This guy told you to look through the 1000+ posts in the comic con reveals thread to find the post because at the time, I couldnt remember who it was that said it, sorry I didnt do the legwork for you.

That doesn't even specify the person as an employee of paragon, NC Soft, the con, or a temp booth hire; it doesn't differentiate between "working as intended for this demonstration" and "working as intended for the upcoming live Issue." We don't even have names. That's approximately "urban legend level" of proof.
Or after you perused the comic con thread, you could have pm'd Major_Decoy.

I never said it was official word.

Why? I have no doubt TM will be an awesome set. If it is lackluster, fine. If it IS awesome, then they raise the bar on what our expectations can be for sets we actually pay pp's for. In the end, what do we lose?

Also they're not true, since all the effects for time manipulation are completely new (and quite lavish from what I've seen) and it uses a unique mechanic too (combinations of different buffs/debuffs give extra effects.)
Positron: It really is a matter of how much time and money we put into the set. Like the ones where we kind of went a little bit overboard on, in terms of animations and effects and tech to make the set work at all, those are going to be the premium sets that everyone is going to need to buy.
But things like Time Manipulation that we had the tech for, and we didn’t need new tech, and the effects weren’t crazy, the animations weren’t crazy, but the end result is awesome. You’ll be able to manipulate time on your enemies and friends – so those are going to be for VIP players, but a free player can purchase those as well.

They are not my reasons mate.

Not all my toons are tanks. The mobs don't just magically waltz over to my scrappers because I have a rooting animation running.

The second sentence is funnier if you read the urban dictionary's definition for rooting.

Also, basically any game content. Yeah, I'd be upset if I had to pay for anything that wasn't optional extras like enhancement slots or inspirations.

Your info is wrong. Time manipulation is free with issue 21. reason being, it took minimal resources to put it together. The reason why street justice and beam gun are extra is because they are using new animations, and totally new game mechanics. considering that they are coming out so soon after demons, kinetic melee, and time manipulation, I think it is understandable to pay a bit extra for it, even if using the free paragon points we are given with our sub. Otherwise, I dont see it as being unreasonable to wait another year for the sets.

    Walk

The idea of sashaying to the next mob interests me not at all. The idea of chasing after a knocked back mob while walking is slightly humorous, for about a second.

And yea, the limitation if I remember correctly was an animation thing. For three different body types.

    Take a look: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...t=underwhelmed

Look at the Brute set. Significant defense and recharge set bonuses within one set = pure gold. You can already do a weaker version with Taunt IOs but to be able to do so without gimping an attack? That is supremely powerful. Not to mention it includes a health bonus which is always nice to have and the largest smashing/lethal resistance IO boost in the game which to Brute's near the resistance cap will offer a very significant amount of mitigation in a way that isn't readily available in the game currently.
There are two ways to improve your character in this game, you can increase their offense which is done primarily through +recharge and you can increase their defense. A set that does both is literally perfect.

I'm not going to do a write up on all of the sets but they do seem balanced in much the same way as the Brute set, they take every set bonus a character might need and combine them into one perfect package. They have removed the opportunity cost we all must deal with to those who have a large bank balance.

I'm not saying this alone is game breaking - each character can only have one set so the advantage is limited. This however doesn't bode well for the game, when this "limited" pay to win set up rolls off the shelf and is a huge success, it will become less and less limited.
Actually, I have seen them. I dont think they are game breaking, and not more powerfull than anything currently in the game that you can get for free. I dont see how these are more powerfull than purples and I dont see how this is pay to win. This Pay to win **** is starting to sound like the y2k bug. The sky is not falling.

Please explain to me how these sets are more powerfull than purples.

OP: Not much. Maybe instant 50's or archetype respecs. Both highly unlikely. However, considering the dev's idea of balance seems to have evolved recently, anything I would say won't happen seems to happen within two issues.

90% means they are taking 10 points of damage for every 100 points tossed at them. To be hit with 600 points of damage, the intitial attack would have to be 6000 points. There isnt much in the game that tosses that out at you.

Pair it with any other type of mitigation be it heals, or defence and you have a very tough pet.

Defence softcap is great, but layering works much better.

I agree people should be able to dress however they want, but they have to be aware of the reaction they will elicit. Just because you should be able to dress with your face/arms/legs showing doesn't mean it is a good idea to do so in Tehran. It doesn't matter if it is right or wrong, it's reality, and it wont change overnight. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try though.

In my opinion, people shouldn't allow themselves to be blamed for the reactions they elicit. If me wearing shorts above the knee offends someone, that is their issue, and they should mind their own ******* business.

Putting in a few extra seconds to start a sentence with a capital letter, end a question with a question mark, type out "thanks" instead of "tnx" and suchforth just strikes me as someone who respects himself or herself. In my experience, the most grammatically correct english speakers rarely state english as their first language.

Generally if I don't have time to write out a few extra letters to make it a proper word, I don't have time to write anything. The straw that broke the camels back for me was Y2K. Seriously, it is less work to hit a 2 and three 0's.

I would never say I am the most grammatically correct speaker/writer, but at least I make the effort.

As it is, just lay another trip mine and be happy that you did not waste a power choice.

    Edit: spelling
8 seconds of interupt time kills it for me. Seeing as I very rarely need to pull out trip mine these days, waiting 8 seconds to drop it, and then a further 15 second for it to detonate is ridiculous. The spawn is usually dead in that time already. Course, I am not a set and pull kind of trapper.

Exactly. Maybe I can just hope the new discriminations would be interesting, this male/female, black/white crap is boring. Can't we just dislike people because they are dislikable?

Now, what would be the reaction of the female playerbase if they were told that there was to be a server they would not be allowed to play on because they are a woman?

I would bet real money there would be a ****storm the likes of which this game has never seen. And it would probably be followed up by a lawsuit citing discrimination.

If women were NOT allowed to play on particular server, oh, that's discrimination and shouldn't be allowed. But it would be okay to make a server that ONLY women can play on, and that ISN'T discrimination?

So, I guess if you are adversely affected by something it's discrimination, but if it has a positive effect for you it isn't? Is that what I'm to understand here?

How silly of me to not see how it makes perfect sense to fight discrimination against women by discriminating against men.
You know, sometimes, for just a second, I think if everyone got together and ****** each other to get rid of the race argument, and amalgamated all the relegions into alahgishubudagodism, the world would be just fine. Then I realize these are just excuses to make us feel better about ourselves, and we will always find some other way to oppress a poulation.
