Is -dmg to resistance as -tohit is to defense? That is, -dmg and -tohit applied to the mobs, theoretically increases your resistance/def?
-
After my 3rd time dying, I would probably step back twenty feet, make sure I stand behind the AV, and only fire off my ranged attacks like throw spines, impale, my vets, and of course a fireball to the face.
Regenerations strength is that it treats all incoming damage the same. Vector or type does not matter. Layer that with defense, and you will never die.
Really though. If you are not having fun playing the toon, why is this even a question? -
Run Herostats. My scrapper will run at a different efficiency than your MM. Just like my scrapper runs at a different efficiency than my tank. Only way to be sure is to test your own toon at different difficulties.
If you don't need to be that accurate, run at the highest difficulty that does not slow down your kill time. -
Quote:First, Dual boxing, or two separate players playing them?I know this has been asked before, but I haven't seen recent threads of it with the advent of the Alpha slot and whatnot (If there is excuse my pooor search-fu). So, I'm going to ask this now:
If your opinion, what do you consider the "Strongest combo" of two toons is? It can be of any AT and power sets. And for the purpose I'm thinking generally. As in a combo that capable of mass AoE carnage and smiting GMs/AVs easily, Duo-ing all kinds of (Master of) TFs/SFs. A combo that is able to achieve great acts of craziness that other combos will be hard pressed to even think about. Of course, when looking that far, price isn't a problem. I'm thinking, for example, something along the lines of an ill/Emp troller and a Ill/Cold troller would be amazingly powerful. Or Fire^3 Dom and a Fire/Cold corr.
EDIT: I realize the game is pretty easy as is. That's why the difficulty settings are there :P
Thoughts?
Second. Way too many options available. Seriously. Though I would love to see a well coordinated Fire/Rad and Fire/Kin Corr team rip things up. -
These days I am starting to think Doms are just about the safest way to steamroll +4/8. I can do it on my tank, and even my scrapper is pretty solid at it w/inspirations. Doms just seem to do it faster and safer.
As far as fire being resisted... Resistance is futile. -
Quote:I guess jousting mobs with my defender back in the day was exploiting as well. I can live with that.A tether isn't really a "tool" to be used. It's actually supposed to be an anti-exploit tool itself, and using it to make Recluse "easy" doesn't seem to be "good gaming". It's taking advantage of poor coding (if I were coding a tether, the tethered mob would clear all threat (and probably most other effects) when pulled back.)
It is nice to be able to succeed using different methods rather than everyone stop in front of the AV and faceroll the keyboard. -
Anytime I play with a Archery blaster on the team. ROA = Sad scrapper with nothing to hit.
Solution is on the next floor up. -
It used to be using all the tools at your disposal was considered good gaming. Now apparently it is exploiting. It isn't like he is saying he is flying under the map and taunting or anything.

Just happened to me now at 7:10am est. Justice server. Restarting the instance cleared problem for me.

Short answer: The toon you enjoy playing the most.
Also, though I suppose it could be done, my Spines/Fire would probably be my last toon I would take out of my garage to solo an AV. He gets taken out to crush enemies, see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentation of the women. -
-
Can always get respec recipes as well. I would only go that route if the 10 IO's you wanted to pull off the toon were worth more than 200 million infl.

Quote:Pretty sure they were added because sonic was introduced, and people were suddenly fighting mobs with -resist powers. Not right with Issue 5, but a mere 20 days after. The timing is still right on for them being a palliative effort from GDN.
Wiki copy of the notes.
Oh, look, that's the same patch that reduced Believer from 10 defeats of Sally, who was still on a once in a blue moon spawn timer, to 2. I was just talking about that to someone while we were gathering for a Katie TF last week. -
Do the Harvey Maylor carnie story arc to get the demon farm. If he isn't already one of your contacts, you can run radio missions till you get introduced to him. Pretty sure Unai Kemen will also introduce you to him.

How large is giant? I have a scrapper that aggroes a spawn, then heads into the next spawn and starts killing. I am then fed a consistent supply of mobs that attack me one by one cheesy Kung Fu style.
Tankers are great at this as well, as are brutes. However, these days everyone and thier sister is softcaped, so controllers may fair well under these conditions, and unsurprisingly doms are quite effective as well. -
I four slot with Performance shifter for the 2.4% end recovery and the proc.

Pretty sure toxic doesn't have a tag either.
Unless you already have a path to cap psi (stone, dark armors for example) I don't see much point in focusing on it. Have to pull too much from other area's for my comfort. -
Quote:A bots/storm was the first toon that let me embrace knockback. It helps that it is ridiculously powerful and safe. For a lot of knockback, a Peacebringer could be a great option.
But if you want to do damage, I'd suggest the storm/energy defender, an energy/energy/energy blaster, or a BOTS/STORM.
For a great annoyance toon, I recommend a grav/ff. Can be ever so helpful, or ever so annoying depending on how much you like the team. -
I have an absolute blast with my bots/storm.
With practice, it is pretty trivial to corner a spawn and unleash the wave of glorious orange numbers of freezing rain, tornado, lightning storm, and a full spawn worth of 10+ burn patches from your assault bot can do. It is pretty easy to softcap yourself and bots(except your prot bots) and that pairs nicely with the -tohit from huricane. On teams, You can dial the kb back so teammates wont develop a facial tick. Solo, you can go full retarded without worrying about witnesses.
However, since everyone else in this thread has recommended storm as well, I will also suggest a Fire/traps corruptor. Traps is an awesome set with many tools to keep you safe, and the spawn primed for a fiery melty defeat. -
$500, and you never have to log on even once! We will even send a certificate to an address of your choosing stating that you have won the game!

Guess so, I extrapolated the "Don't feed the trolls" smiley to mean you thought Aett was the troll, and I was nourishing him. Perhaps I should look up a smiley to English translator. Does google have one?

Quote:Maybe they should sell lvl 50 toons to an account for a premium. They could charge less than the pling companys do. Would that interest you as well?Actually I would quite happily pay a reasonable fee for a "Premium Respec" that let me change my primary/secondary powerpools. I'd probably be happy paying double or triple the existing name/server change fee.
Even if it was a several times more expensive than the name/server change fees, a Premium Respec fee would give the devs an extra revenue stream that would somewhat compensate for the extra alt slots people would stop buying and, perhaps more importantly, the shift in population between powersets would be a big red flag showing which powersets needed tweaking to make them competetive. -
What if I want to keep a certain enhancement in build three, but don't need it in build one. If I respec it out of three and sell it, will it then come out of build one as well? They should probably quadruple our enhancements just in case.
