Quote:Oh, well then, never mind. Better to brand em with a cheapskate tatt and leave it at that. The Star/Note system is highly individual to each player - I use the star system entirely different than anyone else would - every time I team with someone I give them a star a leave a note of when we teamed and which toon I was on. Every time we team again they get another star.

Quote:As kids, my friends mom would constantly scream that she would strangle him with a knife. Always made us crack up.So with Water Blast we are getting a few water based powers that do... fire damage. I get that steam can burn - but it burns by heat, not by fire.
Sorry, it just seems silly and illogical to have a "water" power do "fire" damage. Would it be too hard (coding wise) to rebrand fire damage as heat damage?
Saying water does fire damage is sort of like saying you stabbed someone with a ball.
On topic: Sure, why not? -
I dislike the idea on principle. The few free players who do decide to grief, well, isn't that what the star/note system is for?

Quote:I can't see that in the same way I can't see that in order for someone to have a fulfilling life experience, one Must play the lottery. Sorry, but that sort of chase will never be fulfilling as they will always be chasing the next thing that they imagine will fill the hole of despair. I know, there are many people out there like that, and I pity them but when they start complaining about it, they should be reminded that the issue is in them, not everyone. The only aspects that *I* can see that this might be true for are for the ultra rare finds in the Super Packs: Black Wolf and Corsair (uh...) Flying Disc Thingy...
Now, it's not true that anyone needs to be insanely rich to afford those things (and some could even get super lucky, of course), but... from a fiscally limited and/or fiscally responsible and/or pragmatic perspective, chasing after such rewards by dumping the cash in may require a boat load of funds before one would even consider it a viable option.
Quote:All that being said... It's not quite all that bad. -
You don't need any taunt duration enh. Tbh. Hit them with an aoe and then taunt them. Sorted. You can now drag them wherever you want. Though why you would I have no idea. Personally I would hit a spawn, then drag that to the next spawn and kill them there.
Hope your bf can handle any aggro that peels off of you though. And if he can, run opposite sides of the map. Much faster.
It may not be a ss/fa broot, but a fm/fa tank should never feel embarrassed farming next to one. -
I would miss the ddr running anything in DA.

I have never been disapointed by the power. I like to throw one out right on top of me as a buffer to anything trying to close into melee with me. Throwing a couple out onto a big bad helps the melting quite efficiently. No idea how beasts are, but my favorite pairing with /storm is bots.

Meh, I am a personal chef for an insanely rich guy. I get to feel rich and use his stuff without actually having to pay for it. I'm staying.

Quote:Lol. Really? Tell me, can you only enjoy driving if you are in a Ferrari? Flying if in a private jet? Sleeping if in a mansion? Food if prepared by a three star Michelin chef? My heart bleeds for you.I have been with COH for a long time and I am becoming more and more frustrated at the commercialization of COH. Now, only the wealthy and insanely rich can enjoy the game fully. If you are on a limited income you can only use basics and not look as nice or fight with as much style as a rich person. IT sucks and is about to drive me from the game. I am sure most of you do not care but I had to say my piece.

I am disappoint with the lack of Horatio in this thread.

I like experiencing the different interactions and synergies of the powers. I like leveling up. I like farming. I like throwing fireballs to the mobs faces. I like to try out new power sets. I like to eke out as much performance from my toons as I can.
I have never had much interest in badging. Pvp isn't worth the hassle. I have never had to have the latest costume set. Creating award winning MA arcs will never be on my resume. My base is just barely functional. I will never roleplay. None of these things really interest me at all. However, I appreciate that they do interest others.
The game really does have something for everyone and I am glad that it does. -
I have just been running through the DA content now for the first time. I was running it at +4/8 on my sd/fire tanker just long enough to open up my lore slot. I don't know how fast you are expecting to go, but I managed 2 story arcs in just over an hour with maybe two trips to the hospital... Now that it is open, I am going at +1 for the faster kill/drop rate.
Mind you, my defence debuff resistance really helps out. Well, that and the build is pretty tricked out.
I didn't rely on inspirations at any point, but I did not refuse to use them either. Converting to reds is always nice. -
The -tohit from dark has always been very synergistic with storm. I would probably pair it with ice or an aoe heavy set just so I could hang a spawn up on geometry and unleash hell on it.

Quote:Not to be confrontational, but this toon of yours, I assume it is running on SO's. Because just up thread, you were the one saying that the game is balanced around them and not IO's. I know I am not the best build maker, so please understand that the one thing that made my stone tank bearable on SO's was that I could just run granite, and not have to run 5+ toggles draining my end dry. And even then, I had to use every trick available at the time in order to not toggle drop. I was pretty aggressive though... Now with IOes, one has a choice to build to negate stone armours penalties, or build to negate granite.Humor finished, time for business here. I don't see 7 toggles as being too much, really. Build properly and they don't drain your endurance too fast, or even better, they drain slower than you recover. Push comes to shove, pack a few blues. Of course, this comes from the perspective of a player whose main is a Crab that runs 9 toggles at all times and has over 60% ranged Defense when solo, without even having Hybrid unlocked yet.
I now look at granite as a true oh crap power that is crashless. Looked at in that light, I will take a bit of a damage and recharge debuff over end drain any day.
Quote:The nerf is coming, one way or another. There will be a point where critical mass on this set is reached and the devs finally end up taking a look at it to make corrections to something they should have looked at a long time ago.
Quote:There should be reasonable suggestions out there for what they do rather than having them pull a regen on it when the time finally comes.
Even if the powers team did take a look at it, I wouldn't be scared that it will be nerfed. If anything, the current team has my full confidence that they will be able to change things around and still maintain the theme and fun of the set while making it perhaps a bit cooler to play.
The only thing I really want for stone, is to be able to walk up a set of stairs. Other than that, I can work around just about anything else. -
Why does it have to be a everything or nothing thing? I have toons on virtue. I like it because there are tons of peeps and it isn't freedom. (haven't even been erped by a catg.i.r.l. yet. Was told it would happen as soon as I logged on) However, Justice is still home. The chatter is familiar, the vibe is comfortable, it's like going back to my hometown, without the trailer parks and garbage in the streets.

I have been paying to win since I bought the game. I really don't care how someone else progresses through the game. It doesn't affect my play time at all. It also takes absolutely nothing away from anything I may or may not have accomplished. I don't compete against the rest of the player base, I try to figure out how I can do things better.

Quote:I really wish the mids team would crank out something for mobile devices. Would love to tweak or create a build on the go without loading up my laptop. And that is if I have a powersource for it.Yes Mids is your friend. I use mids for every character to make sure I don't run into a slotting problem. Mids is also like a game to me... Some days/nights I will sit down and just do 4-5-6 random builds to see how good I can make them.
Playing the mids game has been enough to get me to resub more than once. -
I prefer debuff sets that I can leverage the most out of solo, but oh yeah, really helps out the team as well.
My absolute favorite is a fire/traps corruptor. It was my first foray into range sets as it were(even though I am in melee mostly).
I wanted something with a bit of mez protection, Ffg fits that bill, as well as providing decent defence. Seekers is huge for taking alphas, and debuffs decently as well. Poison gas trap keeps the spawn busy and debuffed while you get started with blasting. Basically, I don't need to worry about surviving now. Enough so that if the tank is slow, I'm happy to eat the alpha.
I wanted something that could pump out some respectable aoe damage. Easily covered by fire, as well as having better than decent st damage. Acid mortar debuffs their resists so the spawn is taking even more damage. If you play aggressively, and by that I mean don't set up and pull, but instead debuff and toe bomb, it is impressively fast to take out a spawn. To put it another way, be the second one in the spawn, and if the tank balks, be the first.
Basically the best way to help the team is to do what you would do anyway and your toolbox guarantees you have a response for any situation that pops up.
Now there is no denying, the more influence you drop into it, the better it will be, but it really does well with just frankenslotting which is cheap as chips. -

Mids.
Far as I know, messing with power slots at all causes the game to do some funky ****. As much as I would sometimes wish I could have 2 "banked" slots at 50, mids has helped me with some pretty creative slotting. It's actually easier now that epics open up at 35... -

Actually, because the Base recharge is higher than any of my other single target blasts, I will be dropping the atio set in the snipes.
-
I like the snipe change, and I like that it is affecting more than just blaster primaries. They are not proposing to fix blasters with the snipe change, they are trying to make snipes more appealing period, for whatever AT that has the option of taking one.(that said, I am not against there being no magic number at all)
I don't care about the range change, because frankly I am in melee all the time anyway.
And who in their right mind would complain about more leadership toggles floating around? If I didn't predominantly solo, I would definitely account for other peeps running tactics the same way peeps don't worry too much about the iSoftcap with all the barrier buffs and such being tossed out.
Maybe I am missing something, but I thought the addition of sustain was the specific buff to blasters.
