I did it with the Interface slot because I've never managed to get onto a Lambda team, ever or see one forming. It always seems to be BAFs running.

Seems like loads (and it kinda is) but I sold the proceeds of a-merit random rolls to earn it fairly quickly with my Fort/Night Widow.
    Incarnate XP
There’s been some curiosity about the amount of Incarnate XP required to unlock each slot. To help sate that curiosity, here are the actual amounts of XP required to unlock each slot:
Converting threads is 50,000 iXP per thread if I recall correctly.

Community Digest is your friend. Also, the respec is COH's aniversary gift to you. Not sure about tailor stuff, but you will probably notice you also have a shiney new character slot token.

Not positive. Dont really feel like testing either, takes long enough to get the salvage I need. I started up the same tree, and until I hit the 3rd tier, created the exact same pieces. As I was organizing salvage for my second tier 3, I noticed that the t4 wouldnt take 2 of the same t3 parts.

I almost made this exact mistake because I was under the impression you could use any 2 as well. The caveat is they can't be the same two.

Some heafty sacrifices made here. Not even sure I would ever run this build, but its quite plausible.

At this point it's probably between ice and dark for me. But still...wish I could make a fire defender
I have a dp/sonic sitting at about 20ish or so and don't feel its lacking.

Honestly, if you are on Justice or Guardian, I can help you get a corr up to 20 and even run tips with you if you want to side switch. There really isnt anything else like a fire/traps corr in my experience.
  7. I might consider /Ice for Ice Storm. If you plan on taking the toon incarnate, paired with reactive, the rain, and trops are impressive. Blizzard I wouldnt take because of the crash, but YMMV.

I've always thought archery would pair well with traps, but standing in the middle of a spawn set for 8 for 4 seconds waiting while animating roa kinda sucks the interest out for me. Explosive arrow could potentially knock the mobs out of your traps if used carelessly.

I might also consider Dual Pistols. Two cones, a Targeted Aoe and a pbaoe add up to a decentish aoe set. The -res from acid mortar helps offset the perceived lower damage of pistols. The -damage from chem rounds has potential to increase your surviveability by quite a bit. Again, if you go Incarnate, and reactive, pretty sure you get a chance to proc off each dot tic if using incendiary ammo as well.
  8. So I caved on Blaze. Doesn't make sense to kill my fodder. Went through the thread and pulled advice. How does it look now?

    No more capped DDR

Forgot to mention this in the other post but Siphon Life isn't slotted for any healing which is a huge boom for Dark/Shield.
Does an extra 6% heal per activation make that big of a difference?

I have tweeked the first build a bit, but will post it after I see the changes you made to the build. Thanks again for your time mate,

Kinda leaning towards build two. I like shadow maul, I like the better end numbers, and I am not sure if trading owts for grant cover is worth it. I am not sure if I actually have the attention span to not use my aoe's and just focus on the best attack chain so the best dps isnt really an issue, as long as it does decent st and okayish aoe.

    Thanks for any input.

Thanks. I very rarely run a toon without some sort of end recovery power. Endurance = XP imo.

That is exactly what the game has been the last 7 years. Every time you roll an alt and lvl it up by repeating content, you are farming xp. The devs can't ever hope to produce content faster than we can consume it. Just because you use a different tractor this season, doesnt mean the farm doesnt look the same...

If the devs are so against farming, there is no way we would have the option to set our missions to +4/8. Did you think it was people looking for a challenge that was responsible for all the mass tells and broadcast spam requesting mission bumps?

Obviously inherit stamina helps and there is slotting your abilities for end reduction, but is there any trick to living outside the safety net of heavy end regen powers?

Take out mobs that drain endurance first.
Obviously, no travel powers or unessessary toggles on while in combat.
    Do not auto Hasten.
    Pace yourself.
AOE's generally take more end, so don't fire them off unless you are actually hitting more than 3 mobs.

I know some of these are quite obvious, but I will probably reference this post next time Ultimo_ complains of end issues.

I will second this. My Fire/traps is my new favorite and my first "blasting" toon to ding 50 in 7 years. The mez protection from ffg is what first got me into it. I stayed for the massive debuffs and awesome damage. Even debuffed with scrapperlock, it handles quite well.

Really, making it possible to solo +4/8 content is about as close as they can say it is okay for players to farm without actually having to say it.

Consider the fact that I need to run the iTrials several hundred more times before it even approaches the amount of times I have run other missions/tf's, having to run them mutliple times does not chafe on me at all.

    More importantly, IT DOESN'T MATTER.

Shards are going to drop every time you do 'old' content. It's just coded that way. So you can let them build up pointlessly, or you can take the 3-5 seconds required to bump up ten of them a day.

As a matter of fact, this provides a small but useful influence sink, so I encourage this!

Conversely, you never know! When they start filling out the higher iSlots, maybe those shards will be useful things for crafting even higher bits. It's simply too early to even speculate, in my opinion.
Alternately, there may be yet another iCurrency we will need to collect in order to craft the higher components and threads will become unnessesary.

Please tell me that you yourself are spending the 400 million each to craft all your very rares. Otherwise, it makes it seem that you believe its a great influence sink for everyone else.

Other than running the new incarnate trials, is there another way to earn threads? Cause so far, I've not earned any as I don't have much time to join these trials as I get interrupted by family life constantly, so I solo a lot.

Or is it the only way to get threads is to run these new trials?
You get 2 for completing the apex or tin mage tf's as well. I understand your position, and am in the exact same boat myself. The incarnate trials are by far the most efficient way to gain threads. it is quite possible to run a BAF in less than half an hour with a decent league. Usually that will get you over 10 threads, 6ish astral merits and an emp merit(for first one run of the day). Plus you get a choice of reward at completion, usually a component of some sort. Not bad for 30 mins... of course often it takes longer to even get on one than it does to run it.

I am going to have to disagree with this. Threads are much easier to get. Shards drop far less often, but are expected to be traded one to one best case senario? No thanks. That makes shards obsolete. Or at best, a ineffeciant use of time in my books.

That you can craft alpha components using threads makes shard gathering even more pointless imo.

It's an excellent choice IMO. Kin negates any arguments of sub par damage and with siphon power and chem rounds, the average incoming damage should be completely neutered. Grab the mez resist destiny tree and you will be golden.

QFT. I love the new content and all, but damned if it doesn't remind me why I have been soloing the last few years.

  23. Replace Repel with the I Win Button.

How about lobbying for more buffs to rad. All those anchor powers get annoying to use because your teammates always kill the anchor first...

Anything you can stack -60% damage on before you even use fulcrum shift is awesome. Add flooring the mobs recharge to that, so they are hitting you less often. Add a three second recharge heal to that, and you are very surviveable. Add unsupressed travel powers to that, and you can run away very easily. Add an end drain that allows for unlimited endurance every 10 seconds.

Yeah, its kinda messed up. But not in the way you are thinking.
