If you are using the ncsoft launcher, make sure to enable multiple instances in the options menu.

1.5 million iXP for Judgment and Interface.
2.5 million iXP for Destiny and Lore.
once the first slot opens up, it goes directly towards second slot. So first judgment opens up, then it automatically starts working towards lore. -
My slotting probably wont change much. I was already giving them the bare minimum slots for maximum benefit.

I am a melee guy as well. Please remember this when I give my recomendation. By far, my strongest toon in the barn for the trials is my fire/traps corr.
Safety that is common to melee can also be found in this combo. FFG is your mez protection. Personal defences? My toon is softcapped to to sm/l/e before ffg is summoned. with it out, I am sitting at iContent softcap. Damage? Fire blasts plus scourge. Nuff ******* said.
The toon can pretty much solo a door in a baf or if doing choke points, can help with north side and grab leakers from the south. Can solo a acid or pacification grenade spawn.
Blaze, Flares and Fire blast is all the single target I have ever needed.
Rof, Caltrops, Trip mine and Fireball is enough aoe to put alot of hurt on a big spawn. Can even grab breath of fire for ***** and giggles if you want.
Of course, before Dechs goes to prison or something, should probably mention the MFing Warshade. Google should take you right to his blog. -

Quote:If I remember correctly, they had that, sorta. Pretty sure Dark armour's shields were exclusive at one point. Then was changed that you could run them together, but the end use was off the charts, then that was brought down eventually.I think it would be cool to have an armor set which used DP's Swap Ammo mechanic. For example, you can choose to be stronger against Psionic or Energy damage, or to be stronger against Lethal or Smashing. You could also trade things like regen for recharge and stuff like that.
Sure, there wasn't a power that changed your shields to a different type or anything, but not having access to all the types at all times was considered a huge drawback. Of course, that was in the old dark days where the playerbase was ignorant and shortsighted. That has changed, hasnt it? -
Quote:I am just a stupid grunt, but if they can see the ffg, they should be able to see me. Also, as far as I know, variable lvl doesnt matter for perception. If that were the case, all my stealth toons would be ******.+2 to 4 IDF mobs will probably see straight through Grant Invis unless you stay well back.
Now if there is a power they use that does +perception, that would be understandable, however, looking at the powers list for the IDF from the wiki, It doesnt look like that is the case. -
Interesting. I briefly took concealment after the trials hit because the ffg would alert the spawns to me. It didn't work. They would still be alerted to the ffg before I even touched the spawn. Looks like I will have to retest this.
-
Has anyone tested this with traps? For example, does the teleport also tp you acid mortar around with you? I have noticed that the acid mortar will come with me through an ouro portal, but have never tested it with team tp. (Nevermind. Just got the answer from a different source. Figures.)
Also, as an aside, is there any reason why you can't grant invis to the force field generator? -
Has it ever been kicked around to make the COH forums compatible with the TouchBB Forum Browser for iPad/iPhone? It would definitely make the forums easier to access for mobile devices.

Currently my Fire/traps has a solution for every "opportunity" that pops up. The only non melee toon I have played that handles scrapperlock with a smile.

This would happen to me if I adjust it from one computer, then log on from a different computer some time later. The second computer obviously doesn't remember what I did from the first one.
-
Until I rolled a fire/traps corr, my highest blast set toon didnt even reach 30, and that through pling. Melee is where it is at. Hell, on my corr, srapperlock is a thing of beauty.

The rad or the cold should just about guarantee that won't happen.

Quote:Perhaps. I find though that rarely on a league that everyone is together in a clump. On bafs, peeps are splitting up to hit different ADD spawns, or different escapee doors. Hell, even if you are doing choke points, the league is still split up to handle that. The keep em seperated badge also pushes us towards splitting the league into zone coverage.IMO though the more I look at it, the AoE buff mechanic is over the top. IMO you should be able to hit only members of your team + your own pets. I think the ability to buff all raid members, their pets, and anything vaguelly friendly to you all at once is extremely overpowered and likely to require backtracking to fix.
Lambs, especially now that iXP will be shared, I can see half the league going separate ways, and meeting in the middle. Plus during the gathering phase the league is split. Hell, most teams these days split for doing maurader with some folks taking out the ADD's for the astral. I would say the devs are doing a decent job of "suggesting" we get out of the clumped up turtle method. -
Its a shame if you feel incompetent on your corrs or defenders. I have been a melee guy for 6.75 years. My fire/traps is easily my most powerfull and versitile toon. My fire/cold isnt far behind.

Quote:How is it possible to take an example of a qol buff meant to help buffers on leagues meant to make things easier on the new direction of content aimed at said large teams and extrapolate that to mean that the game is not balanced around teaming anymore?Teamplay you say? What about how tanks/scrappers/brutes can build to easily take on challenges without even needing a team, when ever other MMO the tank literally has have a healer or support character glued to their hip. You can not say this game is balanced around teaming anymore. The minute stuff like this happens all the past reasoning to not allow self buffing needs to go out the window period.
I think it would be op'd to do so. However, considering the amount of changes I would have deemed unwise for balance/its too freaking easy already reasons that have actually happened(aoe buffs, fitness) you probably only need to wait 6 months or so. -
Quote:As long as you remember and are fine that AV's resist -tohit by 87%29% defense + 16% tohit debuff from darkest night = 45% "virtual" defense to everything inside the darkest night patch, which should be everything you have aggroed if you're doing your job well as a tanker.
With the PVP +def IO, it gets up to 32% defense, + 16.5% tohit debuff from darkest night + 5.5% tohit debuff from dark obliteration, + 5% barrier = 59% "virtual" defense to everything inside the darkest night patch that was also hit by dark obliteration.
Let me know if my logic is off on these things. -
Quote:Not my work, all credit is his.I should've thanked you for linking the guide, sorry for forgetting this.
Quote:The only reason why I'm looking into making a farmer out of an EAT is because I enjoy their playstyle, or at least the feeling that I get by playing them (might have to do with the costumes too), and wouldn't be able to farm on a /fire toon. I've leveled a /fire Brute and Scrapper with the AE alone, and although the scrapper reached 47, the brute has been stuck at 26-8 (can't remember since I don't even think of playing her). I have since come to the conclusion that /fire is not really for me.
As for fire, there are many, many alternatives. Doms, MM's, Corrs, Trollers, you name it.
Quote:As for the +2/3 vs +4, it is mostly for pling purposes, since while I do not intend to simply do that, I did not want to completely forgo the option. Probably should have mentioned it first, but I didn't think about it enough, I guess.
Quote:On the kheldians feeling overshadowed, it was mostly about a general level of play rather than anything specific.
(On a personal experience, I had insane trouble soloing Trapdoor on my warshade, even when knowing what to do, while on my widow I simply walked up to him and beat him to death, without knowing what his 'clones' did.)
Quote:I think they are the two ATs that I simply do not see outside of AE and, perhaps this is just a misconception but, people seem to want almost anything except a warshade on their team, more so on TFs than the typical team.
Quote:Although I'd still like to know what people think of a melee fort for farming -
Quote:Sorry. His guide is the best advice I can find on methodology of taking out large spawns consistantly with a warshade. Peacebringers afaik do not shine in this arena. The knockback kind of negates it.I did read Dechs' guide, multiple times, even. But it doesn't really help on the side of 'farming'. The general advice is gold, but I am looking into creating a more than capable farmer (hopefully out of an EAT), which the guide does not touch.
Quote:And, in case it didn't go through; no matter how much I pump double mires, and even sometimes inspirations, my warshade cannot even come close in terms of capabilities to my widow, or even my scrappers (who are not even 50 yet, nor do they have any IOs).
In the end, you can farm with anything, even an emp, although the pace may make you feel like killing yourself. If you want a niche toon that can do it, fine, but if you want to compete with the hardcore farm builds, gfl.
[edit]Also, any reason you need to farm at +4? I can see it if you are pling, but farming? +2 is usually optimal. +3 if you are lvl shifted.[edit]
Quote:I'm not only talking about damage-wise, but also the capacities to solo and help teams. I've seriously begun wondering if the kheldians in general aren't just being overshadowed by the other archetypes.
Either way, glhf. If it has to be an EAT, my suggestion would be a crab, but its your $15. -

You really got me hooked there, clouding this in mystery!
These replies got me interested in the warshade side of things. I see everywhere that they are good at AoE and clearing packs, but I think I'm missing something. With Dark Nova having only two AoEs (and one being a cone) and Dark Dwarf having mainly ST attacks, I'm having some hard time clearing out groups that are higher level than me. Perhaps the Kheldians' forum would be a better place to ask this, but am I missing something or am I just doing things wrong? I get the basic idea of double mire, go into Nova and blast away, but the awesomeness of this combo doesn't seem to carry over in-game, at least for me. -
Might want to save a little longer.
Look for something without integrated gfx. Check out new egg, but really, if you spend a little more, it will last a lot longer.
