15. Well, Stun can be the icing on the cake for PvP. Just two weeks ago a friend tried Stun in RV (after I had told him to give it a try with his respec).
He couldn´t stop laughing for minutes after breaking through a scrappers mezz protection just a few seconds after the fight had started.

They cheat.
17. Oh, just wait for the 40ies and the regular appearances of master-illusionists. You will be mezzed again. But besides that (and PvP) enemies will have a hard time pushing through your mezz protection.
18. Yes, most attacks have a smashing or lethal component, but not all of them. Off the top of my head I can remember being hit by pure energy damage (for example Mu and PPD kheldians), pure negative energy damage (CoT demons) and pure fire damage (Infernal, some CoT guys).
So, there is a point in taking other armours, but most of the time you are quite safe with Frozen Armour defence.

EDIT: Plus, as you mentioned resistance, this "maximum value"-thing only works for defence. Therefore resistance for additional damage types is always welcome.
19. <blockquote><font class="small">Antwort auf:<hr />
eg, would a 70%smash/30%energy attack tend to be mostly dodged by Frozen Armour, whereas a 30%smash/70% tend to have a larger chance to get through?

Or would both have equal chance to be avoided because my armour has defence against at least one component type?

Hope that makes sense. Thanks.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, it does make sense... and yes, you are absolutely right with your second assumption: Each attack that has even a slight s/l component will be equally dodged with Frozen Armour.
The game always takes the best of your defence values against the involved damage types and applies it against the whole attack regardless of the percentage of overall damage done by that damage type.
Hope that makes sense.
20. It´s been a while since I played a /ninjutsu stalker, but I found it quite easy to delay Kuji-In Rin and/or Kuji-In Sha to the 20ies since there is not that much need for mez protection and even less need for a self-heal before that point... at least if you have Placate.
As you don´t have too many normal attacks in the earlier levels because of AS taking away one power choice some fights around lvl 20 can turn messy if you can´t use your AS as often as possible... which is one of the main reasons for Placate´s existence. And for strong enemies who just don´t quite want to die from your AS Placate is just too useful: Build up -&gt; AS -&gt; Placate -&gt; Critting with strong attack -&gt; R.I.P.

Slotting a second end red in my attacks was very noticeable.

[/ QUOTE ]
I think this one needs emphasis. Two EndRdx in Tough and Acrobatics are fine. (In fact, nowadays it is mainly the "need" to take Tough and Acrobatics that makes /dark endurance-heavy.) Oppressive Gloom does indeed use only very little endurance (not really worth mentioning). One EndRdx in shields is ok, a second one would be hardly noticeable.
The big drainers are the attacks, most of them using more endurance per second during a fight than unslotted Tough and Acrobatics together and slotting even one of them with EndRdx would benefit you a lot more than the almost useless 4th slot in stamina.
