In short in my opinion, High-Level Villains should have the Arrogance, self-confidence and pure Egomania to walk (if we had a walk emote) straight through a pack of heroes without saying a word - knowing if anybody dare touch them, they would rip the hero's arm off and beat them with the wet end.

[/ QUOTE ]

I thought the Villains always say their Patron powers aren't as strong as our Epic powers?

[/ QUOTE ]
Ripping someone's arm off and beating him with the wet end is not a Patron power. It's part of the brute inherent.

Also, I phrased it as "Forms which act as toggles" rather than the other way around because there exists a form which acts as a "Click": Light Form. Light Form allows most Normal and Temporary powers to be used, but disallows Transforming into Dwarf or Nova form (see the "Modes_Disallowed - Peacebringer_Light_Mode" flag on those two form powers).

[/ QUOTE ]
Funny, that's one reason why I prefer to phrase it "toggles which act as forms" because there are also "click powers which act as forms" like Light Form and - to a lesser degree - Power Surge (also referred to as "gremlin mode" ). For me it makes more sense that way (as the "form" is just an effect of the power in question rather than a power type with different switch modes). I guess it's all a matter of point of view.

They're forms, aren't they? They might ACT as toggles, but they disable an awful lot of powers when you turn them on. Bit like Granite Armor, only moreso.

[/ QUOTE ]
Uhm, it's just the other way round: Kheldians' Dwarf and Nova forms are - just like Granite Armor - toggles. They must be fueled with endurance (although Kheldian forms pay their own cost with +recovery) and can be detoggled and behave just like toggles in any other way imaginable. They have special effects as they change the toon's appearance and disable other powers (or enable otherwise disabled powers), but in the end they are just toggles who act like forms (which is no official term for any power type in CoH/V).
4. Actually, as soon as we are talking about dps we are talking maths. If your opinion is 2+2=5 then more power to you, but in that case we could also start suggesting dropping Sweeping Strike because of someone's opinion that he would have the same dps.
And just for clarification: I don't look down on builds that don't have the ultimate dps or something like that but if somebody asks if it would be crazy to drop power x I think it's only reasonable to tell him why it is not crazy at all: The reason being that he would even increase his dps which might not be the measure of all things but isn't a bad thing at all.
I don't think dropping two Combos would take away from the set's secondary effect since you can basically spam the remaining two. You just get to choose which 'kind' of secondary effect you stick with.
Oh, and if you noticed, the OP mentioned that Confront/Taunt and Resurgence were already skipped and that he needs one more power to drop from either DB or WP. Saying he could drop his travel power, too, is probably an option, but not an option the OP asked for. When somebody asks for the way to the next restaurant I tell him the way to the next restaurant (or two or three of them if they are all close by) and not the way to the next supermarket because he could cook his own meal just as well.
5. Actually the defense buff from enforcers' leadership is more worth slotting than their tohit buff (which is not all that great). The defense buff is significantly bigger than the one you would get from taking Maneuvers.
Personally, I will just stick with my IO sets though.
6. Welcome to capitalism!
Supply and demand don't quite work in a linear fashion under the conditions set by CoH/V. The prices for some pieces of magical salvage surely seem out of proportion, but that has its reasons:
1. These pieces are needed for IOs that almost everybody wants to have regardless of AT or powersets. However this high demand is also true for some pieces of tech salvage (this is usually the more expensive tech stuff), but the difference is:
2. Enemies that drop tech salvage are usually more popular than those who drop magic salvage. The probably most popular villain group of them all, the Freakshow, drops tech. In the same level range you could also do CoT or Tsoo for magical salvage, but most people avoid these like the plague. And for level 50 repeatable missions there is still the council that poses minimal threat and will net you nice amounts of tech salvage while you have to face CoT or Carnies for magical salvage.
So, we have a high demand for some pieces of magical salvage that are dropped from enemies that (for most AT/powersets) are a lot less pleasant than their tech counterparts (additonally to their unnerving preference for hiding in caves).
So, while the demand in tech salvage can be met most of the time the prices for those pieces tend to behave in "reasonable" patterns while the prices for magical salvage explode because there is always a shortage and some people pay insane prices to be one of those who get the desired piece.
Now, what should be done against it? Nothing if you ask me. Any attempt to control and steer a market that behaves naturally so far can only end in failure and other problems (like magic opponents being shunned even more). Yes, this means that not everybody will be able to afford everything they might want to have, but it also means that everybody can make a fortune with a few lucky drops. It makes things more interesting.

WP guide?

I think one problem is that what can be said about WP is so quickly summarised that it is hardly worth the effort to write a guide about it unless you really go in-depth with proposed attack sets and all that.
Thinking about it I just might give it a try this weekend. Expect something entertaining with hard facts centered on brutes that just may be helpful for tankers and scrappers as well. (Stalkers are in a different ball park I will stay clear of.) Don't know if the first version will be in German or in English, though. Stay tuned!

Uber Grats

Oh, and a sonic/kin, too. Grats for this superb choice of toon (fun combination) and taking it to 50. Welcome to the club!
9. Well, the OP specifically asked if it was possible to drop one more power from DB or WP without crippling his brute.
In my opinion saying that he can drop either Nimble Slash or Blinding Feint (or both) and that he may very well increase his dps output in the process answers this question just nicely while stating that there is also the option of going with no travel power and less dps might be nice for you but does less so.
Now, if you just wanted to add a comment about the versatility and fun challenge of playing DB you are getting no argument from me. It's one beautiful set.
10. Indeed. I only played WP brutes so far (most of them on Test, but my live EM/WP is 50 since just before christmas ) and the aggro management seems... odd. Sometimes I have duoed with a corruptor only to find an enemy (not attacked by me or the corruptor but standing inside my aura) staring at me for a short time, then turning around to attack the corruptor and turning back to me right after the attack. Very strange behaviour that.
But other than that WP is fine if you take the complete set. I surely never felt that invincible with any of my other toons and have been able to pull off some truly interesting stunts.
Yesterday a broadsword scrapper attacked me in Warburg and couldn't overcome my regeneration despite of dropping a chem rocket right onto my head while I was pounding him into submission through his Unstoppable. When he complimented me on my remarkable toughness I was far too embarrassed to tell him that I hadn't even used Strength of Will and didn't have access to the Fighting pool at Warburg level.
11. The problem with Empower and Weaken is not that the effect was bad or something like that but other things: Both offer significant less dps when compared to Attack Vitals and Sweep and for both you have to take (and slot) Nimble Slash which doesn't help either. And with many opponents prone on the ground most of the time the accuracy debuff from Weaken does little to increase survivability.
It's all a matter of relation of cost and gain: By dropping Nimble Slash I lose a lackluster buff in Empower and a debuff that won't significantly affect survivability in most cases in Weaken. On the other hand I gain a free power pick, some more enhancement slots to distribute and an increase in overall dps.
Sounds like a deal.
12. Yeah, TK in the teens is really painful endurance-wise and far too situational to sacrifice one of the early power picks for.
Always remember: You are no controller. You are a dominator. Even if it were just for the sake of your inherent you still wanted to spam control powers and attacks which is next to impossible while upholding TK. Taking TK too early will make you a worse dominator.
13. Sitriel

Binds??

You might want to read this guide and perhaps this guide.
14. For brutes the Weaken and especially the Empower Combo aren't nearly as essential as Sweep, so dropping Nimble Slash is a viable option.
15. Qick Recovery is better than Stamina, so if you would be fine with the latter you will be very pleased with the former. For some attack powersets taking both is an even better idea, though. (My EM/WP brute is living proof of this. )
16. Könnte man sich nicht eine etwas, nun ja, mildere Strafe für Kerensky ausdenken?

Nah, who am I trying to fool here? You are overestimating yourself quite a lot.
18. Agreed. Making an inane and flawed claim and adding a childish comment along the lines of "Most people who play the game well know this though" is easy as you very well demonstrated.

So, you got +perception?

But seriously, making a flawed on-topic claim to justify a personal attack on someone else is one thing. Backing this claim up with even weaker explanations is just pathetic. I think this stalker has just scored a crit against himself.

I can see how Aid Self works better for claws. Knockbacks or the Knockdown is just right amount of time for Aid Self.

[/ QUOTE ]

The is no Knockdown in the claws set. Only Knockback. Most people who play the game well know this though.

[/ QUOTE ]

Except for the knockdown power in the set you are correct.

Unless you mean that in game terms all powers are knockdown and their mag determines if they are knockback?

No, SweetChilli just means to throw &lt;bleep!&gt; at Shannon for reasons unknown like his/her/its last three posts (of which one is the one above) show.
22. Hehe, yes, some use keybinds for the same purpose and some have 'refined' versions of these.
Personally, I have my 1st tray change to the current form's tray and my 3rd tray changed to human form tray when using Nova or Dwarf (so that I can see when Hasten, Sunless Mire, Dark Extraction and Eclipse are recharged) and changed back to 'non-combat powers' tray (e.g. Rest, base teleport) when switching to human form. Very handy!

WP Taunt aura

Well, at the moment RttC doesn't make anything too easy at all (at least for teammates who rely on brutes/tanks holding aggro ). To the contrary: It makes aggro management utterly unpredictable as opponents seem to lose aggro between two ticks. Many, many times it has happened when duoing with a corrruptor that I was standing in the middle of some mobs and one enemy suddenly turned around, attacked the corruptor and turned back to face my brute again directly afterwards. This has some comedy value with slow attackers who look at me for two to three seconds without doing anything at all, turn around, hit the corruptor, turn back, stare at me for another two to three seconds, turn around, hit the corruptor etc.
<blockquote><font class="small">Antwort auf:<hr />
Even tried the shoot-group-run-behind-corner, where the tanker was at the corner letting all mobs walk into the aura, non got through to me.

[/ QUOTE ]
Tried the same in a brute/corruptor duo and felt utterly ignored when most mobs just ran past me.

Guck mal, was du angerichtet hast! Die ganzen Buchstaben verkleckert!
