Though technically not melee, or armored, I've been having a lot of fun on a fire/traps corruptor lately. With the forcefield generator that covers you (and teammates who aren't too far away) it's easy to hit the softcap, and you get it at level 6 or something - getting mezzed has never been a problem. Playstyle favors being up in the thick of things, even though the attacks are ranged (hey, 2 feet is a "range" isn't it?). High damage due to fire blasts, with nice debuffs, it's another pylon-fighting powerset. -

I would also talk to plainguy if you get a chance, I know he is fond of hitting positionals without Ffg. I think it gives up too much, but the more opinions the better I think.

Here is something for you to look at. I stuck the ragnaroks in because I didnt want to go over the rule of 5 cap for the 6.25% recharge.
When playing traps, it is very important to me to have them out asap, so I upped the recharge signifigantly. The -regen on pgt only last for 30 seconds, so getting its recharge under that is optimal. and, well, the more mortars and triage beacons the better. you get two of them out, and everyone is a regen scrapper. Sorry you lost the grenade, but between pgt and acid mortar, a good deal of the spawn should be all set for an trip mine, ignite, and full auto combo. Whatever comes out after that you can nail with your insta snipe and flamethrower.
I as well would worry about your end, and recommend cardiac. it also has the bonus of bringing you close to the resistance cap for sm/l.
Dont worry about iSoftcap so much, there are tons of buffs flying around anyway, and if needed, a small purple will bring you beyond for range and energy.
An interesting combo, may have to actually build one.
Just noticed I dropped you by 4 kb points... can try to get it back somehow, or slot an winters gift instead of one of the botz(my first choice).
Sorry about the glad amour as well. All those 45's just looked too sexy to not...
Christ... Forgot to mention I use enhancement boosters as well.

Am taking a look at it Aett. Few things I would change on the traps side. not familliar with AR. See some interesting possibilities with the combination though. Am guessing you want to keep it on the more inexpensive side?

Just a note - if you encase your text file with code markers ( [ CODE ] at the start and [ CODE ] at the end, remove the spaces between the brackets and CODE to make them work) It makes it display on the screen a lot easier to read as you get a mini-window within the message so it can be scrolled independently. You can manually add them in or select the text you want inside the code markers and click on the code tool at the top of the edit screen (its the # sign at the end of the formatting bar).

One more in that last batch of missions brings you up to 5 total. I am tempted to roll up an MA scrapper to do an actuall comparable test as that seems extremely anaemic to me.

Wow. Busy thread overnight. I don't have anything to add numbers wise. I do know that a purple drop is supposedly 1 in about 3k or so on average. Sometimes it feels like my average is way higher than that, but I have to admit my numbers are skewed by ae defeats. Even if I know that defeats don't count towards a purple drop, my perception is that my average is higher than 1 drop per 3k defeats.
As for luck... Not sure what to tell you. Maybe you being held up 3 times in one day with a flat tires meant that you weren't at an intersection when a drunk driver went through... Life is funny that way. I personally don't believe I have much luck. Good or bad. -
Can also slot the crit chance ato in one of your attacks to increase your crit percentages. Course if it's as bad as you say, that would only be like an extra crit every 2 missions...
And layer your defenses on your invuln. That's the strength of the set. Can layer defense on top of your resistances and be perma hp capped. -
I will toss a fireball at a x8 spawn and crit 4 of the mobs. I seriously can't be bothered to count how many times I crit in a mish. I would need at least ten more fingers and toes.
My advice, roll a scrapper that has a taunt aura and you get the best of both worlds. Just so happens that 2 scrapper sets with taunt aura's(invuln and shield) can be built to be bordering on the ridiculously survivable side. Bonus points for shield being better on scrappers as well(does more damage than on a brute).
Fire/shield is insane. -
