I see you have mids. It is a pretty accurate program, and is pretty much what you can expect to see in game, numbers wise. The enhancments you can slot in game, are all available to see in Mids.
To answer your question directly, yes. Yes you can.
You should take a look at Fulmans guide to frankenslotting. It is really helpfull, especially when on a budget. -
Quote:Quickly, A level 50 toon can use/slot all the sets in the game even if the level range ends at say, 40, and still get the set bonus's(usual caveats apply. exemping for example)I need a little more help...
Some sets I am looking at in Mid's show a level range. Also, when I searched in-game at the trading houses looking up sets some will only show up at lower levels.
So... I can only pick from a couple of sets?
ty!
So... please, how does a level range work?
However, a level 20 toon cannot slot a set where the level range starts at 30. You need to be 27 in order to start slotting that set. -
I am not opposed to it, but I think Bill is right. How many times is a player told in archetypes general to visit their specific archetypes subforum.
I dont think that farmers should feel like roaches and have to scatter every time the light goes on. Its just as valid a playstyle as badging, marketing, rping or lolpvping. -
I love that you wrote this, thought about it for 10 minutes, decided to edit it, and yet kept all the wrong in.

It would be better than the brute, but will take a decent investment. Honestly, you should post a build so people have something to work with. The only build I have for that pairing 200m wouldnt be enough for.
If however, you are enjoying the brute, run with that. Any 50 you are having fun on is a cool 50. -

Quote:I can think of a few myself. I was just wondering why after you asked why the devs appear to have changed policy on keeping us in the know about downtimes, people think it is a request to alleviate your boredom.Oh, I can think of a reason why it's not been posted, but then I'm sure the community people don't want to hear it.
While the server downtime wasn't posted on Facebook, the training room stress test looks to be there and not here. Way to keep us informed guys.
I was playing during the downtime. Beta didnt go down. -

Distortion Field - Combined with Time's Juncture, I find myself standing in big groups of mobs and just not getting hit. The power creates a big bubble - everything inside will have slowed recharge and run speed. 4 slotted with Curtail Speed. -
Quote:I made about 5 billion in five mins worth of marketing last weekend. Thats a billion a minute spent on the market. Anything I make through farming is supplemental to what I make on the market. I am not saying it is the only way, but it works best for me and the amount of time I have to play.Sure it would impact your farming. A well built farmer makes 3 mil inf a min. In order for you to match that level of income in 1 hour you would need to make 180 mil in sales per hour.
Quote:As to power level farming. Don't think there's much that can be done about that. People were farming Dreck with bridges way back in issue 1 and they'd keep farming missions today if AE gave no rewards, with the bonus of purple drops. Maybe allow X year vets to start a character at L22 would help curtail some power level farming. -
If I know Dechs, he doesn't think in forms.

Quote:Any infl gain I make from tickets and mobs in AE is nothing compared to what I make marketing in less than 10 mins a day. I farm because I like to crush enemies. Solving any of the "core" issues you describe will make little impact on how much I farm.Farming is not just about leveling BionicFlea, you know that
it's also about inf gain to buy stuff now that we've had an "economy" in the game since issue 9.
I will take it one step further and say anyone who farms and doesn't enjoy it should have their priorities re-examined. -
This community never ceases to amuse. City of Superfluous Tankmages. Where everyone is overpowered, yet no one feels useful to the team.

Quote:You got some uber on your shirt.I've crunched the numbers and played extensively KM multiple times on either AT to 50, including mirror combos so I can have direct comparisons, as well as detailed my reasoning regarding damage buffs working comparatively worse on brutes than scrappers due to the way the AT itself work, having lower base damage + Fury rather than higher base damage, a thought that seems shared by most if not all knowledgeable folks, but hey, mister random person, I'm glad you can put everyone's concerns about KM's performance at rest with such rock solid arguments as "it does TONS of damage and can basically do alot of things that Invul/Stone/Willpower can do" (which seems like a self-defeating argument to me, as if you're arguing it can do a lot of things, as opposed to all the things, and hasn't anything extra, then it only follows that it is not as good). I could also go on about /fire vs /mu, if going for AoE, or /soul, if going for ST + almost as good AoE + survivability, but it's late and I want to wrap up this run on rant by deploring once again the annoying trend for people to see everything in black and white and confuse relative statements with absolutes. There is a best and there is a worst, that doesn't mean the worst is unplayable ; the worst active NBA player could probably make a fool out of anyone who's reading these forums at basketball. Sure, you can dress it up by claiming everyone is a winner and is awesome, but who does that help? Maybe the feelings of people who care about the performance of their characters, but then wouldn't we be more helpful to these players by giving them the correct information rather than sugarcoated affirments, assertions that are if you ask me quite condescending as really that's the kind of stuff you feed children, and I feel it's safe to assume the vast majority of people on the boards, especially those who are likely to visit the archetype forums, are at least teens and most likely grown men or women... Then comes the second annoying trend, player compares himself with random people on PUGs, sees himself perform better, concludes powerset combo is better. Holy logical leap Batman, have you stopped and considered that this game takes a bit of skill to play? As little as it might be to some people - again, people who treat everything as an absolute, which is especially silly when discussing skill in a MMO as there are, always, a significant amount of the playerbase who plays at a level that is, let's just say, far below what would be required to have any kind of enjoyable experience in most other video games ; as little as it might seem, the point is there is still much room in this game for personal skill to supplement build differences to a point, and comparing oneself to random players just doesn't make sense. Just yesterday I've seen a blaster taking the alpha against Marauder and his cronies in a Lambda while all the brutes and tankers were sitting on their pancakes, twiddling their thumbs. All melee powersets suck! Let's all reroll blasters! Thankfully it doesn't work this way, and thankfully there is room for something beyond just picking up the power build and closing your eyes, although it can feel that way at times after hours, dozens of hours, hundreds of hours playing the game, which is the kind of time during which you could learn a whole new language or professional activity really, so it should come at no surprise that certain things that are not as obvious to more casual players become child's play for some. Bottomline, you can push absolutely every combo in this game to do pretty cool stuff, far above what is actually required for regular play, but some will have an easier time at it, some will be faster, some will be able to push it even further. Hiding that fact behind happy-go-lucky rhetoric doesn't seem to serve much purpose to me, sure there are people who consider anything but the absolute best to be broken and useless and might then try it, but most likely they'll find out at some point that particular combo isn't the thing it was hyped up to be and will end up feeling disappointed. So the lesson here is you can't change people, but you can rant at them and that makes you feel better for a little while, up until facebook and google finally manage to push for our real identity to be tied to our online personas all the time, and the angry masses come to your home and burn your house for daring to say that guys, it could be that, open parenthesis, two plus one point fifty, close parenthesis, times one point fifteen might just be bigger than, open parenthesis, two plus one point sixty plus one point twenty-five, close parenthesis, times zero point seventy-five, and no home means limited internet access, means the end of the world as we know it.

Quote:Stealth IO in sprint - 5 millionTime Bomb is awesome... in Devices. Devices has Smoke Grenade and Clocking Device which lets you walk up to a mob's feet, set the Time Bomb and get away, making it a great first, opening move.
In Traps, unless you want to drop a space to pick up some Stealth, it's mostly pointless.
Superspeed
Solves all your stealth problems.
A 9 second cast time(8 of it interuptable) and another 15 seconds to wait for it to go off is not an opening move.
Using it to pull mobs to a death zone, while amusing, is tedious. I have yet been forced to take the time to set up a death zone. I do that at the mobs feet. Setting up zones on teams is futile.
It is great as a power you can skip for something more useful. Like boxing or kick. -
Quote:I read your post the same way Eco did.People really should read people's posts. I was saying that story arcs should not provide superior rewards to farms. They should just provide better rewards than they currently do.
Quote:If they do separate the two, they should make story arcs provide a boost in arc completion ticket rewards - not so much that they are superior to farms, but enough that those who choose to play real arcs instead of farms do get a little something. -
Quote:Yep. Bob Dylan probably spits and snarls every time he walks into a music store and realizes that Lady Gaga's music is available under the same roof as his.If I were Hemmingway and the AE was the only outlet for publishing my works, I'd likely be pretty upset if my stuff was cluttered up with a bunch of comic books.
Or, you know, maybe he would have confidence in the fact that his music will probably stand the test of time. -

Quote:Mostly hoping for best sellers, but getting 10 for $1 bin at walmart. Sure, there are some diamonds in there, but that is only after much digging. The question I prevent to you is, what is it that you dislike? Is it typos? While people should fix these on their own, this is where the part of being hungry for feedback comes in, plus more eyes help. Is it style choices? If most writers have a Coke style writing and you prefer Pepsi nothing can be done about individual arcs but perhaps you could be directed to arcs that better suit your tastes. Is it things like logic errors/story conflicts? This is also where feedback comes into play and is probably more useful than typo fixes since a typo is easier to fix.
Its the same for farms though, there are many, many bad, unorganized and plain painfull farms out there.
My turn. Since it is proposed so often to be rid of xp/ticket rewards in AE, what if they got rid of the HOF, Dev Choice and badge rewards. What if there were no rewards at all. Would the majority of arc writers still be interested in writing? -
Quote:I hear you. How many folks are you sharing the zone with while running goldside?I actually like Praet. I just got another character through there, and have 3 more to go.
I used to run almost exclusively in hazard zone street sweeping until the ssk change. The only time I would be sharing the zone is with badge hunters. Once the change was made, there was really no point to it anymore but I still get nostalgic about boomtown and terra volta. -
-resistance is -resistance. It always helps.
As for secondaries, Themal pairs nice and is thematic.
IMO dark or traps are rarely a bad choice. I also have a soft spot for storm. -
Quote:Fair enough.I never said I was an intellectual lol. I'm not sure what it is you think I'm ignorant of either. I think this started because you disagree with my opi ion on why some people choose to play farm arcs over and over instead of playing story-arcs.
It was probably the 'cretin' comment rather than the reading one that got your dander up, so I apologise and I'll amend my comment:
I think that a major reason why farm arcs are being played is that there are a lot of CoH players who don't like to read, and who place value not on a narrative being experienced but on numbers. Levels, inf, xp, tickets, all these things are quantitative, easy to attain, and give measureables with which they can know how much they are 'winning the game'.
That sort of playstyle's not my cup of tea, but they pay their sub, same as me, so I'm not going to demand they're stopped.
I just wish there was a good way of segregating their arcs from story-arcs in the AE interface. Everyone would win then.
Eco
I wonder if in the begining farmers wern't ostricized for creating farms, they would be more comfortable saying that their mission is a farm in the description. Old habbits die hard. -
