  1. Great video.

Long time Burn Notice fan (I mean Bruce Campbell, how can you not love it). The voice overs are the best piece of the show and unfortunately later in the series they have gotten somewhat away from it. Still a decent compelling storyline with characters I enjoy and a great ensemble cast.
  2. I already played Sonic to 50 with Illusion. He's my favorite character but I know it's not because of Sonic. I really wish they would show the set some love
  3. While I have some massive love for Superior Invisibility, for my planned Illusion/DA troller, I am going to use Shadow Fall and Group Invisibility (which is easily perma) for full invis. Group Invis is also a one slot wonder & a nice place to stick a LOTG proc so it works out pretty nice.

Also, yes to recharge. Defense should be a secondary concern if at all and becomes almost pointless when PA is perma. Perma PA is a game changer and what makes Illusion the AV/GM soloer control set.
  4. Respecing into lift and taking Crush later in the build. But I'm on a Grav/FF so starved for power slots I am not. I already had Dimension Shift so the change will be fun to play with. Being able to slot it with immob may get me to find some new slotting for it depending on my slot availability. I kind of parked her at 36 when I heard changes were coming to the set. I'm pretty excited to go back to playing her, but first I have to tire of being able to run around DA with my incarnates

I'm really liking i22 and I haven't even made my Dark trollers yet
  5. Now Chicken & Waffles...

P.S. - I want some chicken & waffles like nao...
  6. If you aren't capped on it, 2 Numina's in health net you more regen than the tissue proc.
  7. Use Hover, it will help you stay out of melee range.

Now for my more typical verbose answer:
The thing with only getting Ranged def vs. S/L is that Positional Defense (Melee, Ranged, AoE) only protects from the respective position. So as long are you are being attacked at Range, your Ranged defense helps you, but if you are engaged in Melee (ie by being grounded and ambushed) that defense does NOTHING to help you. Whereas Typed Defense protects against any attack (Melee/Ranged/AoE) that is made against you. The most common Typed Attack are Smashing and Lethal and therefore the majority of builds aim for as much Smashing and Lethal Defense as can be obtained. So in short, building for Ranged is all well and good but be aware that if you fail to stay at Ranged there is no defense to back that up.
  8. I have a DA/Kin tank and the stacking stuns and -Dam are pretty sweet. If you find enough slots for Cloak of Fear, I'd strongly consider DM for stacking Fear on hard targets.
  9. The vitriol because some people dare to be new to something or playing a character not fully ioed and just turned 50 aside...

There is little incentive to do the new trials as pointed out aside from experiencing new content. The rewards aren't that much improved over LAM and BAF. And if you've got a brand new 50 still on common IOs and SOs you basically can't help a league on anything besides these two. Even with one level shift you're more of a liability.

And the nature of trials means that the vast majority of them are PUGs, so you are kind of taking what you can get and hoping that everyone follows directions. If people don't follow directions on MoM, TPN, UG, and to a lesser extent Keyes you are guarunteed failure. While with LAM and BAF if people are just kind of doing their own thing a few competent people can pull it off regardless of people not following directions.

Finally, I've been on ~5 failed trials with 3 +3s and 5 +1s at various levels of advancement to +3. I've also been through every trial multiple times save DD, and learning as I go through each of them. I'd say that the number of glaringly incompetent VIPs is rather small and sometimes you just have to understand that mistakes happen and people are learning.
  10. I'd love the second to be true, but I think we can all agree the part about them misunderstanding how we utilize the power is far more likely
  11. I'd concur MM as a suggested secondary. Ice primary is likely much better than Electric (I've avoided Electric thus far) and as pointed out you can go Electrical Mastery for the trifecta and a 3rd cone.
  12. I'm thinking of going /Empathy. I tried Electric Control/Empathy but it was mind numbing so I deleted the character. I want to enjoy playing Empathy and Dark Control looks like it'll be active enough with some ok damage to make it not so unbearable.

I'm likely going to do my first repeat with Dark Affinity and pair it with Illusion, simply because I want to play Dark Affinity and my favorite Controller thus far after having played all other control sets has been my Illusion/Sonic so I ought to play it with something else I'll enjoy.
  13. I wanted to like snipes when I started playing. So I used them in play and realized how godawful they really are. Now I am happy to have powers in sets that I can skip without thinking about it because there are pool powers I want to help with survivability. I wouldn't mind if snipes stopped being the instant skip powers that they are now, but I can't say I know what would get me to rethink the position. The only set I've settled on taking them is Beam Rifle because of the guarunteed spread effect, but even then the power sits unused a lot. The interupt is what ruins snipes for me, I think (I avoid the medicine pool for the same reason). I realize that's intrinsic to the role of a snipe but as long as that exists I can't see using the power in combat and as an opener/puller, I'll just use a single target attack that I can immediately follow up with something else instead of being rooted for 8 seconds.
  14. If the choice is between those two sets, ElecArmor would be the choice I would use for endgame. Capped Energy Resist and decent Psy resists, build for S/L defense backed with decent S/L resists and you're set.
  15. Black.Heat (+2 Shade) is going to come to Freedom and show ya'll jive turkey's how to get down.
  16. This weekend could potentially be bad for me since I have a lot going on but if I happen to be on, drop me a tell and I'll likely join up.
  17. Spiritual (edit: or Agility if you swing that way) is your friend.

EDIT: Also, THB posted a quick and dirty build in the How to take an Alpha Solo that did just this without any Purples. I used his rough sketch for my base on my future build because I've come to realize that I'll prolly never purple out a build with my insane altitis.
  18. Sorry was a busy weekend for me so I missed Friday and Saturday. I'll likely be around on Wednesday and a good chance for Friday. Saturday is booked for me this weekend. So I'll see ya'll Wednesday if not sooner. Feel free to shoot me a /t @Sir Hextor and I'll likely jump over to play with whomever...except Psylenz cause he is stinky
  19. For serious, ElM is great for taking out hordes of Minions and Lts, but when you get to those few Bosses, your ST damage is so anemic in comparisson that you'll just be praying that the blaster would kill the jerk already (and I personally LOVE ElM as it's my first 50's attack set and I still get giddy rolling through masses of enemies). If you go FA, you don't need much more AoE to ruin minions' and LTs' days, you'll want some good ST damage. For that I'd suggest StJ, DM, Stone, and SS. All those should give you that and will enjoy the damage from Fiery Embrace. You won't be the most survivable Brute without a big investment, but you are surviving by doing DAMAGE to those punks who thought to mess with you. The fools, FOOLS I TELL YOU muhahahahahaha!!!!! er....sorry. Yeah, that's my thoughts.
  20. I figure why not? I'm still playing around with my builds in mids and I'm bored pulling a double at work, I should give it a try. This build is the best because it is a natural without crazy things like fireballs. You pull out spiky things to throw on the ground and a shuriken cause you are a boss ninja like that (see the stealth in sprint, all ninja like). And since this is a MMORPG we all know concept is key...plus you play on Virtue so you're supposed to have concept and stuff

Lotus Drops wants to have the full Scrapper set, preferably superior. It's not always softcapped (just apply DA a couple times and stop your whining) and I chased some resists, especially Psi since those stoopid Seer wenches like to use it, so you'll not only be regening like a boss but also ignoring 15-32% of all incoming damage and then healing it back like regen do.

::Edit:: As a note, how do you wimpy Scrappers deal with such a piddly HP cap??
  21. I doubt you'll find any servers 'heavily populated' with stalkers. There just aren't that many people who the playstyle appeals to, especially given the speed of most player's experiences. Stalkers are the Melee AT that can't be counted on to keep the attention of more than one mob because of the way aggro works (granted there are exceptions, but that rings true mostly). As for where I play, I've never been on a team that kicked someone just because they are not on a Tank/Brute/Scrapper but neither have I been on a mostly full team and they started requesting specifically for stalkers either.

Also, lolstalkers....at least until i22 drops
  22. Sir Hextor

    Intuition Alpha

I think the around 6% loss of damage (because honestly, you're likely at the ED cap for damage anyways) would be well worth all the more useful enhancements in Radial Intuition. You'll still be getting a damage boost and the Def Debuff but now with a to hit debuff (which you weren't going to get with Core Musculature) and Hold (useful) buff instead of an Immobilize (useless, for your likely build). And oh yeah, you get do be that much further from the crap you are destroying with your debuffs and damage.
  23. I see on your list you have no DA tanks. I would suggest you do that with Kinetic Melee. OG + the stuns in KM makes me happy and it was the first Tank I got to 50. You could do the same on a scrapper since KM is supposed to be extra good on a scrapper, but I really like the base resists on a DA Tank.

EDIT: Once I22 drops, there is a strong argument to go KM on a stalker, but that wasn't one of the ATs you listed, so I didn't put it down.
