You have to remember Blasters have a secondary that largely puts them in the thick of melee
-
Yeah I looked at this and thought "why not a khled?" as well. I think you'll find either flavor fit your goals pretty well.
-
I like new shinies for sure. Also, I'm still at the stage of play where I am not retrying powerset choices and I am running out of secondaries for the number of primaries (and this is with skipping the largely duplicated powersets like Broadsword/Katana or War Mace/Battle Axe) so personally more secondaries would make me much happier than new primaries, but I recognize that as a largely selfish position. I'd like to see everything proliferate and a little more of a balance between new set choices (From GR, 4 new melee sets, 2 control, 1 blast, 1 pet, 1 support, 1 assault). I know melee is popular and it's probably slightly easier to develope for but I'd like to see other ATs get some love too (poor doms). Of course, I'm really happy with the shear ammount of content the team is developing versus what was put out over the past year of playing, which truthfully has been a pretty dang awesome year in terms of releases. In other words, it's a pretty exciting time in Paragon City/the Rogue Isles.

I like these suggestions and my tri-form is certainly slot hungry (if it weren't for the MFing guide I'd have NO CLUE how to begin slotting him), but as mentioned more slots supposedly breaks the game. The QoL improvements would be great, and I feel like especially A and B are needed while C I'm kind of opposed to simply because I think that's a part of the AT and D I feel is pretty unnecessary (I'm not real savy and don't use binds like at all and I have very little trouble with it). I like the line of thinking from point 6 too but you'd piss off a lot of folks who used those powers to help get more IO set bonuses. It'd be a little harder to get some recharge and defense IO sets your way but would make the AT a lot less slot strapped and open up some fun choices for those of us who are triforms (some of my human powers feel whoafully underslotted for having to slot up my form powers).
-
First, what lvl is your troller? Until you get FS, you don't see the real DPS boost.
I haven't played the two sets together, but I think once you have imps and FS you'll see the DPS hit the ceiling. I think your friend is seeing a lot of Defs with the combo since they just got Fire Blast last prolif and Fire/Kin Cors are pretty dang hot when they get rolling. I've seen a lot of all 3 ATs on the two servers I play (Virtue and Exalted) and it's pretty hard to suck with Kinetics (I've got a Kin/Dark Def and I get giddy when I play him, even though I secretly burn inside for not making him a cor). -
I've been lvling up an Ice/Time troller and even though I'm only fighting +0 or +1 enemies, I'm noticing the impact of -recharge versus my other trollers. It's not a huge mitigation, but if you can get it use it. I'd not build quite so heavily for it, since there is a ceiling and you'll hit it pretty readily. I plan on using the DWD in Time's Juncture coupled with Artic Air's -recharge to further mitigate melee attacks. I don't think I'd go as crazy with the procs as you are suggesting, but maybe one in distortion field. I'm kind of thinking of picking up another interface besides reactive since everyone and their mother seems to have it and if you team you'll be hitting the 5x stacking cap on it real quick. Solo, it's hard to not pick it though.

I'm enjoying my Grav troller, and it's not from the boost I get from my secondary either ( /FF ). That being said, there are some major drawbacks to playing her. Propel's animation time for effect is a big one. Lift being sucktastic isn't really good either. And Wormhole not stunning first then TPing is pretty terribad (I pretty much only use it to move already locked mobs onto the tank in the team). Those few tweaks would make a huge difference.
As for Dimensional Shift, I was initially going to skip it, because phase powers I generally frown upon. Then I got this crazy idea to pick it up to grief some friends of mine occassionally (you know, for laughs). So I grabbed it and went on a Moonfire shortly thereafter and found a few very situational uses for the power (ie We had no tank so no aggro control, multiple pulls, team split wipe, etc). I'm okay with a situational power that is functional without much slotting (I was doing ok with an SO ACC), especially if some of the other powers got some tweaks to smooth out the set's performance. Some reordering of power picks would probably be a good idea but my personal experience with that is limited (DFB makes the first 20 lvls a breeze through in comparison to previous lvling). -
I really wish I could swing this because it sounds like a lot of fun, but unfortunately that weekend is booked solid for me. Have a good time
-
I feel really silly because I'm really liking my Ice/Time and Grav/FF trollers. But I could see them needing a looking at in comparrison to the other control sets (I'm looking at you Plant and Earth).
-
Man I hope these changes happen. I may actually get a Stalker out of the 20s then
-
Fade really ought to be a team buff. That is a bad call if only a teammate buff, especially in comparison to /Time. Oh wells, still excited for Dark Control at least
-
I like it on my Ice/Time (it lets me double hold bosses while only taking one hit from them or set up containment on two crits to at least give a small boost to my abysmal damage) but I might skip it on Ill. Then again probably not cause more control for Illusion is nice, even if not strictly necessary (I mean my Illusion troller is /Sonic
s).

GIVE ME THE NEW SHIN...er...OILINESSES??!!?!!?? Whatevs, I wants the new stuff so I can excuse myself to buy more character slots :P

I play a Tri-Form WS and I love him
He's not fully IOed so I mostly play him on SOs, but the forms can be a little frustrating. If any changes come to Khelds in general, I think I'd agree that the only things that ought to change about them are Toggle suppression in forms and slightly shorter animation times for shapeshifting. The number of times I've dropped out of a form for Hasten to refresh or to recap resistance and faceplanted having to pop the self rez seems a little silly. And the times I've tried to unMez myself before eating an alpha strike only to have the animation time kill me have also been frustrating. If those two changes were in place, my WS would rock even harder.
As for being able to see your costume while in a form, I'd love to see that as a power customization option, but that's really a QoL improvement that I'd place pretty far down the list as far as I'm concerned. I understand people's gripes with it, but it's one of the charms of the AT as far as I'm concerned -
I've got a 50 ElecM/Invuln brute and I've played WP up (on a tank, but not yet 50). To my mind, Invuln is the way to go on a non-SA Gargoyle. And outside of trials, my Brute just laughs at most stuff (of course, my tank can just stand there FOREVER, attacking as long as he has End) while he AoEs the crap out of whatever spawn and if in a pinch he takes a little damage DP will pretty much always be there to keep him upright. I really miss that with WP. My only recourse with WP is to self rez and toggle up again. And WP T9 is no comparison to Unstoppable. I <3 Unstoppable and it truly makes you feel unstoppable...until you crash.

I posted an Ill/Sonic build a few days back. I've played mine to 50++ and started IOing him out. I went Spiritual to make it much cheaper to Perma PA and Ageless to help with the END problems and boost recharge even more. Reactive for interface makes the DPS REDICULOUS. I chose the Fire APP for concept and also because of Consume and the stacking of resistance shields (he runs at ~60% res to S/L/F). When he's done, he'll have a little bit of def to support that resistance, a ST attack chain that decimates and solid AOEs with Judgment and Fireball. Even without tier 4s or IOs, I'm pretty solid solo and an asset to teams I'm on. Since I reposted a build, I've not heard anything back, which makes me assume I did it right. I'm still tweaking the build in mids as I go through IOing him since he's my first IO character, so even my build is not complete, but he's a lot of fun so far.
-
I've a concept in mind for Ice/TW, but since I don't use the test server (I prefer to use the time I do have to play one of my many alts), I've no clue if the pairing will work, so I'm waiting to hear some player feedback on the sets viability and synergy. I've also got a Shield/Ice concept in mind, but he'll have to wait until I get a few more alts up the porverbial ladder.
-
Just a note (I'm only a little bit into my Ele/Poison Troller), it's my understanding that the Targeted AoE debuffs in poison really aren't AoE (I've yet to notice them hitting groups like I anticiapated an AoE to hit, but like I said, I haven't played him much). On paper, the buffs are really solid though and if built right it should work out about the same as rad, only without AM (which means you have to work harder to Perm PA) and a heal (which poison's is laughably weak and single target). The aura looks like it'll be a butt to get manageable to run all the time (if that's what you're thinking of doing). That plus the END for Sup Invis would give me pause.
-
Piggy backing off of this, what levels of -KB matter. I've seen some people say that -4 is ok for most things, -8 is useless unless you're on your way to -12. What about -11? Just curious sine that's the goal on my DA tank.
-
I disagree. My DA/KM Tank is only 32, but the effectiveness of Dark Regen (which unlike Stygian Circle only requires enemies in range, not that they be dead) even with SOs is far and away the biggest asset of the set. All the toggles are a bit END heavy, but so are most toggle sets without adequate slotting. I have 2 IOs on her (Steadfast Pro:-Knockback and +def) and I pretty much never worry about her dying. I pop blues pretty regularly even with my attacks slotted for END reduction, but that's mostly because I fire off the heal after taking alphas then periodically throughout a fight to keep up. With DA, if they can't kill you between uses of Dark Regen, they can't kill you. It's pretty solidly balanced with just SOs in it. I can't wait until I get her fully Incarnated out and start IO building her.
If DA needs any changes it's to that ghod awful fear aura (they fixed the stealth aura killing your costume which is awesome). Super high END cost & crap for accuracy, I wanted to make it work because I love fear powers in principal and in this concept, but it just ain't happening on this build. -
Also, thinking about replacing one of the Decimation set in SW with a Damage dealing Proc since that deals real damage added to it. I also went reactive on interface, but I'm tempted by the new immobilize interface since that also has a DoT affect option.
Also, on the resist proc, with my shields and it I'm giving the Phantasm 45% resist to everything but Psi. It seemed like a good idea and gave me some defense to boot.
And a question about Lore Pets, right now I have t2 Seers, but I am really unhappy with them. Are Phantoms any good or do I really hurt myself by not going Warworks or Cims? -
Ok last time for true obnoxiousness. I took out a purple set to try and save a little inf. Not sure if I've succeeded or not. Still Perm PA with Spiritual. So revision 3 is out and ready to be bashed...er....helped to a better build.

Also, the Perm PA is with Spiritual, since that is what I was building for. And the lack of -Knockback was an oversite. I had it once, then got rid of it to do as you suggested and didn't add it back.
-
Ok made some slight differences in slotting and power choice (the Burnout thing was a little gimmicky and if I'm being honest I don't ever use it). When I did that, I got PA to perm
The Ranged Defense from Coercive is because it was really tempting. The fifth slot of BasGaze in Blind was for the set bonus and I figured the proc could help on foes that don't get held by it. I probably should drop the 6th Decieve slot, and move it to Blind for a HamiO. I had Thunderstrike for the Defense and Accuracy bonuses and I feel like I'm missing the accuracy throughout the build now. Sorry about the busted link, I checked it on the new build above and it works. This was the first time I've exported from Mids and posted.
