    Toxic Damage

Cool vid. Excellent music choice for it. Really neat idea. How well does it manage +2's and 3's?

So, sure, i'll concede that he certainly beats me in that arena. Not sure how that exactly counts as a victory since i wasn't even competing, but seize your victories where you can i guess.
Inviting someone to hold their breath until "x" implies either of two things. That the invitee is having a tantrum and you are calling them on their immature ultimatum, or you are suggesting they hold their breath until they prematurely expire. Since the op never offered an ultimatum, I assume you are inviting the op to expire. As you are clearly an intelligent individual, I am surprised and amused at your indignation from the ops clear position to rise above your attempt at baiting him.

I wouldn't say I am worried about it, but hopefully it will be proliferated at some point.

I will not argue with you that it doesn't make sense conceptually for a stalker, as shields and stealth do not mix, and when say spartans wanted stealth, they would strip naked.

I won't argue it, because as far as I know, there were not any Spartans that could teleport their ***** into a group like a bolt of lightning. Without being noticed of course.

Real shields and two handed weapons irl, or real shields like the dark elemental available in the game?

Also, since the shield is basically cosmetic, why can't we have the choice to not have the arm shield, and instead opt for something more along the line of a body shield?

Or do you just want a set mechanically like Shield Defense that can be used with the sets Shield currently excludes?

I don't think either of those opinions is bad, so I apologize if my wording appears to favor one or the other. I'm just wondering where you're coming from on this.
Since the shield itself is mostly cosmetic, it doesn't really matter. I like the mechanics of the shield set, but think it would possibly been better if named something else, been able to pair with everything, and have the shield as a costume option on any toon that wanted it. Of course understanding that that is not even remotely possible, I am fine with looking a little ridiculous having a shield strapped to my arm while shredding mobs with my spines.

Crazy considering there is a power in the set named phalanx fighting, and we are always in tight formation whilst tanking and spanking.

In tight formation my Titan weapon, or even my katana would rip the **** out of everyone around me shield or no shield. Assuming of course I am not lying dead in a scorched heap of charred bones because someone rained fire down on our tight formation. Again, this drawing the line between reality and fiction is ridiculous. Stating that two handed weapons used with shields is unrealistic is assinine in a super hero game.

This is my point. I am willing to look a little silly in exchange for complete badassery. IMO it will look no less silly than pulling a shield out of my *** and not actually hiding behind it when under fire, it just magically defends you 360 degree's while staying immobile attached to your arm.

To repeat Santorican, that is your opinion. IMO, using my Titan weapon as my shield would be awesome, or ballistically throwing my spines scrapper into the middle of a spawn would make me smile every single time. I will grant you, claws would look silly, but frankly, they already look silly and it changes nothing.

If you don't think a spines scrapper shield charging a spawn as a prickly cannonball doesn't look cool, I don't see how we can be friends. That is of course assuming you like spines, because most folks seem to think they look stupid and nonsensical all on their own.

Yeah, I am sure Persia thought the Macedonians looked really stupid with their two handed weapons and shields.
  9. Considering I never actually see the shield stopping a projectile, I don't see why we can't use our Titan weapon as the shield. I know my sword is plenty big enough to hide behind.

And are folks really arguing that you can't possibly carry a shield while having both hands wrapped around a weapon because it isn't realistic, but pulling a giant freaking axe out of your back pocket is? C'mon.

Willpower, ice, dark, fire, invul, sr..all these armours can be made awesome..without needing ONE power..there tier 9s. Stone, is mediocre at best, without its tier 9. Because the set is basically balanced on the fact you will be in granite.

I just dont see how skipping the best power in the set is evolution..when the other powers offer nothing the other sets cant do much better.
It is not difficult by any means to cap s,l,e,n,p. It is also not difficult to have EE perma. In slotting a kb prot, there is nothing that can mez me and kill me before I have a chance to toggle rooted on. That makes me very mobile, just the way I like it.

The costume thing is not an issue for me. I knew what to expect before I rolled a stoner.

At no point would I recommend skipping granite, with it I am soft capped to all but psi and toxic, and hard capped resist to all but psi and tox as well. not bad for a single power, but there is no need what so ever to run in it at all times.

If costume design and the slow mo on stone is such a big turn off, again..WHY even bother having stone? You could make an Invul tank, with pretty similar performance, add in the same IOs you are building for, and be without the slow motion..and able to see your costume.

I understand wanting to make the tank better..but if you are doing that just so you can not run the best power in the set, for visual reasons, well...pants on head?
Because my play style has evolved. I used to run in granite all the time. Now, with capped hp because earths embrace is permanent, and being softcaped to s/l/e/n/p, the times I feel I need to deal with the -dmg, -rech and the slow are rare.

If their concern was related to time-gating I'd have expected them to impose much stronger time-gates on all aspects of the Incarnate Salvage (i.e. first time you run a trial each day you get the standard rewards subsequent times you just get a single Astral merit and a few threads, no E Merits, no component drop and no Astrals for completing each section).
Ain't you a smart feller. Also, keep in mind the iXP cost will hopefully be higher for each new power to gate it that way as well. Say 5 million iXP for the next two to open(with option to buy iXP with astrals not threads), 10 for the next two(bought with emps if wanted, not astrals) and 15 to 20 for omega(bought with cosmic(they are in game already, you know they will use them), not emps).
  21. Most of my toons will hit the cap when buffed by a kin. More damage for everyone!

I thought we were talking about being able to self cap here. A single kin caps my elec/da brute.

Why are we positioning ourselfves for buffs based on teammates who may or may not be able to cap our damage?

In fact its a fine strategy for above the aggro cap too, its just that these spawns are so far above the cap that the slightest aggro from the Blaster drags 17 for him to deal with and there's nothing the tank can do.

I don't object to artificial game caps per se, but I think this one is bad for the game because in this particular situation it makes Duo'ing harder than soloing. Its one of those things that exists to stop power leveling but makes the game worse for those of us that are trying to play the game "normally". I always felt the AoE caps were enough. This was implemented back in the days when there were 3 fixes for everything but 1 would do

Also your tactic of targeting through the tank would only work if your blaster limited him/herself to single target and I am not sure even then. So you are left with pulling. Meh.
So it is more difficult for you to duo it, but I am pretty sure the blaster was happy to have you there. I think it would take much different tactics for the blaster to manage the room solo than for him to just pull.
